Me too. This bothered me so much more than wondering who the Liars end up with. I couldn't agree more, that Noel and Wren had horrible endings. So many mysteries got abandoned and we never learnt more. The Jenna/Shana/Melissa alliance went nowhere. The Jenna/Sydney story in S5 went nowhere. I could go on. And, let's not forget the biggest and worst abandoned mystery of them all -- Bethany Young. A runaway from Radley who was wearing Ali's clothes on That Night and somehow ended up in her grave. The show suspiciously went out of its way to never show her face except as a young child. EVERYBODY was led on to believe that she was someone's long lost twin, usually either Ali's or Spencer's. She had to be someone very important, right? LOLnope. None of those questions were ever answered, and Bethany ultimately ended up being nothing more than a random friend of Charlotte's who was unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was never any mystery to her, and it was just an accident on the show's part that we never saw her face. I can't stand shipper pandering. A problem we face in a social media world today. I was so proud when they had Toby and Ezra as A, I cheered, and then they undid it and I rolled my eyes. I actually like Paily and of course the one ship I actually liked was the one that wasn't to be. If the spin-off Caleb was on took off, then Haleb never happens. Ezria should of gone the way of the books and ended for good after season 3. I liked Aria with Jason too with the little we saw. I hated Ezria from Day One, and my dream ending would've been for Ezra to be the Big Bad and end up in jail for statutory rape and murder. It is SERIOUSLY messed up that the show kept on trying to sell a teacher/student relationship as this great "forbidden love" who deserved to live Happily Ever After. Plus, Ezria were boring as shit to watch. They had no chemistry, and their storylines always felt like an unnecessary interruption from the A mystery. Making Ezra the bad guy would've actually made that nonsense worth it.

She had so much story and then it went nowhere as typical of PLL. At least Riverdale has got one thing right, and that each mystery is wrapped up after 1 season. That is how you do it, and not drag it out. Much like Desperate Housewives did. I didn't mind them originally, but I was hoping they were going to be done for good after a few seasons. Now looking at how it ended, It makes me not like them anymore now. They are boring to me now. Ezra being the bad guy would of made that whole story worth it. My only saving grace of the final episode was Mona. Honestly how Mona's story ended left me happy. That is the only moment in the whole final I liked a lot that final scene with her. I wished the series ended with the Mona scene and they dropped the plot with the boring new characters.

Yeah, that's probably the safest way to handle a show like this. Makes it easier to either continue the show or end it without majorly screwing up storylines, although most shows still really shouldn't go on past 4 or 5 seasons. Mona was practically the only saving grace of the later seasons as a whole. Her character was always so fun to watch, because you never knew what her next move was, and she constantly flipped back and forth between "good" and "bad." She had the best chemistry with Hanna, too, and I loved their messy, complicated friendship.

Angel particuarly still stings all these years. I wished we got a season 6. I didn't mind them originally, but I was hoping they were going to be done for good after a few seasons. Seasonal Rot almost always works its way in after a few seasons. Mona was really the most fun to watch later on. If only we saw more of Melissa and Jenna after season 3, who I love so much too. She had a great relationship with Hanna, and I loved their chemistry too. It sometimes feels like those characters benefited from being neither Liars or love interests. They didn't have a ton of shippers crying about them on Twitter, so that ironically meant they were freer to have richer storylines and more layered characterizations than any of the main four or their love interests since doing things with them didn't incite the wrath of hordes of shippers. The main reason we didn't get more with Melissa and Jenna was because the show couldn't keep their actors around.

Seasonal Rot almost always works its way in after a few seasons. That's so true. It always seems to happen. Some shows are just lucky it doesn't, or it has a couple of season where it sucks, but recovers. Mona was really the most fun to watch later on. It sucks we didn't get more of them because the actors were not around. I would of for sure made those two regulars. It's funny that neither were, they felt like regulars in the earlier seasons. If I had it my way, I'd write Ezra off for good after season 4.

It's funny that neither were, they felt like regulars in the earlier seasons. Yet, they had no qualms about keeping all the main love interests around, no matter how useless or irrelevant they were. If I had it my way, I'd write Ezra off for good after season 4. If I had my way, the show itself would've been written off for good after Season 4. That's what they originally planned, and that's plenty of time to tell the full story. Two years in 11th grade, two years in 12th grade. S1-2 about Mona as A, S3-4 about the A-Team and Big A. Fewer seasons with a tighter, more cohesive story.

Ain't that the truth and it ruined the show. I honestly didn't care for them at all. I was hoping one of the main love interests would die, but no they had to give them all a happy ending. How boring. If I had it my way, I'd write Ezra off for good after season 4. If I had my way, the show itself would've been written off for good after Season 4. Of course, that didn't happen. Once again Executive Meddling by a network ruined a show.

I've been looking for this thread, and at first couldn't find it... Anyways...
So I didn't like the finale. Like most fans. Instead of focusing on the mystery which should have been their top priority, they decided to focus more on the ships. Of course. Because catering to a bunch of stupid teenagers and writing bad romance subplots is more important than properly wrapping things up, and giving the fans something to be proud of it. I don't think I would mind the ships so much if they were actually interesting, but they're not. At some point they all became boring. I hated the whole mess with Caleb, Spencer and Hanna, but even more after seeing that scene where Caleb cries at Spencer's door and talks about how much he likes her, with Hanna listening in- that was a great scene, with really great acting but of course nothing came out of it, and Caleb and Hanna got back together with no problem. I hated how Hanna was trying to get pregnant in the finale: she's only twenty-three years old, maybe twenty-four, why is she thinking about having a baby??? I don't like Emily and Alison together, because I just can't get by the way Alison treated her when they were kids... Sorry... Spencer and Toby- blah. Ezra and Aria- blah. Boring, and I actually like them in the beginning (I choose to pretend Season 4 B never happened, the same way the beginning of season 5 of Charmed never happened, either.)
Now about the last and final A... I didn't like it. It was so cliché, and despite Troian's good acting overall that accent was bad bad bad.
I like how they made Aria a minion of A, and thought it was really funny how bad she was at it... I also really liked the episode (can't remember which one it was, sorry), where's she talking to herself in the car with the body in the trunk (I know the producers were trying to throw a few crumbs at the fans, but it was still funny. I would have liked to see more of that.)

From what I have read, many were disappointed by the finale. As I said above, Executive Meddling can ruin a good show, and sadly, that was the case with PLL.

Yeah, I saw this that they are doing. Good for Holly to keep busy and offer fans something with the other cast members.
Sadly a Charmed version of this will never happen with a podcast recapping episodes with the cast, even if the cast were talking, they'd never be able to get the crew on like this podcast might do.
