Jenna Dewan Joins S&L Reprising role as Lucy Lane

If you ask me, we should boycott those games (like we did in 1980 for the Moscow games).  Why support a brutal regime that has no respect for human rights.

Of course, to Lucy, that family has always existed, since her memories would have been changed by Crisis.

Speaking of family dynamics, we know Jenna Dewan's Lucy Lane is showing up this season. What can we expect from her arrival?



In season 1 you obviously get to know Lois, and you get to know General Lane [Dylan Walsh]. You come to understand their fraught relationship and many of the reasons for it. We hit a lot of those, but we never talked about Lois' mom. We never said her sister's name once. We really wanted to get into why is Lane the way he is, why is Lois the way she is?

Both of those characters are in a situation where Lane's wife just leaves one day, and Lois' mom just leaves one day, and Lucy's mom just leaves one day, what does that do to a family? When you meet Lucy, it'll explain a lot why Lois is the way she is, and what she's searching for life, and how she's dealing with everything as an adult.

And Jenna Dewan is coming on as Lucy, but this is not the Lucy she played on Supergirl.

No, it’s not. We were able to do that thanks to the blanket of Crisis, which sort of rewrote characters.

So not only do you get to recreate Lucy Lane, but it also gives Jenna a chance to completely reinvent a character she’s already inhabited.

Yeah. And she was so lovely and on-board and excited about it.

And what is this Lucy like?

I don’t wanna give away too much, but I’ll say she is the complete opposite of Lois. Like, Lois is very secure in her marriage to Clark and as a mother to the boys, and in her job. Lucy is none of those. [Laughs]


And do you have plans to actually introduce the mother?

You know, I don’t know if that’ll happen this season. But yes, in the future, we wanna bring her in.

Well, she hasn't been seen since S1 of SG in five years, and a Crisis happened. Not surprised she's different than she was on Supergirl.

[Tim]

Can't wait to see her.
