Filming on the fourth and final season of “Superman & Lois” is underway, with Elizabeth Tulloch (who plays Lois Lane) sharing a photo of the front cover of the script for the first episode.




Titled “The End & The Beginning,” the first episode of Season 4 is written by Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing, and directed by Gregory Smith.

Season 3 of “Superman & Lois” ended in the middle of a brutal showdown as Lex Luthor unleashed his ultimate weapon: a Doomsday created from the reanimated corpse of Bizarro. Superman and Doomsday clash, their fight escalating from Smallville to Metropolis and ultimately spilling onto the moon in a cliffhanger ending. Just as Doomsday gains the upper hand and sends Superman unconscious through space, Lois’ love and memories reignite Clark’s will to fight, leaving the epic battle’s outcome hanging in the balance.

An emoji is worth a thousand words, especially when that emoji is being sent by DC Studios’ new co-CEO.

James Gunn on Monday dropped a pair of praise hands on a Threads post by Superman & Lois star Bitsie Tulloch, who shared the front cover of her script for the CW drama’s final season premiere, which we now know to be titled “The End and the Beginning.” (See the exchange here.)

This may seem like a minor comment to some, but the truth is that even a passing acknowledgement of Superman & Lois is a big deal for Gunn, who’s currently hard at work on the next big-screen iteration of the Man of Steel’s story; Gunn is writing and directing 2025’s Superman: Legacy, which stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Gunn and producing partner Peter Safran officially stepped into their roles as co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios in November 2023, overseeing “the overall creative direction of the storied superhero franchise across film, TV and animation under a new, unified banner.”

Superman & Lois is just beginning production on its 10-episode fourth and final season, which is expected to premiere sometime this spring. The show’s third season concluded in June with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) facing off against iconic DC villain Doomsday, who is now seemingly immortal after getting an assist from Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz). Both Hoechlin and Cudlitz are returning as series regulars in Season 4, along with Bitsie Tulloch as Lois, Alex Garfin as Jordan and Michael Bishop as Jonathan.

And you can't invoke the strikes as the cause of this delay.  All the other networks were crippled by those same strikes, but they've managed to get their shows going again in a reasonable time frame.

Agreed. S&L has started production. No excuses for not giving fans a date. All the networks are back up and running from February onwards, March at the latest.

If this is one of those things where they want to film it all and then give it a release then I suppose we might not be getting it until the late Summer/Autumn? (for the Northern hemisphere)

It's a lovely set of photos. I enjoyed looking at them.

But still no date. It's clear that we won't see Walker and Superman and Lois until the summer. Total silence on a release date is giving me the sign it isn't going to air until mid-year at the earliest.
