I remember it too, but can't place the episode. I do have the boxset, maybe I'll re-watch, and can find these.
I do remember the scene with Smoking Man and Mr. X in a car.

I remember that scene too, part of 'Wetwired' the one where Scully went mad and thought Mulder was working for Smoking Man. I loved that episode, was so fun, seeing her go crazy thinking someone was tapping into the room and throwing stuff around. But, of course, it was due to mind-control experiment upon unsuspecting people via their television sets. Mulder was red green colour blind, so was immune.

Yeah, I remember that episode too. Poor Scully ended up hiding out at her mother's house.

I loved that they mixed a great monster of the week episode with a bit of mythology, but not much, just Mr X and Smoking Man appearing. Yeah, I remember that episode too. Poor Scully ended up hiding out at her mother's house. She was too. I remember, and she had a emotional scene telling Mulder he is against her, before breaking down in her mother's arms.

It was a favorite of mine too. I love Wetwired, with all the twists and turns. Especially the look on Scully's face when she got infected, and was grabbing ice from outside the hotel, and thought she saw Mulder with Smoking Man in the car.

And they never did find out who or what was behind all that.

The episode ended with the words on the TV going "Gotta go. Bye, bye!" or something like that.

Yes, lots to enjoy in this one.
In S2, I remember the scary one with the strange cult or the one where Scully was about to be beheaded and Mulder ran to save her in the end, revealing the Sheriff was the killer.
I sure freaked out thinking he was not going to make it when I first saw it, of course, I know they wouldn't kill her, but this is the X-Files, where anything can happen.

Yeah, I remember that episode as well. It was called Our Town, I believe.

Yes that is the episode. I liked Our Town too. I really do need to re-watch the show again. I do own the boxsets, and have the digital downloads of 10 & 11. I keep hearing so many good things about the 10 and 11 boxsets, having so many extras, and a behind the scenes on nearly all the episodes.

The British series, Torchwood, did their own version of Our Town.
