Gjon's cross battle performance on The Voice France All Stars singing Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat where he was pitted against someone from a different team and had to do better than them to get through to the next round which he did successfully.
This surprised me as I thought it would be another ballad around the piano but in turn progressed into a bop that Gjon's not normally known for that still had me smiling and nodding my head how crazily good he was on stage.
A great performance in all. Look forward to the next.

Video of Gjon's final performance on The Voice France All Stars in the semi final round. Like when he took part originally 2 years ago Gjon unfortunately didn't make it through to the final having lost out on getting one of the 6 spots available which a lot of people disliked because they thought he was robbed again seeing how Gjon was the better singer of the three people in team that he sang against.
Of course everyone was strong but what are the three reasons Gjon went out again is.
1. The song didn't show his talent enough and the craziness Gjon's known for.
2. Not many French people know him artistically yet even from Eurovision whereas more people outside that country do who couldn't watch or vote for him on the Voice then.
And 3. He's not a French national also although apparently he wasn't the only talented person who didn't make it to the final either.
Despite that I loved his performance as I do everything he sings and know he'll go far whatever happens because of the record contract he's got and the fact people who don't win talent competitions tend to do better than the overall winners with the few exceptions of people like Little Mix for instance.

Another Albanian singer. We have quite a few of them, such as Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, and Bebe Rexha.
What is it about Albania that has produced so much talent (yes, none of those singers were actually born there, but they are all of Albanian background, from ethnic Albanians that fled the former Yugoslavia during the civil wars of the 1990's).

I'm not sure but as I said prior Albanian singers are known for hitting high notes which people like Rita Ora and Dua Lipa have done before.
Maybe it's something in the genes who knows but at least the Voice got Gjon more exposure which was one of the reasons he was picked for Eurovision originally and hopefully he'll do well with his up-and-coming debut album.
Because of the type of music Gjon does he won't be a mainstream artist unfortunately so don't expect to see him in the top 20 on Itunes or Spotify as his current fans are quite selective like Michael Buble until Gjon gets anymore but he was very popular with Eurovision viewers this year and last hence where a lot of those have come from so he'll always be remembered there like Alexander Rybak has for e.g.

Could be.
Wonder where all these singers would be had Yugoslavia not broken up.

Anyone wanting to view all of Gjon's the Voice France performances including his All Star stint can do so here instead of viewing them separately before thanks to this channel then.

You're welcome, Tim. If anyone wants to view each performance separately they can do so on the first page. I just added this encase people wanted to see all of them at once.

Here's a song Gjon collaborated recently with a fellow Albanian singer called Arilena Ara who would've represented the country in the 2020 Eurovision Song had that gone ahead. His sections sung in French. Having heard the song a bit I thought it's a good bop and Gjon accompanies it well and looks like he had fun doing it as well. Some fans thought this wasn't his style of music as he's not behind the piano like normal but I know he can be quite funky and wacky when Gjon wants to be of course. Overall it's good and nice to see Gjon singing with someone else other than himself for a change then. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cHiUt2zNtU

And this is his new single which I assume will feature on his debut album when that comes out COVID permitting.
As always Gjon sings with the same conviction and emotion he normally does with his trusted piano which he feels comfortable with.
The falling down snow bit is a throwback to his 2020 Eurovision Song Contest video entry of 'Repondez Moi' which had rain and snow coming down his face during parts of that and the ending has his trademark tear effect which he's now known for then.
Been voiced in French I didn't know what the songs about but from an Instagram Live video Gjon done yesterday it turns out the meaning's about people who've had to leave their countries for obligation reasons like war or famine and the silhouettes not knowing whether they'll return again.
Nice black car whichever make that is.
The black background and light blub sets the mood of the song and video.
I can only imagine what a live version would sound like if that come out actually.
Another masterpiece sung by the voice of an angel which pulls at your heart strings like 'Tout L'Univers' and 'Repondez Moi' naturally.
What a way to get me pumped up for his album next.

Live version of Gjon singing his latest single "Silhouette" on the Voice France which's surreal one because he was a contestant on there in 2019 and a few months ago also in the All Stars Edition but two how the song resonates more with the current situation in Ukraine being how the lyrics pertain to people having to leave their country and settle down in a new one due to various things like war or famine for example.
As the ovation at the end suggests crazy heart felt vocals from an outstanding emotional performance.

It is yes. Gjon just has this way of emotively connecting with the audience and making you feel something when he sings even though his style of music isn't for everybody.
I'd pay good money to sit near the front at one of Gjon's concerts to hear his voice if he or his band the Weeping Willows ever came to the UK but they just play around various venues in Switzerland currently.
Seeing Gjon come full circle singing his own song on the Voice France whilst now signed up to an independent record label says a lot about this young man's career and where I hope it'll go future wise obviously.
