I'm in the midst of reading "I capture the castle", by Dodie Smith. I like coming-of-age stories, and this one's pretty decent; I really like the main character, Cassandra...
Otherwise, this summer, I am planning on reading some Japanese literature (authors like Yukio Mishima, Tanizaki, Edogawa Rampo)... Anyone read anything by these authors?

I've never even heard of these authors!

I’ve read some of Mishima’s work when I did a paper on him for my Japanese history class, I read Temple of the Golden Pavilion and The Sound of Waves along with some of his short stories along with two biographies. Brilliant writer but nuts.

All Greek to me (or should I say Japanese). LOL, but I understand since Japanese literature isn’t well known in the West except for comics. This is Yukio Mishima: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukio_Mishima

My book collection: imgur.com/gallery/KiZu8UsThe bag on the left is my fiction and the one on the right is nonfiction, the one in the back is library books. I actually ran out of shelf space and the rest of the books are in my brother’s room since he has bookshelves, these are the ones which don’t fit on the shelves and I haven’t read yet.

Wow, that is a lot of books! And those are the ones that don’t fit on my shelves, I have a lot more. I could stock a Barnes and Noble from what I have, since I got nothing but time I can finally start putting a dent in my book collection by reading them.

Sounds like you need to buy more shelves.

Sounds like you need to buy more shelves. There’s no room for more shelves, maybe more bags. A lot of my collection comes from library discards and sales, charity shops, flea markets and used on Amazon, if one buys used from third party sellers it can be a big bargain. I have a huge book on the Romanov dynasty that would normally retail for $30 that I bought used for $2 at our church flea market, one has to more digging around but it can be worth it.

As you can see, my shelves are full. I own a lot of travel guides, especially Lonely Planet, which I use for research purposes. I’ve bought some new on Amazon but most are used from charity shops, library discards or third party Amazon. Let’s put it this way, if you want to find a sushi restaurant in Poland, let me know and I’ll find one for you😛
