I remember No Doubt and Gwen Stefani back in the 90's very well plus Nickelback and Alanis to. I have various songs from each of them.
I watched Daria also from time to time when it was on my local TV channel then.
The 90's had some good songs actually.

As long as this show makes NO references to anything made by Pauly Shore!

Honestly, I think 'Rock Steady' and Gwen's solo career was selling out as well. But, I think they really really sold out when they put that one album back in 2011. It sounded so mainstream! ('Settle Down' is just, um, ugh.) It's funny, because my mom has 'Tragic Kingdom,' 'Return to Saturn,' and 'Rock Steady' (all listened to plenty of times by me during my childhood)- but not any of their previous albums. They had two or three albums put out before that. I guess my parents don't really like ska? Both really great songs as well! I always remember pretending to be Rapunzel when 'The Sweet Escape' came on on the radio. Nickelback isn't really my thing either. :/ But for some reason, I can't get enough of that emo stuff (but not too emo). But it's probably because I'm a teenager. Man, that was an awesome song! Thanks for sharing it with me. Also, I haven't seen Daria, but I've definitely heard of it. I will check it out when I can. Maybe it'll give me some inspiration. Who knows?

Yeah, he's one aspect of the 90's we'd all like to forget.
However, I do like this idea for a show. Like the 80's, the 90's are a decade I fully remember living through. It would be fun to revisit that time again.
And it would be fun for you, Megan, since you didn't arrive on the scene until the 90's were almost over.

No kidding! It's going to be interesting, especially since I hardly know anything about that era except for the music. But, that's the vibe I'm going for.

Honestly, I think 'Rock Steady' and Gwen's solo career was selling out as well. But, I think they really really sold out when they put that one album back in 2011. It sounded so mainstream! ('Settle Down' is just, um, ugh.) *Googles it* It appears that album, Push and Shove, actually came out in 2012, not 2011. Here's the song you mentioned. I agree that it's pretty blah. They were clearly going for a fake reggae/Caribbean sound, which pretty much translated into Gwen sounding like she was trying to imitate Rhianna. It's funny, because my mom has 'Tragic Kingdom,' 'Return to Saturn,' and 'Rock Steady' (all listened to plenty of times by me during my childhood)- but not any of their previous albums. They had two or three albums put out before that. I guess my parents don't really like ska? I don't think most people have their first two albums. Both were released independently, and neither were commercially successful. Tragic Kingdom was their big breakout hit, so most people see that as their "first" album. Nickelback isn't really my thing either. :/ But for some reason, I can't get enough of that emo stuff (but not too emo). But it's probably because I'm a teenager. As far as 00s rock music went, Nickelback was the Source of All Evil, LOL. This still cracks me up to this day. Man, that was an awesome song! Thanks for sharing it with me. Also, I haven't seen Daria, but I've definitely heard of it. I will check it out when I can. Maybe it'll give me some inspiration. Who knows? You're welcome. Daria's an excellent show, so I definitely recommend it. I think that show also does a great job of capturing the late 90s from a teenage girl perspective. Try to find non-DVD copies of the episodes if you can, though, as they replaced all of the music on the DVDs.

Those damned copyright laws again. *sigh*
Perhaps they should do a live action sitcom of Daria, and set it in the 1990's. Would that work?

Shows how much I cared about that one- I didn't even bother to Google it! XD *Rihanna (that's fine, I can't spell her name either) Now that I listened to it again, it doesn't sound half bad... but for a No Doubt song, it's definitely still lacking. That reminds me of (sorry) Sum 41's album, 'Half Hour of Power.' They don't consider it their first album, even if it had a single released off of it! ('Makes no Difference,' to be specific.) But their real breakthrough was 'All Killer, No Filler.' And I'm still on the lookout for that one, too, every time I go to the flea market or a garage sale. Oh man, I love that video! It shows how uncreative Chad & co can get. XD Oh, that's fine. I mostly watch everything online anyway. Thanks! I'll definitely plan to watch it tonight! I'm actually quite excited.

As most of the Millennial lot do.
Guess when my generation finally dies off, broadcast networks will go with it.

I feel really bad for TV actually. I don't watch a whole (just My Little Pony, really), but I would watch my shows on there if they were on at better times on school nights.

I generally prefer to watch things online, myself. I despise commercials, and the DVDs of a lot of shows often have replaced music. Hope you enjoy Daria, Sena09.

Yeah, it will be a lost art in a few decades.
Me too. Thank God for AdBlock.
