Jon did play Lex really well. And when he said Miss Tessmacher it reminded of Superman one when Gene Hackman uttered that too.
Good episode overall.

No doubt that was a wink to that.
And I loved the end, when Supergirl arrived to confront Lex. Of course, he has Lena as a hostage, which he will probably use as a bargaining chip.
Sorry Jesse Eisenberg, but Jon Cryer is a better Lex Luthor than you will ever be.

Lex Luthor is excellent at chess.
This episode reveals he's been moving characters and events around, like chess pieces, in both the U.S. and Kaznia, for months now (and most didn't even know of his involvement).

Well, he's not known as the world's greatest criminal mastermind for nothing you know.
I saw three comic storylines in this episode here concerning him. One with Lex and his Krypto suit. The second getting Cancer. Although not from prolonged Kryptonite exposure but making himself have it. And finally, the red daughter saga though I mostly know of Lex cloaning a version of Kara called Matrix.

This is as far from Alan Harper as Jon can get.
Yeah, Luthor is a great mastermind. He sure moved all his human chess pieces into where he wanted them to be.

I think he nailed it. This was a Lex Luthor that you could take seriously.
The fact that he was behind all the problems our heroes were having this season showed what a master chess player he is.

Yes, we now know what Lex is up too. I'm hoping this means he'll be set up well to become a frequent character on Superman & Lois.
Yeah, it looks like the Crisis might repair Lena and Kara, or the Crisis will alter stuff afterward.
Looking forward to Crisis, be exciting to see what Flash and Arrow offer when they air their pre Crisis episodes. Arrow, especially has already been kicking off so many plots for Crisis, that I expect them to have bigger teasers.

Well, he is Superman's A Number One enemy.
And I love Jon Cryer in the role. He's the best Lex Luthor since Gene Hackman, IMO.

I agree too and Michael Rosenbaum was a fantastic younger aged Lex in Smallville.

Lex said he wants to get even with Lena. I wonder what he's got up his sleeve.
