So Morgan Edge has people with powers working for him (including another Kryptionian). How did he manage that.
However, his message to Lois is clear, back off. Of course, she won't.
Poor Clark really does struggle to be a parent at times. He's trying, however, to keep his sons from giving themselves away.
And Jordan went out for the football team. However, he hasn't really hurt anyone, not yet at least. And Clark is gonna be there as an assistant coach to keep an eye on things.
Hey, Lana, lose the husband.
And what's wrong with your daughter. The episode was never clear on that.

The family dynamic continues to be a highlight, Jonathan is great.
Lois's subplot was enjoyable.
I continue to feel that it isn't the best decision to not have Lana in on the Superman secret. Is it me or do people think, she doesn't seem to be much for her to do apart from being the mom (so far she's just gotten the being the mom role). I'm hoping she does know and has just kept it quiet until Clark tells her. Insane, to think she is that clueless having known him what twenty-five years at least.
An Evil Kryptonian is here, I also wonder if she is from Luthors world.

After two episodes spent establishing the Kent family's new status quo and introducing the mystery surrounding Captain Luthor. He is nowhere in sight this week.
The focus has shifted in this weeks episode. Instead of following Superman, which we still got. It wasn't a big part of the episode. This one focused on Lois Lane as she digs even deeper into her Morgan Edge investigation, Clark as a father, and Lana's strained relationship with her daughter Sarah.
The opening scene with Superman saving the bridge was just the type of nostalgia I live for! More of that Superman, please!
I'm kind of on the fence in regards to Jordan playing football. On one hand, it is clear that his special abilities do play a part in making him stronger and more effective on the field. BUT, on the other hand, it does seem to be helping him on a mental level and if he does make sure to never go full "Superboy" on the field, maybe it will feel less like cheating.
Realistically though, I feel like it would be fitting if other issues prevented him from dominating, like not being able to understand the playbook and aspects of the football sport. That said, Jonathan earned major points for supporting him. I honestly wouldn't have blamed him if he didn't, but good for him. Jonathan is a fantastic brother.
It was nice to see more of Lana and her Sarah's relationship. Not surprised that Lana is faking a lot of her public persona, because I had the sense that there was something off with her during those first two episodes. Curious to see where this goes. I do kind of worry about the younger daughter Sophie, who is apparently known as a bully in her grade. Hope we aren't getting the origins of a future supervillain here! LOL Emmanuelle Chriqui and Inde Navarrette played the mother and daughter breakthrough scene in their relationship beautifully.
Surprisingly continuing to enjoy the reporting/investigation stuff. I thought they did a great job of making Lois's editor Chrissy challenging her and questioning her, because I do think a great reporter needs someone to keep him or her in check at times. So I hope, this means Lois will make a mistake and admit it. And Chrissy is right, this isn't the Daily Planet, where she has so many resources.
A new villain has appeared that seems to be Kryptonian as well in the cliffhanger.
I totally love that Clark just turns into the "goofy dad", whenever he is in public with his sons. That alone makes me excited for him as the assistant coach going forward. Bring on the dad jokes and dated references, Superman! Make your boys roll their eyes and tell you to shut up with pride!
Odds and Ends: *A storefront had the name Teague on its sign in the scene where Clark and Lana discussed parenting. A reference to Smallville's Jason Teague, a love interest for Lana Lang. *Of course the title of the episode 'The Perks of Not Being a Wallflower' is a play on the Stephen Chbosky novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Overall thoughts: Another good episode. The show is starting off on the right foot at least, so it won't be a true serialized story every week, with fighting Captain Luthor. I liked Clark as a dad, and where they are going with him building a better relationship with his sons, but he can be great as Superman, but fail and struggle as a dad.
Grade: A-
Moments: 1. Clark acting like the goofy dad. 2. Jor-El-DeBarge. 3. The Kents painting which turns into a playful paint fight.

Why would a Kryptonian throw in with Edge? Someone with those powers doesn't need a a boss.

Loved this episode.
Especially loved how nostalgic it felt, a big emphasis on family, seeing Clark be the goofy dad was hilariously adorable.
I really liked Lois' plot as well, I worry for her manager now that they are possibly targets.
Edge has a Kryptonian working for him which is....odd. Could she also be working with Luthor? I wonder if it will all connect at some point.
I'm getting a little tired of Jordan's outbursts, and he keeps getting his way as well, writers need to tone him down a bit because I see potential there. Jonathan is still great, definitely feel like he will get powers at some point, perhaps just a late bloomer?
I do feel bad for Lana, she seems like a good, caring mother who wants the best for her kids, but she's been saddled with a husband who seems to care more about his own ass than his family, ditch him Lana.

I was geeking out for Superman explaining to his kids about what he does. I loved goofy Clark, so adorable. I loved how he faked carrying the keg. Jordan continues to come off very badly. He seems particularly selfish (especially since if he messed up dad could be exposed) and Jonathan continues to be a little too indulgent of his brother. I wonder if Jonathan has feelings bottled up. I hope the football stuff gets toned down, I'm not that interested in it, to be honest. But seeing as Clark is now assistant couch, it looks like it is here for a while. Happy that Lana's daughter ditched her unreasonable boyfriend but I find, unless we get something amazing happening there, it is rather a boring story. Anyone wonder if her dad will turn out to be one of these superpowered people? Just something about the parents sleeping in different rooms made me think perhaps that was for Lana's protection. They also make a point of saying the daughter had her issues about a year ago, perhaps Kyle turned to Edge out of despair. I did love Lana's relationship with her daughter and she the actors have great chemistry as mother and daughter. And I really hope they have Lana figure out Clark's secret soon, I'm still shocked she is still in the dark after decades. The family stuff is great. I really loved both the breakfast and the painting fights. That's the stuff that should and I hope is always a staple of every episode. Hopefully they dig deeper into Lois relationship with the boys as the show progresses. So far, it's heavily focused on Clark's POV. Grade: A Why would a Kryptonian throw in with Edge? Someone with those powers doesn't need a a boss. This is where I think the show might have lost me. It is a very typical CW thing to have the evil people with powers. (similar thing happened in Supergirl season 1). I was hoping for a more grounded show about Superman. Where Edge proves to be an enemy with no powers. And it kind of takes Lois' story away and puts it right into Superman's territory. I wanted to see them both doing what they do best and in their own ways making the world a better place. I am not sure the superpower people are related to Morgan Edge. I hope that isn't the case. Maybe trying to draw Superman out by going after Lois.

Edge better have some Kryptonite handy. If these beings decide to double cross him.

I was wondering actually if they might not even be kryptonian, the man had strength, and we see the woman with heat vision, but they only use one power each, I am wondering if Edge has gotten ahold of Kyptonian DNA and managed to divide up Superman's powers among his security? Hmmm.
As for Jonathan, I too have noticed that he keeps putting aside his own feelings for Jordan, bottling them up over and over, which of course isn't healthy. I feel like at some point he's going to explode and lose it, which could give him the emotional turmoil needed to awaken his powers? And I hope Jordan realises that he isn't the only person in the family who needs attention and help, I want him to learn from his selfish behavior.

Could be.
Mind you, there is still a danger of giving your mooks too much power. Guess Morgan Edge has never heard of Victor Frankenstein.

So, used my other source for watching and there they had the current episode. Thankfully! Now we get to know the family better. Jordan and Jonathan seem to have a weird relationship, though helping each other all the time, yet different in many ways. With Clark being just "Superman" and a Dad makes life not easier for him either. Well, at least he and Jordan can relate better now, and cool job for Clark. Even Lois has some big trouble in a little town. Who would have thought that? And yeah, Edge seems to be involved everywhere. And Lana's husband seem to be a huge fan of Edge and not really supportive of his own family. All have troubled relations going on. Looks interesting for next week!

This was a good filler episode.
I assume the title of it was from either a film or book I’ve not watched or read yet.
The family scene at the start with them messing around with the paint I loved before Superman saved the China bridge which reminded me of the Superman 1 scene.
The Kent dynamics after the credits had me laughing and I caught the Spiderman reference there.
You can tell this shows about family like Walker is.
Did Lana’s dad just drive off without Sarah being seat belted behind?
I see Gregory Smith who starred in the teen drama Everwood's a Supervising Producer on the show and also directed this episode. He must be a Superman fan obviously.
Felt bad for Clark trying to be a good father again who got pummeled by his sons for spying although I understood why he did it of course.
He’ll have to let them go at some point and trust they’ll be alright on their own including Jordan doing football as well as Johnathan.
Lois continued her investigation into Morgan Edge digging up what happened in New Carthage although someone didn’t want that happening by the state of her car.
She’ll have to learn she doesn’t have resources like she did at the Daily Planet and so will have to work harder to get what she wants naturally.
Like Smallville, the football teams called the Crows and Lana’s mum’s Cheerleader coach.
I enjoyed her and Sarah's screen time although I felt there’s something going on with Sarah and that the front she put up was fake for whatever reason.
Jordan trying out for the Crows was cute. Nice he got his own back with the bullies on the field and didn’t really hurt them with his abilities.
So things are not okay in the Cushing house it seems?
I see what they did with one of the shop signs naming that Teague in reference to Lana’s Smallville season 4 boyfriend.
If Lana’s having so much trouble with Kyle then perhaps they should separate for a bit or divorce entirely if needs be.
The Jor-El Debarge name popping up a couple of times cracked me.
Nice seeing Lana and Sarah reconcile at the end and Clark mentioning Baseball which Tyler played as a child and probably would’ve pursued if he wasn’t an actor.
Loved goofy Clark especially the fake walking with the keg towards Sarah and Jordan.
I feel slightly worried for Chrissy now also working with Lois on the Edge story encase anything happens to her like the woman at the end who seems to work for him then.
Is she Kryptonian or someone human injected with Kryptonian energy like the man Superman fought previously?
