The consciousness inside Clark is General ZOD?! I’ll be damned! Samuel Lane still wanted to enact Project 7734! Sigh. That wasn’t Crisis that took Irons’ to Earth Prime, what does that mean?
I loved Diggle being here. Now people can stop bitching that S&L in on another earth, they are on Earth Prime. He was so freaking good! I loved him immediately being on Lois’s side against her bastard of a father! I wanted to see more of him though! Jonathan talking to Irons was great! I love this kid more and more every episode! Everything he does makes me smile. The Lang-Cushings water fight was very cute. Clark defeated Zod inside his mind and WON! That’s the Superman we know and love! Irons helped him, never thought I’d see it! What’s this mission Rho still has?

[1x12] "Through the Valley of Death"
So the consciousness inside Clark is General ZOD. Didn’t see that coming, so no Clark turning evil.
So we get out first crossover appearance from another DC show and its John Diggle (who I know has been on a crossover tour on other shows I think) but you know would’ve been great to see a Green Lantern Diggle help out in the fight against Superman. Now, I’m sure the trolls and fans online will complain where Supergirl is as per usual, when we all know the reason why she isn’t here or mentioned.)
This show continues to highlight that while Jordan has Superman’s powers, Jon has Superman’s heart and I think it’s a perfect way to do the twin sons of Superman, and why I fear giving Jon powers later on, might ruin his character arc.
I love how Lois never faltered in her beliefs, I think everyone could use that level of faith.
Some great Jon and Jordan moments. Jon not only helping and encouraging Jordan was great.
Jordan managed to hone his powers and find Clark.
Jon’s inspirational pep talks continue to be the best. I especially loved when he said “There's always another way.” Jon is definitely his father's son. Jon was fantastic as a supportive brother and that scene with Irons KILLED me. That speech made me very emotional.
Kyle snapping at Lana and Sarah about not being able to protect them made me tear up, not because of him yelling but because of him not feeling like he was doing a good enough job. Kyle is growing on me, and they seem to be redeeming him so much lately. I just wonder if they are buttering us viewers up, just to kill him off soon.
I loved seeing Lana, Kyle and the girls goof around while cleaning the house, it very much parallels what the Kent family did when they painted their house near the beginning of the season.
Looks like Edge absorbed all the kryptonians into himself, which would definitely bring him closer to The Eradicator of the comics.
I had to laugh at this exchange: John Irons: What do you mean? Lois: You know. Clark is Superman. Irons: (frowns) You mean ... Clark's with Superman? "With" in what sense? They're working together? Lois: No. No. Clark is Superman. Superman's Clark. They're one and the same.
General Zod being gone seems like too good to be true. Maybe they are leaving that thread to pick up on in later seasons. But I sure hope its more the writers telling the audience they don't really want to focus on him at. So, here you go, Now it's done. Let's carry on. I sure hope its the latter.
And the full-on Irons 'redemption'! He was never evil, per say, but he finally took a chance on Clark and actually trusts him now. But all part of misdirection from the start of the season with him.
The end of that episode finally gave us that big family resolution I've been waiting for. With Clark kissing Lois and hugging the twins but especially Lois telling Irons Clark is everything to her and the love of her life.
Lots wrapped up with a few more episodes to go. I can't ever figure out where this show is going!
Odds and Ends: *Oliver Queen gets a name drop (yes, I know fans will riot because its ahead of Kara's mention, but again we all know why that is). *The show finally addressed where Leslie Larr is. And why Sophie hasn't been in a few episodes has at least been mentioned on this episode.
Overall thoughts: That episode was Solid. Of course every episode in this show is solid. I’m REALLY interested to see where they go next, since there are a few more episodes and Edge is definitely not done yet not by a long shot, no way he’s gone for good until at least the end of S1. The writers of this show know how to keep us on the edge of our seats and subvert ALL expectations! Zod! Sam Lane character growth! Lois revealing Clark’s identity! And shoutout to the actors for selling every moment of this episode, the on-screen chemistry is amazing.
Grade: A+
Moments: 1. Jon’s talk with Irons. “There's always another way.” 2. Family reunion with the Kents at the end. 3. Kyle snapping at Lana and Sarah about not being able to protect them.

Yes, this should lay to rest those silly claims that this show is not part of the Arrowverse.
I felt bad for Lana and her family. Seems the whole town has turned on them and are blaming them for something that was not their fault.
Yeah, that was General Zod that got put in Clark's mind. However, thanks to some help from his family and John Irons, Clark managed to expel the Zod persona.
And Tar-Ro is now in custody. However, he's not done yet. If he has absorbed all the Kryptonian minds, that's makes him a formidable opponent.
Glad that Sam Lane did not chose to kill his son-in-law.
And Lois revealed to John Irons that Superman his her husband. And I loved Jonathan's comments as well. Looks like John Irons is on Clark's side now. I get the feeling that he'll be needed.
This show was much missed.

Strange thing. S&L is there, punctually but Walker still not! I don't need to understand this, do I? Anyway, back to the episode. So, Clark was fighting General Zod in his mind. Good work that he could rely on his memories of his family to fight back and the last push came with Steel. Now they're going to be a great team. So, Jonathan and Jordan make a great team when Jonathan gives such good pep talks. To Steel, to his brother. Yep, even without powers he's great. And his Grandpa, just taking precautions but in the end they managed to catch Edge. Does he now have Zod in him? Obviously (or not). The bonding scene with Lana's family was great, yet the Smallville people need to learn more. It was not their fault that this happened, only Edge's but the people always look for someone else to blame. Can't wait for next week/time!

Great episode! Superman being possessed by General Zod was expected yet shocking all rolled into one. If Clark was going to be possessed by any Kryptonian, Zod was the obvious choice. Luckily, John Henry, fully embracing his Steel mantle, was able to help Superman expel Zod. I have no ill will towards John Henry for his Superman vendetta. His Superman did destroy his world after all, but I'm glad Lois and Jon were able to talk some sense into him. I really liked Jon's scene with Steel. If Jon does indeed stay powerless, it would be interesting to see the two form some sort of friend or mentorship. Jon does have a thing for John's weapons after all. Edge has seemingly been dealt with, but Leslie Larr is still out there. Plus, what exactly did Edge activate before John took him down? Its a little weird how S and L has a tendency with making an arc feel finished, before its even began LOL. I understand why Kyle threw in with Edge, he was trying to save his town after all, but Kyle came off as so unlikeable at first, that he kind of deserved the town backlash, although Lana and Sarah sure didn't Their family scenes were very heart-warming. Like the Kents, they are becoming stronger then ever, and hopefully they will fully heal. John Diggle continued his tour of the Arrowverse. All in all, a great return and I cannot wait to see how this season ends... GRADE: A+

Another great episode.
Yet again Jonathan is his fathers son. There's always a way. Great way he helped Jordan locate Clark.
I really liked how john irons got involved and I'm glad he ended up helping clark and showing a sign of trust.
Loved seeing Diggle. What is the payoff with the alien box thing? Still has yet to appear on Supergirl so more Green Lantern stuff I presume.
The one scene of Lana's family spraying water on each other was cute.
I'm curious what edge has planned now he seemed to have destroyed the eradicator, I think Leslie will get him out but this episode felt it could have served as a season finale. I think it was before the additional episode order to 15.

As much as the Diggle cameo was okay. I'll be honest, I've enjoyed this show more when it doesn't crossover with the other shows. It's doing so well and gotten new fans because they don't want to keep up with continuity with all the other DC shows or don't watch most of them.
The "There's always another way" Jon speech was fantastic. As always he proves to be the heart of the family.
So many tearjerker moments. Clark fighting Zod, Jon telling JHI about his dad, the scenes with Clark kissing Lois and hugging the twins but especially Lois telling JHI Clark is everything to her and the love of her life. Those were so emotional.
It was an emotional one for me with great action scenes, I can't believe there are still three episodes left, this one felt like a finale!!

Amazing episode.
This show just keeps getting on better and better.
Never thought Zod's consciousness would possess Superman.
Am glad John got through to him and didn't kill him then.
Jonathan was a stand-out here helping Jordan find Clark with his hearing and his talk with John Henry showing what a character can do without powers and why he doesn't need them and is still important plot-wise of course.
I hope Sam keeps his word about no longer doubting Clark although I won't believe that till I see it obviously.
Nice seeing Diggle and the mention of Oliver.
The Cushing family scenes were cute seeing.
I'm getting more on board with Kyle now although I just have the feeling he'll be sacrificed in the season finale then.
It looks like Edge will become the Eridcator himself absorbing all the Kryptonian consciousnesses at the end which was what his father wanted him to do.
Of course, Leslie's out there so we have her as well as Edge to do deal with still going forward.
