Taking Betty's advice. I didn't know Google spied on you I've deleted that from my laptop and mobile and installed Mozilla Firefox instead which I hope's better then.
I too don't change my mobile phone unless I have to but if all my apps become non compatible with my device future wise I might have no choice obviously.

I too don't change my mobile phone unless I have to but if all my apps become non compatible with my device future wise I might have no place obviously. Same here. THANK YOU BettyNewbie for telling us that. I had no idea about that with Chrome. I've deleted it off my phone and Laptop. I installed Edge in addition to Firefox. Also using Edge on phone now than Chrome. Firefox at least on my smartphone isn't working too well for me and freezes and apo closes. I tried downloading stuff with Edge and it works great. No sure why it doesn't as well with Firefox. It seems slower. Firefox is fine on my Laptop for browsing the net but not downloading large files. So will use Edge for that.

I use Edge, so I don't have Chrome. I use it as it's the most reliable for me. But, I'll also download Firefox on my devices, just in case something happened and I have no internet.
I don't use all those fancy gadgets and tech. Seems like something the rich snobs use just because it's fancy. No thanks, I'll just stick with my smartphone, laptop, and smart television. That's more than enough for me.
Who even wants a smart fridge. I still have the same old fridge I bought 15 years ago, and it's still running nicely and hasn't had anything wrong with it since. Same with my phone, It's the same one I bought three years ago, and I only replaced it with a previous one from 2012. But these days, it seems these companies make smart phone to not last more than 3-4 years top, because they want to force you into buying a new one.
I tend to truly like to get my money's worth on stuff. I don't need new stuff just to be hip and fit in. I'll buy new devices and appliances when they broke down or I need to replace them.

A smart fridge and bathtub. Sounds like something George Jetson would have!

A smart fridge and bathtub. Sounds like something George Jetson would have! Right, that's so true. How long until we got flying cars LOL, I won't be alive to see it of course, but where slowly working our way up there. But seriously a smart fridge and bathtub/spa, are just not needed.

Our fridge is also not a smart one but an ordinary thing we bought 8 years ago after mum and I moved house then.
Neither of us have smart televisions with apps on them though I do have 2 Google Chromecasts to watch YouTube on TV in the lounge and my bedroom actually.
We have an Amazon Echo downstairs and a Google Nest in my bedroom which were purchased on my birthday and Christmas last year £20 each in a sale that used for radio music, bluetooth from phone or laptop and general answering though it's funny when either product speaks and we've not used the woke word to activate beforehand naturally.
I have 2 laptops, 2 mobile phones and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 as well obviously. My mum has her non smartphone and laptop also.
And a new tumble dryer was purchased last week that my friend fitted in this week because the heating elements on our old one had gone which would've cost the same price getting a new dryer so it made sense to buy a newer version instead.

Just deleted Chrome. I never knew that about it. Been using it for quite a while, since Firefox I had lots of problems with it when I last used it, and deleted it. Might give it another try and see if it works for me again, or I'll get Edge.

I don't need all these modernized smart gadgets. I wanna rely on muscles and doing something on my own, with my own hands and all. Otherwise, we may lose the ability to write, communicate and enjoy simple things in life.

As far as I can tell, nothing has happened to the Internet today.
Guess this was another Y2K, something people got worked up about for no reason.

I changed my default internet browser I started using yesterday from Mozilla Firefox to Microsoft Edge because it has a button on YouTube which you press to cast videos to your tv that Firefox doesn't have so I've made that my backup one and this one my first obviously.
If I do update my tv at some point that'll either be when it's broken or been massively priced down in a sale.

Nope. But since the report said that it doesn't affect Firefox browsers since they don't have a security standard that expires. We all should be okay if we update our computers or use Firefox. I think the ones worst off will be the ones who have very old laptops, phones or computers. We shall see.

Could be.
Or this was just another Y2K and Mayan Calendar thing.

I also didn't have any problems. Well, rumors tend to grow quickly.
