What an awesome episode! The show keeps getting better and better. Bitsie Tulloch definitely gave her best performance yet since she took on the Lois Lane mantle. The reveal that Lois miscarried was heartbreaking. Lois's blowup at Jon made complete sense. She blames herself for the miscarriage and the thought of losing another child under her watch cripples her. Lois and Jon's roles as the humans of a Super Family really strengthened their bond. I do worry about Jon though. Seeing that footage of Alternate Lois's death by Superman's hand clearly affected him. I don't think he would ever betray his family, but that possible trauma could definitely be used to manipulate him. John Henry took one step closer to a path towards redemption. I think it's safe to say he is indeed a Crisis survivor, similar to what happened on Supergirl and Batwoman, but I also wonder if Evil Superman somehow made it to Earth-Prime? He was near John when the flash of red occurred so it might be something to watch out for. At least Lois was able to talk John down from killing Superman. John seems to have let go of his Luthor profile, and while I think he still has tension towards Superman, I think he has taken a step in the right direction. Superman learned about 7734 quicker than expected. It's awful to say, but Lane is kind of right. There need to be contingency plans for rogue Kryptonians, and if Lane wasn't such a psycho in the comics, it would have been a good idea. I definitely see shades of comics Lane in Arrowverse Lane so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Jordan and Sarah continue to be so cute. Jordan stepping in to help Sarah with her audition was adorable. I also enjoyed Kyle and Sarah bonding, until Kyle mucked it up over his anger about the Edge Program. Seriously, every time I get close to liking Kyle, he goes and ruins it. All in all, another fantastic episode. The other DC shows on The CW NEED to take notes. This is how you do a show Grade: A+

1x8 Holding the Wrench
Another amazing episode. I really love that this episode was written by someone who really had a good understanding of psychology and family dynamics, it sure felt that way to me.
In this episode Lois' trauma, anger, and desperation in this episode was handled with the kind of maturity I would never have expected from a CW show. The therapist's response was pitch perfect. The way the show is going its showing its strength for why this is one of the best CW shows on the network, and that at the same time it doesn’t feel like a CW show.
I’m loving that the show is so grounded in reality with having superhero stuff involved, but the heart is the Kent family. Very different to the other DC shows, where it is overcrowded with superheros, where the action and superheroing seems to be more important. Seeing them deal with real life issues, and also dealing with them in a mature way, is just so rare to see, especially coming from a CW show. This show really separates itself from the rest of the DC shows, that a part of me hopes they don’t connect it with the others, I’m fine if the crossovers don’t come for as long as possible.
This episode truly proves to me WHY this show is called Superman and why this show is called Superman AND LOIS. Giving Lois the forefront was a smart decision, and I love how they tied in John Henry Irons' world with hers a little bit. The miscarriage was a total surprise, but it worked really well with tying that together and giving Lois some empathy toward Irons. I'm glad she told her sons about it though.
Then the way Clark reacts after Lois snaps was the response of a man that knows exactly how to maintain a healthy relationship. He was very calm, reassuring and acknowledging her feelings. Telling her firmly that he is there for her if she needs him and then steps away to give her the space she needs to decide what she wants to do next. An A+ relationship move right there. Clark made me so proud.
That moment when Clark and Sam Lane realized that despite being totally angry at each other for mostly reasonable things, they had a far bigger fish to fry that had slipped under their nose, and was probably building an army was utterly epic.
Speaking of Sam. He is so gonna to get himself into a lot of trouble sooner, rather than later. He has created weapons against Superman without informing him, is a choice. I know what his intentions are, and wants to be prepared. But seriously, keep your soon in law in the loop at least. I'm glad he told Clark, but still, come on.
Lois and Jonathan’s story together in this episode reminded me so much of old school Lois and Jimmy. I loved them being paired together, that the ones without powers in the family, can still prove their worth and help. I love that Jonathan has all his mothers smarts and his dad’s charm. Seeing them working together was so adorable.
Another favorite scene was actually Clark asking for Jordan’s help with the truck while Jon literally ‘held the wrench’ and I like the theme of the “humans” of the family sticking together was well done. I was DYING to see the scene when Clark goes up to check on Jon, and when Jon and Jordan talk after the talent show, but we didn’t get those.
The car repair scene was nice. I love those family moments when Clark uses her power for mundane stuff.
Jon and Jordan had a nice moment together while waiting for Sarah's audition. I loved the Jordan plays piano.
I can't imagine what fear went through Lois head when Jonathan was in danger and she couldn't stop it herself. It’s good that she recognized that she did come across to harsh when she yelled at Jon and went to talk out her feelings before going back to apologize to Jon. Truly this show really does it so good, as if this was another CW show they’d keep that drama lasting the rest of the episode, And she really gave the best apology, no excuses, just a full out apology while also sharing something deeply personal about herself to give him perspective. Simply amazing.
Speaking of Jonathan, he was having a rough episode but I love that he had so much time to shine in this episode. He was reckless in going back to the RV, but he's a teenager so I’m not surprised, but he and he recognized how wrong it was in the end.
Poor Sarah, having to deal with her father not appearing at another event again. The show continues to make us hate Kyle.
But the best part of the episode is the end. Lois starts her apology to Jon calm, confident, but as the emotions come out it starts a waterfall of words where the only proper response is a hug. It's all so god-damn believable and human. And I love the speech Lois gave Jon about being Extraordinary Humans in a Super Family.
The show is REALLY selling me the idea that Jonathan does not need any powers to make him special and important. Which is fine with me, because Jonathan and Lois' talk at the end was so good and sold me on not wanting to see Jonathan with powers at least for a while. They really have a lot to explore with human Jonathan and Lois vs powered Jordan and Clark.
Odds and Ends: *In the comics Project 7734 started as an anti-Superman army project, but grew when the bottle city of Kandor was restored on Earth. *Only nit-pick of the episode, is I wish they would’ve addressed the video Jon saw of a certain someone murdering his mother from another universe. They'll eventually address at some point. But this reminds me, of the press release for episode 10 coming up which says “Jon opens up to Jordan”, now I’m wondering if he’s going to hold that inside and then finally bring it up and talk about it with his brother. I know I was nervous thinking they’d go the direction of Jon having feelings for Sarah, and worried me that they’d start a typical CW love triangle, but this video is what I really think they’ll address.
Overall thoughts: Another fantastic episode. Elizabeth Tulloch absolutely destroyed it this episode. Such a damn good performance, and I really loved Jon and Lois as the non powered heroes getting to do something help proving their worth. It's crazy how far she and Tyler have climbed up my list of favorite Clark and Lois actors/actresses. That conversation she had with the therapist, with Clark, with Jon were just amazing. Just so grounded. Also props to props to Elsass as well (Jon Kent). He continues to weave well the hurt teenager caught up in this superpower craziness and the supportive brother confiding in his sibling.
Heck, all the conversations in this episode were on point. It's so amazing that people on this show are willing to agree to disagree and extend trust to people anyway.
Grade: A+ (this might just get my A++ for the season, but who knows, the way the show is heading, I might continue my A+ streak, and struggle to pick one. That potential A++ episode might still be yet to come.)
Moments: 1. Lois’ speech to Jon about being Extraordinary Humans in a Super Family. 2. Lois opens up in therapy. 3. Clark being a good husband to Lois and knowing how to be mature in the relationship to handle her feelings.

So Lois had a miscarriage. The baby would have been a girl named Natalie, the same name as the girl that Alt-Lois and John had on that other Earth. Nice that we got a look at the life John had and lost.
And Lois found out much about John's past and why he hates Superman so much. However, John is misguided. Just because his world's Superman went rogue, doesn't mean the Earth Prime one will.
At least things end with John, not yet an ally, but perhaps he will help in the upcoming battle with Edge and his Augments.
Lois really laid into poor Jon. Of course, he almost got himself killed. However, she realized that she needed to deal with this. Nice that she told the boys about their lost sister.
General Lane finally comes clean with Clark about the anti-Superman weapons. Yeah, they were there just in case, but still.
Oh good, Edge a** smoocher Kyle is back. Nope, still don't like him, and his bailing on Sarah didn't help. What did Lana ever see in this guy?
Another good episode.

I think this was Bitsie Tulloch's best acting performance as Lois yet!
I can understand Lois's point f view for sure. Bitsie was great in this episode that I forgot it was a scripted show whenever she was talking of her Natalie. I felt goosebumps and everything.
The further we get in this season the more I’m convinced I have a new favorite Clark and Lois.
I legit cried in this one..
I'm also really glad they've finally "ironed" out the whole "Superman's Evil Storyline!
Grade: A+

So, caught now up too. Wow, what an episode. So, Lois had a miscarriage after the boys and that girl would have been named Nathalie, like the daughter in that other universe. This multiverse thing still gives me a headache. So, Lois was afraid to lose Jon and acted that way, and naturally, the normal ones should stick together. Jordan and Sarah were so sweet together when he helped her at the audition whereas her father failed here completely. Yes, Kyle, you're falling deeper while Lana keeps up her good work as a spy. So, Jordan is back playing piano, it seems. lol Anyway, still the boys are a good together and the family here too. I so like this about this Superman - and Lois. Can't wait for the next episode!

WHAT an episode. Incredible. Acting alone Bitsie for the win.
That Jon and Lois scene at the end just killed me. I was so moved.
Wow...extraordinary humans in a family of super people.
Again the actors have such amazing chemistry as a family unit.

Poor Jon, I felt bad when Lois laid into him like that. I can understand why she was upset, but still, it was brutal.
