The former mayor is clearly involved in something shady. I hope Lana will be okay this season. I feel like he's going to make her life hell.
I like the new Jonathan.
Jordan you are not ready to be handling stuff like that crane. I'm glad Clark got there in time. Hopefully, he trains him on how to handle stuff like that.
Figured Lois wasn't pregnant. I wonder what's wrong with her.

Chrissy/Kyle is a weird pairing. Hopefully nothing more comes out of this. Yeah, I felt the same. How I missed this show. Welcome back! I like that this episode was quieter episode. Obviously the calm before the storm, but I think we needed this episode to be less action-heavy. We don't need to get such big stuff in the first episode, you build towards it. We needed a slow paced episode to get back into the show after a long break since S2.

I agree if Jordan's gonna be like his dad in the superhero business he'll need to be careful what he does so no one is endangered then which Clark being the experienced pro will be a good person to teach him like he did last year flying obviously.
One of the things Jordan will have to do in that department is think before he acts and not rush into everything.
I get it will take fans time to accept the new Jonathan so of course, Michael didn't have as many scenes in the premiere episode.
I'm sure people will see him more going forward.
Poor Nat. I can understand why she'd be upset that Sam taking her to the movies wasn't so to bond with her but try and recruit her into the DOD instead. I'd be the same in her situation too probably.
Fingers crossed things change, and the two of them develop a better relationship.
Not sure what to make of Kyle and Chrissy yet which does sound slightly weird actually.
Perhaps the writers will surprise viewers there maybe.

What a great opening episode! I guessed pretty much immediately that Lois wouldn't actually be pregnant, she perhaps has some kind of illness, something that will likely link with the overall seasonal plot I'm guessing.
New Jon! I have to admit, I thought he fit in seamlessly, he was absolutely perfect. His scenes with Lois and driving felt natural, his scenes with Jordan were also great. To my surprise, no complaints whatsoever, BUT I am hoping he gets an actual storyline this season, one that will really help his character growth. I did feel bad for him though, having to take a driving test on his birthday of all days!
The Langs - wanted to punch the old mayor lol, imagine turning up to someone's else's birthday party to yell at the new mayor? Selfish and annoying but clearly Lana is accidentally messing with something she shouldn't be, my theory is that money is for the shady gangster we saw at the end, and this probably links with whatever Lois is sick with as well.
Jordan and Sara - please God just let it die already, beyond time to move on and give them both something else to do.
I did like that we're getting more expansion on the Irons', with Nat getting closer to Sam and we got to see John's sister again (I wonder if he will try to contact her again?), literally in another world she was Lois' sister in law!
Anyway, great start. Intriguing mystery being set up. This really is one of the best shows on TV when its firing on all cylinders.

Well, I'm back as well. Was a great start with the new fortress and Jordan seems to want to be a hero himself way too quickly. Glad that Dad intervened. New Jon was also not bad, at least what I could see. More bonding though with Nat, Sam and John who were a family in a another world. Jesus, there's the headache again. Jordan and Sara should be done now. Friends okay, as said but nothing more. The Superman secret is on too many people now, and it may backfire. Lana wants so much for Smallville but there are many stones in the way. And Lois may being pregnant, well, there might be more - with time. Hopefully more next week!

Good to have one of our most popular shows back. Sure is Tim. I see nearly everyone in this thread plus returning members post their reviews. I caught the episode this morning. Don't have much to add since everybody covered everything. I did want to point out just little changes I notice some hairstyle among the character have occured. Chrissy and Sarah. Also nice that Jonathan got his drivers liesence but surprised Jordon didn't. I suppose being able to fly. He doesn't need to rely on a car like Jon. Lol I forget you can get your liesence at 16 in America. Here in Australia it's 18 same as drinking age.

Decent premiere. I have to say why Kyle and Lana had to break up. It makes him seem redundant for the show, which is annoying as I quite like him. It's just he doesn't have anything really left to do other than just be around for his girls. Is that why they had him sleep with Chrissy? I hope they give him a story because he kinda feels like he could just be downgraded to recurring. Nice to see Henry Miller again. Nice call-back to the season 1 flashback where Lois witnessed Clark fighting. It was the scene where she named him Superman. I'm surprised with Lois's health, Clark didn't take her to where he has access to Kryptonian super-science at either fortress (among other places) to examine her possible pregnancy or what the issue might be. New Jonathan seems alright. Also welcome back DC Fanatic and mysticboy.

Interesting to note that The Flash has been back for some time now, yet there has been nary a post about it.
Well, watching that show has become a chore for me (I'm only doing it because it's the last season). It doesn't fire me up the way S&L does.

I've been watching, but haven't posted reviews. I did now, might get the ball rolling if others have. I agree Tim it isn't firing me up like S&L, which clearly literally everyone came running once they saw it to review. We have 11 or 12 of us watching it.

I could be wrong of course, but like you say he's fairly redundant now. But it would make for juicy drama if he and Lana were about to re-connect and then he dies heroically saving someone else.
