Disney is losing fans fast. Star Wars fans are accusing the Mouse of destroying the franchise.
SW fans, I feel your pain. With the atrocity called STD, the CBS Swindlers have destroyed a franchise I've loved for decades.

That's probably why fans love the original trilogy because there was no meddling from Disney then.

Indeed. I prefer the original ones more than the new ones, only in special cases when it might be better. But these are rare!

Of course, Disney didn't own it then!
If George Lucas had to sell it, couldn't he have found someone else?

I wonder who would've been a good company to take over the Star Wars franchise whilst staying faithful to the mythos then?

Yeah, I can understand when fans of much-loved franchises would feel cheated once new materials released that goes against everything they know and respect about something they've loved a long time then.

Yep, the CBS Swindlers are going to keep conning people into signing up for their All Access. If they have to destroy a long running franchise to do it, they will, and the fans be damned.

However, Disney also wasn't in charge when the prequel trilogy was made, and those movies sucked. The problem with Disney is that when they get a hold of a property, they will beat it into the ground. They don't want to produce movies, they want to produce franchises. They want to get butts into theaters every year, and make $$$$$ in selling toys, clothing, video games, and other tie-in merchandising. That's what's going wrong with Star Wars under their watch. They're trying to turn it into another MCU with a huge shared universe and a bunch of separate, non-trilogy movies that ultimately serve no purpose besides making money.

Good point.
And they're destroying it in the process. To many a Star Wars fan, Kathleen Kennedy is the spawn of Satan.
The CBS Swindlers are doing the same with Star Trek, destroying a beloved franchise in order to make money.
It's a sad time for both Trek and Wars fans.

And, it's only gonna get worse after Disney buys Fox. Not only will they get ownership of the rest of Marvel's characters, but also a boatload of other film franchises and several major TV franchises (Simpsons, Family Guy, all of Joss Whedon's shows). This is only yet more material for Mickey Mouse to suck the life out of and franchise straight into the ground. This article is a scary read. Disney has become a monster.

Geez, Disney is becoming a voracious vampire. Sucking the blood out of franchise after franchise.
Where is Buffy when you need her? Oh yeah, the Mouse will get its claws into her too.

All I can say is that Buffy and Firefly fans better watch out. No way will Disney pass up the marketing opportunities those two franchises present, especially since they've already got Whedon's number on speed dial (thanks to Marvel).

Oh boy oh boy, another season of Michael Burnham telling us how great she is and how no-one can do anything right without her present. Cancel this trainwreck already. At this point I think they're only renewing it to save face.
As for Disney buying Fox, I am so wary of this merger its unreal, I am a big fan of the X-men films, they offer something different in terms of superhero movies imo, and now they're just going to turn into the same cookie-cutter MCU joke fest that every other franchise they've acquired has become.
I mean did any of you see the forced, out of place humor they injected into The Last Jedi? I remember sitting in the theatre and just being completely taken out of the movie when the scary villain started trying to be comical, I cringed so hard.
I think in fifty years time our Disney overlords will be controlling our every move, laugh and bathroom visit by the looks of things.

Yeah, the Mouse is coming. An evil that even the Slayers won't be able to defeat.
Ugh, Mikey Spock (as one online reviewer calls her). I loathe this creature. And her existence spits on more than fifty years of Trek canon, not that the CBS Swindlers give a damn about that.
As I said, Star Wars fans, I feel your pain in seeing your beloved franchise destroyed like this.
One comfort to me, I'll be dead by then.

No thanks, this is way too scary. I liked Disney for what it once stood - animation, wonderful songs and many more. Nowadays it seems to catch up all the company can get. Again scary!
