Another fun episode.
I thought this was the first mystery of the week that I was really interested in, I was actually surprised that the almost retired legendary cop was in on it. I figured he would just be too old school to listen to Mickie and possibly a bit racist, but him being actually in on the murder was not what I was expecting.
Love getting a Micki episode, they have continued to dig into her conflicting feelings about being a Hispanic woman in the Texas Rangers in interesting ways, and she is just a really likable and interesting character. Its great seeing Lindsey Morgan in something where she can smile a bit more! And she and her boyfriend continue to get sweet as sugar. I am guessing we will get even deeper into her conflict about feeling like a token while also being happy being a trailblazer for women of color who is trying to make the system more fair, because there is a lot to dig into there. I am guessing we wil "Off the book is my middle name...actually its Beauregard, what's yours?"
The family dynamics continue to be the shows highlight of the show, especially now that we know that Abeline apparently had some kind of affair. I can certainly understand her not wanting to talk to her son about this, but when did this happen? Does Walkers dad know?
Also nice to see Liam and Walker getting along better, and I am glad that they are trying to help Belle's family out as much as they can and that their plot hasn't been forgotten.
As usual Walker and August ar probably my favorite part of the episode and of course we love August. It was very sweet and very real, and I am glad that the two of them had a scene just the two of them.
I am liking Stella more though, its nice that she really wants to help her friend and really does feel bad about them getting into trouble, leading to all of this, and while her romance with the farm guy isn't exactly riveting, its harmless enough.
Should be interesting exploring more of Walkers time undercover next week.

Yeah the case was great, and always nice to see Beth (Zelda from Sabrina) too.
I'm loving the August scenes with his dad too.

As I said, Walker's family is very much part of things. Something that wasn't on the original series.
Of course, that Walker was in his 50's.

Yeah, it is more interesting. I finally watched the pilot of the original (which never saw), and gotta admit, it may have been a hit and I'm sure fans liked it who saw it when it aired. But, I got a little bored of it. It was hard to connect with any of them, it was so heavy on the cases and kung fu, that it had not much actual story. So I don't think I'll keep watching the OG.

I've seen some of it, but admit, I like this reboot it really is fleshing more out, than being a standard cops and robbers procedural.

This episode directed by a former classic Charmed writer focused on Micki which was nice seeing her get one for herself that involved a Mexican gang.
I continued liking Walker and Micki's friendship and partnership as well as the family dynamics between him, August and Stella then. Walker trying to get Micki's middle name Flora as well as calling her Muskrat and learning later on his middle name was Beauregard was funny then.
Stella's friend Belle's family plot continued which I liked not been forgotten and the fact Liam and Walker now getting along better tried to help them not get deported.
Next weeks episode will delve into Cordell's undercover work obviously judging by the box August accidentally had in his room. Label people. Label.
Bonham and Stan walking in on Abeline singing and dancing had me laughing. You could tell there's tension still between the parents which had something to do with Bonham losing Abeline some point on the past previously which Walker found out in the basement was due to an affair.
Trey and Micki's relationship was highlighted again which I thought was sweet how they gel well together and we find out she has a talent for mug shot drawing although I understood her misgivings about being a trailblazer woman of colour.
Interesting seeing Beth Broderick guest star in this episode even though I'll always think of as Zelda Spellman.
The budding courtship between Stella and Trevor at the prison ranch was cute. Hopefully that's harmless enough and nothing serious doesn't happen or anything.
The Winchester Auto on Walker's undercover mobile was a nice nod to Supernatural and how John owned a garage before becoming a hunter.
So Monty had something to do with Enzo's death which Harlan's wife was also involved in because of an affair they were having? Nice that Enzo's daughter got the inheritance at the end allowing her to return to med school.
Did Captain James have something to do with Emily's death or knows a thing or two about it?
And nice picture at the end of Micki's made up superhero being framed.

Eh, I'm kinda confused here. From the description of the episode 1x02 and 1x04 should be switched. Nice to see Stella now as the rebellious kid and August partly as well. And yes, a nice brotherly fight - just in front of the house. Not good. Yes, Walker can't let go, yet in a way he should do it. Cool with the horse in the city and that horse helped Walker to get back in the saddle. At least, some father son bonding - in two generation, or better parents-kids bonding.
