I've never had the chance to sit down and watch 90210 but I do know a little bit about it. I found out about his passing when I got home from school. It saddens me that a lot of the best celebrities are passing away. But I have watch Riverdale so it's going to be sad to not see him on there anymore.
I just found out yesterday in fifth block that Katherine Helmond passed away. Although I'm not familiar with her work on Who's the Boss and Soap, I'm very sure she was a great woman and talented actress.
Let Luke (and Katherine) both rest in peace.
I think I'll make a list (starting from a certain year) of all the ones who've past.

You should check out 90210 when you get the time. The show's definitely a product of its era, but the first two seasons are still great. Both Shannen and Luke were wonderful in the show (and were easily the best things about it).

Shannen has lost a good friend.
He was there for her during her cancer battle, and Shannen was there for Luke. However, unlike Shannen, Luke didn't make it.

Oh I will. This summer I'm planning a TV show binge-watch. So I'll add it to the list.

I like the picture of Luke and Shannen. Dylan and Brenda, together one last time.
I'm guessing that Riverdale will do, as TV Tropes puts it, The Character Died With Him. There is no way they would recast the part, Luke was irreplaceable.
I read that Luke was engaged at the time of his death. His poor fiance

I read that Luke was engaged at the time of his death. His poor fiance I've heard that the show was already potentially going to kill off Fred Andrews, so I guess this makes that decision easier. Speaking of Riverdale, his TV son, KJ Apa, has been eerily silent. He probably saw Luke as a second father and has to be completely devastated.

A sad case of Real Life Writes The Plot (another TV Trope).
Some no doubt would prefer to mourn in private, rather than share with the whole world.

That's the first I've heard they were already going to kill him off already. However, I've noticed on Riverdale Luke has had less screentime this season, and missed a few episodes. I wonder if he has had health problems for a while, that had been known, and he was going to be removed eventually. Fred Andrews was the heart and soul of Riverdale, and beloved by all. The best parent, the only other would be Kevin's dad Tom, who has lately been seen interacting with Archie as a mentor for his boxing. I wonder if he'll be the new parent figure for Archie. I can't see his mother Mary becoming a regular full time, since the actress lives in LA and has small kids. Yes KJ Apa has taken this so hard. He and Luke had an amazing off-screen relationship. I heard he has met Luke's son and stayed at his house so much. Luke was a great mentor for all the young cast at Riverdale who respected him.

He truly was an amazing person. He will be missed by us all. No longer here but never forgotten.

I wonder if he has had health problems for a while, that had been known, and he was going to be removed eventually. That's possible. Luke may have seemed healthy at first glance, but maybe he wasn't, after all. He was always a very private person (he even stayed off of social media, which I admire him for), so I could see him keeping his health issues low profile. Fred Andrews was the heart and soul of Riverdale, and beloved by all. The best parent, the only other would be Kevin's dad Tom, who has lately been seen interacting with Archie as a mentor for his boxing. I wonder if he'll be the new parent figure for Archie. You know he has to be completely devastated, then. I've mentioned it before in another thread, but Riverdale is arguably more of a next generation 90210 than the actual next generation 90210 ever was (especially in terms of cultural impact), and I could easily see Dylan McKay growing up to be Fred Andrews. Very fitting that the Riverdale kids got the chance to have the Best 90210 Guy as a mentor. I know some of this is the Brenda/Dylan shipper in me talking, but this is soooooooo beautiful to read! It's beautiful and lovely that the two were able to reconnect and become friends, and it's a shame that the "something special and meaningful for our fans" they wanted to make together can never happen now.

A beautiful tribute from Shannen.
He was there for her when she needed friends, unlike others (yes, Holly, I'm looking at you). And I'm glad she was there with him when he needed his friends.
