Yeah, and Slay sounds like a step in the right direction, feels like Buffy, but at least here, it's not rebooting Buffy, it's a brand new show by POC writers, dealing with the African culture, where the Charmed reboot used the name of an old show and didn't do POC justice since it was still being run by white people. I wished they did that with a new witch show. I hope it is picked up. I remember Regina King on some things before too. Valley Of the Gods sounds cool and interesting too. I'll keep my eyes out for more updates on these shows.

That's what I thought reading that description, too. This is exactly what we need to be seeing instead of these racebent reboots. Inspired by Buffy and Charmed, but still their own thing with their own characters and stories (and with POC actually in creative control).

I sure hope this is it. Maybe the Charmed Reboot was a blessing as much as it was bad. It helps to let the network see that reboots won't work and to create shows inspired by old ones.
I welcome Slay. And will be looking out for updates on the development of it.
This might be a fun thing for me to learn more about the Africian culture told through the eyes of true POC writers not white people in charge like the racebent Charmed reboot.

Isn't it wonderful to not see a reboot.

I'm looking forward to this. Seems better than rebooting something.
With Supernatural ending. Supergirl ending and the Charmed reboot likely not lasting much more. I see why CW wants this show.
I remember Regina King on the Big Bang Theory. Nice she and her sister are working together.

I hope Slay will be a hit.
With so many shows ending, the CW needs new blood. And this show just might be it.

Me too Tim. I'm already interested to check it out. This might finally be a hit for CW. Something new and POC that isn't a reboot. Yay!!!

This show can prove the CW is capable of moving beyond reboots.

This show can prove the CW is capable of moving beyond reboots. I agree, it really does, and is so refreshing to see. And, I'm all for finding a new show, than watch a reboot. Thank god, as I'll bet they wanted to reboot Buffy, but after the backlash of Charmed's reboot, they changed plans, this makes sense why we haven't gotten any updates on the Buffy reboot from over a year ago. I hope it never happens. Give us Slay.

As Betty put in another thread, the Charmed reboot might be gone, and they'll have this show as their CBS production baby, along with Nancy Drew. So with those two, no need to keep it around.

Yeah, if this show is a hit, they just might drop the Charmed reboot. Time to stop backing a losing horse.
