The pilot was interesting. The result of the villian messing with time is that the Hindenburg ended up being destroyed a day later than it originally was, and with far less loss of life. And this change was not undone when the episode ended.
At the end of the episode, when Lucy Preston returned home, she found her formerly terminally ill mother alive and well. However, Lucy's younger sister, Amy, does not exist in this new time line.
How changing the fate of the Hindenburg caused this, well, you got me.
This show has promise. I'm gonna stick with it.

And this week's episode answered that question. Seems that Lucy's father, instead of marrying her mother, married the descendant of someone that was supposed to die on the Hindenburg. Her father and mother never met. Since her father was the cause of Lucy's mother to start smoking, that never happened. Of course, Lucy asks how she can still exist and realizes that the man she thought was her father wasn't. Which is why she didn't cease to exist like her sister (or I should say half-sister) Amy did when the time line was changed. To complicate matters further, in this new time line, Lucy is engaged and has a fiance, whom she has never met before

This is a good show, with an interesting take on time travel.
Several episodes has had historical figures dying at the wrong times, as the characters change history. The big thing is that these changes are not undone by the end of the episode.

Well that tells you not to mess with time travel.
Seen the show advertised on TV in England but not watched it obviously.

The reason that the heroes can't change things back is because they can only visit a specific time period once. If they try to go back, it could kill them all, because they can't exist in the same time period twice.
Also, they can't go back to a time within their lifetimes for the same reason. For example, if it were me, I would be unable to visit any time after October 28th, 1966. Since all our heroes were born in the 1980's, the last 35 years or so are off limits.

The ratings weren't good enough to keep it going I guess obviously.
I felt the same way with The Sarah Connor Chronicles like I've said before which had okay ratings season 2 wise.

And, worst of all, Timeless ended on a cliff hanger. A cliff hanger that will now never get resolved They really need to stop doing season ending cliff hangers, or don't do one until you know that your show has been renewed for another season.

Unless the show didn't know they weren't goanna be renewed till after they'd filmed the finale although they could've reshoot the ending I suppose.

That's probably what happened. Timeless has its season (or series, I should say) finale in March. The cancellation was announced this week. Still sucks though

And so back to the New Shows forum this thread goes. Looks like the fans of this show really came together and made their voices heard. This does not happen very often. So I guess that cliff hanger will be resolved after all. Granted we'll have to wait until 2018 to see it, but it's better than nothing

That is strange to hear because it doesn't happen a lot usually in TV.

From what I have heard, Timeless will be back next year sometime.
I'm glad this show is getting a second chance. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
