Another favorite series of mine as a teen or kid.
Riptide is a name of detective agency in L.A. with three members: Cody Allen, Nick Ryder and Murray "Boz" Bozinsky. All three got to know each other during the Vietnam war and well, Cody and Nick need help in their agency and since we're in the 1980ies, computers are the modern way of technology at this time. Not to forget to mention: Roboz, the roboter of Boz who's helping the three from time to time.
Some tools of the boys: the helicopter Screaming Mimi, owned by Nick; the Ebbtide and also different cars.
Main cast: Perry King - Cody Allen Joe Penny - Nick Ryder Thom Bray - Murray "Boz" Bozinsky
Several guest stars became famous later on. Just to name a few: Geena Davis, George Clooney, Claudia Christian or were already famous like Richard Hatch.
Airing dates: USA Jan 3, 1984 - Aug 22, 1986; Germany June 27, 1985 - 1991 (or later)
One difference though. One double episode in S3 was shortened to one here in Germany, yet I got it now as an original double one in English.
Some pics:
Today then I start with the pilot (90 mins) and as before a daily episode!!

Thom Bray (the Boz) was in the movie Prince Of Darkness, which came out in 1987. His character was killed off fairly early on in the film.
Yeah, George Clooney did a lot of shows as a guest star, before ER make him famous.

I remember Boz or Thom Bray also from the movie "Deep Star Six" with Greg Evigan where his character also got killed off very quickly. Tried to follow some actors here as well but as always, lost track of time - and them.

Yeah, that too. His movie characters aren't very lucky.

Seems that way. I think my favorite character was Cody, yet it switched from time to time. Can't really remember here.

Joe Penny did another show, a couple of years later, called Jake And The Fatman.

I know. Saw him there too, I guess. As said earlier, was a tele-holic at one time in my life. Sadly enough, it only lasted three seasons.

We will see what I can achieve here. But now watching it, made me cringe of the humor back then, especially regarding to Boz. lol

So, I was doing some research on my trio here (on IMDB), because of some fanfiction I read. Never mind. There was actually a surprise in it. Would you have known that "Cody" and "Boz" share the same birthday? Meaning Perry King was born April 30, 1948 and Thom Bray just six years later. Ergo, Joe Penny was the youngest one here. He was born June 24, 1956. I bet there were some parties on when the two of three celebrated their birthdays together.
