Hopefully she really stops smoking after the therapy. Then I see a good future for her.

I'm sure Shannen will stop smoking when she recovers. This is one hell of a wake up call that smoking KILLS!

This is really good news to hear. She's going to beat this horrible disease. We're all rooting for her!

Rose posted an awesome message for Shannen on Instagram: http://instagr.am/p/BKUkX8PDsTC The cartoon that was posted is pretty cute. Rose herself is now bald, having shaved her hair last November. Both look beautiful with or without hair. Once Shannen gets better, it'd be cool to see them team up for a project. Like, Rose could direct a movie starring Shannen, or something like that.

That was nice of Rose to post this message to her Charmed sister.
Good for Rose for calling Hollywood out on how women are treated there. Hard to believe that this is happening in 2016. Rose and Shannen were never enemies, despite what some gossip rags said.
One can see why Rose is becoming so disenfranchised with Hollywood.
Yeah, it would be nice to see Rose direct a movie starring Shannen.

Here's a photo of them together from 2004: Rose has always had good things to say about Shannen, and Shannen also thought Rose did a good job on Charmed. Rose has always called herself a feminist, but she's started to become more hardcore about it as she's gotten older and started to feel more of the the brunt of Hollywood sexism. Studios stopped casting her in roles because she no longer looked like a young 20-something, and she started getting attacked and harassed online for her appearance. Her shaving her head was a protest statement against Hollywood beauty standards and the expectation on women to base their appearance on what men want. Alas, this is an issue that Shannen can probably relate to. Long before cancer, she had been struggling to get good roles and was getting attacked a lot for her looks, in addition to the reputation she had garnered from BH 90210 and Charmed.

Nice to see the two "sisters" together in the picture.
No doubt the main reason Rose has moved behind the camera. At least there she can be respected for her talents, not how she looks.
Producers probably looked at Shannen's resume, saw that she'd gotten kicked off of two series and thought: "Don't bother, she's trouble."
However, there are two sides to every story. Did they even bother to hear Shannen's side, I wonder.

I'm now starting to wonder if Rose's issues with staying on the show past Season 5 weren't just about her not being used to the schedule of television but also the way the producers were treating her and her character. We now know from more recent interviews and videos just how much Rose hated the direction the show went in after Season 4 and the way Kern and the network wanted to exploit the bodies of her and Alyssa for fanservice. I'm imagining a scene where Rose went up to Kern and expressed her displeasure with a storyline only for him to tell her to shut up and threaten to give her the "Shannen treatment."
We already know this is most likely how Shannen got fired, so the Charmed set had to have been fairly hostile for the leads. The show not only needed a different showrunner, but one that respected women and was willing to listen to the leads whenever they felt uncomfortable or disliked a storyline.

You know, that is entirely possible. Rose has been very open in her criticism of the direction the show went in the later seasons and how her character was treated. It was clear that the network and producers had no respect for female actors and felt they should be seen and not heard. Spelling can be excused because his values were formed in the 1950's, when that behavior in Hollywood was the norm. What was Kern's excuse?
Shannen no doubt went to Kern and expressed her dislike of the direction that the show was going in. An uppity woman telling him how to run his show, Kern was having none of that, Shannen had to go.
However, does he sit Shannen down and fire her then. No, the gutless coward waits until she's here in Canada, shooting a TV movie, and fires her over the phone.
Shannen is a professional, she deserved better treatment than she got.

Yeah, I like that too. Good to know that some Charmed sisters are still in contact.

Even if the two sisters never actually worked together on the show

Perhaps Rose has or had a relative or friend with breast cancer whom she identifies with who knows.

That's possible.
It's nice to see Rose and Shannen interacting like that. I believe there co-starred in a movie, before Charmed started, but I can't remember what it's called.
