Great pics, Tim. The school where I work had a Halloween parade and most of the kids wore costumes, the little ones mostly wore princess and superhero costumes but the older kids had more original ones. The class had a party where they had too much junk food and watched cartoons, just like the ones I remember as a kid😊
Sounds like you have a fun Halloween.
It always has been my favourite holiday.

We had two trick or treaters knock on our door last night with their parents which my mum answered but none other than that.
Some of the kids where I work were either going to parties or trick or treating themselves with either their parents or friends though one mum did shake her head when I mentioned the first saying, "We don't do that in our house because it's expensive." That I assume she was referring to buying costumes obviously.

Now I'm kind of depressed that Halloween is over

Yeah, that would be nice.
Now that Halloween is over, prepare for nearly two months of onslaught for that commercial racket called Christmas.

Tell me about it, commercialized Christmas is annoying and brings out my cynical side. It feels irritating with all this cheerful crap and the dumb Christmas music playing nonstop, I once worked at a toy store during the holiday season back in high school so I know of which I speak😎. That’s why my favorite Christmas song is Father Christmas by the Kinks since it’s so sarcastic and cynical: youtu.be/i2X0JzlO8SM

Thank God that Halloween is not as commercialized.
And I hope it never will be.

This have something to do with the Day Of The Dead? Yeah, an ofrenda is an altar with pictures of the deceased along with food and drink they liked along with marigolds. The Hispanic Society in our school set it up

And it comes right after Halloween.
According to Wikipedia, it predates the modern Halloween, but was moved to November 1, to tie into it.

Unfortunately people think of it as Mexican Halloween when it’s actually more of a religious event than Halloween. Plus November 1 is All Saints Day so it would make sense to have it on November 1, October 31 is actually All Souls Day when the Catholic Church honors deceased people. Mexicans are mostly Catholic and it’s a combination of Catholicism and Indigenous Mexican culture

Yeah, it seems as though Halloween and Thanksgiving blend into one holiday here. Throughout October and November there’s fall foliage and harvest vegetable imagery that immediately goes away after Thanksgiving. I suppose some people are offended by Halloween and this is to make it more palatable and not offend anyone. Many Evangelicals think Halloween is satanic, there’s a convenience store in my neighborhood owned by Evangelicals and they have a sign in the window saying they’re not going to hand out candy because Halloween is satanic

Halloween has nothing to do with Satan! Halloween, or Samhain, was around long before the concept of Satan was even thought of.
Some people just need something to get uptight about.
