Betty have you seen all the recent rumors surrounding the new Switch games? Sounds very intriguing, all signs are pointing towards "Let's Go Pokemon" being a real thing.

These are more than just rumors. Domains were actually registered yesterday: It's obvious that GF/Nintendo are doing damage control after that Let's Go Pikachu logo got out. They have no choice but to officially reveal the games now. Also, this was posted at 4Chan back in April: Pretty clever, if you ask me. What better way to make a real leak slip under the radar (and past Nintendo's lawyers) than to post it on April Fool's, when fake leaks are a dime-a-dozen and nobody will believe anything that gets posted? It's hilarious how much salt this is generating from the fandom. I hope Sinnoh Babies are forced to wait until 2030 for remakes. Serves them right after Lucario, Piplup, and Cynthia were needlessly shoehorned into M20.

Well personally I am THRILLED. FINALLY a Pokemon game that sounds like it has potential, a modern, updated Kanto sounds excellent to me, I just hope Pokemon Go isn't as big a feature as the leak suggests, I hate that game. But everything else I've heard sounds good, my hopes are cautiously raised.
Though one thing does confuse me, why on Earth are they even bothering with the Pikachu version? Who in their right mind would pick the rat over Eevee which has several different evolutions? Weird.

Well then, I won't sugarcoat it, this looks like complete crap.
I think the biggest disappointment for me is that you apparently can't battle any wild Pokemon you find, they come up and its just the Go mechanic of catching, no battles, you only level your Pokemon up via trainer battles.
And I'm guessing you can't evolve your Pikachu or Eevee which adds to the suckage. And limiting it to only gen 1 Pokemon? WHY?! Its 2018! Other Pokemon exist dammit!
I would be more inclined to get this if there was an option to play it without all the Go stuff. But it seems mandatory.

I would be more inclined to get this if there was an option to play it without all the Go stuff. But it seems mandatory. Yup, you're right about Pikachu/Eevee not evolving. Yes, Eevee, THE EVOLUTION POKEMON, will not be able to evolve in this game. And, the fact that Gen 2/3 Pokemon caught in Go can't be transferred suggests that Pokemon past #151 don't even exist in LGPE's data, which means that we won't even get the FRLG scenario of having to wait until the postgame for #152+. And, speaking of FRLG, don't expect the Sevii Islands to return either. It should be painfully obvious that these games are 100% Yellow + Go, so I don't expect any FRLG-exclusive content to appear or even be referenced. Considering that people had previously been talking about sequels with a Johto postgame, this is a massive letdown. This is little more than a cheap cash grab and not at all worth getting a Switch for. Combine that with a Gen 8/2019 release that's expected to be another boring new region like Kalos/Alola, and my interest in new Pokemon games is officially over. Romhacks are now where it's at. Fans will go the extra mile that GF won't. Skip LGPE and go play Red++ or Polished Crystal instead.

What I do find strange with them just using the original 151 is that they're essentially erasing their own continuity.
No Eeveelutions, no Pichu, no Magby, no Elekid, no Smoochum, no Crobat, no Tangrowth, like.....these Pokemon exist! Why are they not here?! I'd accept the original 151 + all the pre-evolved and "new" evolutions they received, not like they're new, Crobat and Pichu et. al have been around since gen 2, with Tangrowth, Magmortar being around since 2006 with gen 4! Very bizarre.
I admit I'm feeling a tad more positive about it knowing that they're still working on the "real" game due out next year, I am hoping this Go clone game will satisfy all the brain dead morons who can't handle real trainer battles on easy mode while they're saving all the good stuff that real players want for 2019. I can accept this as a bare bones transition game to get the kiddies satisfied. And they've already confirmed that the 2019 games will not feature ANY Go connectivity or catching techniques, so they knew this would be a trial, controversial move and have acknowledged it as such, at the very least we have that.
We don't know anything about the 2019 games so I am hard pressed to pass any judgment on them when for all we know they could be amazing.
Tbh for all of five seconds I was excited because my favorite Pokemon of all time is Vaporeon, so I thought maybe, just maybe for the first time ever I could have gotten a new Pokemon game and essentially gotten my favorite Pokemon as my starter, but nope, they can't evolve, which is just completely outrageous, why exactly shouldn't they be able to evolve? Makes no sense at all. What it boils down to is they're to lazy to input code for all the necessary evolutions, they can't be-bothered to program you being able to dress up your Flareon or balance your Jolteon on your head.
I'm only seeing maybe one or two positives with these games. 1/ An updated Kanto. Its not a sequel, its firmly a remake, but at the very least we get to see an upgraded, 3D, HD version of Kanto, that's something. And 2/ The salt about these games being in Kanto is I must admit, giving me some kind of life force, its delicious seeing all the bitterness online from people who wanted Sinnoh remakes.

Dammit, why does GF keep murdering my favorite player characters? Is Hilda Jr. another Lyra or another Orlando? Either way, Green (my second favorite girl) has just been sent to the same dustbin Kris (my favorite girl) and Brendan (my favorite boy) are currently residing in. I guess it's my own fault for preferring characters with unique, interesting designs and not hopping aboard the Red/Dawn/Serena bandwagon like everyone else. And, with the Switch not expected to have any Virtual Console, Green and Brendan won't even get saved by that like Kris was when Crystal was re-released on the 3DS. Looks like the GBA era has been entirely left in the dust. Also, I'm no fan of him, but Lucas is sooooo doomed when Sinnoh finally gets its turn. The fact that he was left out of Generations should've been a warning sign, and his design is also extremely unpopular. I don't think even GF/Nintendo themselves like that beret, lol. What I do find strange with them just using the original 151 is that they're essentially erasing their own continuity. No Eeveelutions, no Pichu, no Magby, no Elekid, no Smoochum, no Crobat, no Tangrowth, like.....these Pokemon exist! Why are they not here?! Very bizarre. I don't get it either. Even most so-called "G**wunners" (Do they even exist?) still love Gen 2. I can understand leaving out monsters from later games, but Gen 2 is still Pokemania Era! Johto is Kanto's next door neighbor! Several Gen 2 Pokemon are native to Kanto! It was stupid enough that they tried to erase that connection in FRLG, and it's an outright insult that they're doing it a second time in LGPE. What makes it an even bigger slap in the face is all the "Let's Go to Johto" promotion we've been getting with M21. Looks like that was nothing more than shallow fanservice. We don't know anything about the 2019 games so I am hard pressed to pass any judgment on them when for all we know they could be amazing. Given that the 2019 games were compared to XY and SM, it's hard for me to expect anything besides yet another isolated new region that revolves around yet another new battle gimmick, which I can't get excited about at all. I don't care about new gens anymore, and I especially don't care about things like Mega Evolutions and Z-Moves. Wake me up when GF figures out they can start revisiting old regions in ways besides lazy, cash grab remakes. I miss the pre-reveal days when I still thought LGPE were going to be Kanto/Johto sequels and unique, innovative games full of new content that were worth the price tag. Silly me.

Yeah I was talking to my brother about it yesterday how Game Freak keeps rebooting the female characters especially when it comes to the remakes, I'm not sure what they're thinking when it comes to that, there is a reason those initial characters were popular.

This is from an anime director, but GF abides by the same principle: So then I said, “Why can’t you just ditch Brock, have Ash, have Misty, and then bring in a new boy? That would be switching up things instead of having a new girl.” His following answers made me laugh my head off I had to pick it up off the floor and reattach it. He stated that they like to switch up the girls because it gives the boys some new eye candy every once in a while. He also said girls are more customizable and you can change their outfits, like when they are in their bathing suits (yes, he specifically said that). Need to "freshen up" a stale remake? Bring in some new "eye candy" for the horny fanboys to drool at, of course! Won't they just love Lyra's thigh highs and Baby Hilda's booty shorts? And, who gives a crap about Kris and Green, anyways? It's not like they were on the show like May, Dawn, and Serena. Oh, you think we're being sexist? Well, here's Orlando, er... "Brendan." Yeah, that's right. Check out his bronze tan and sixpack! What, who's this pale kid with white-looking hair you mention? He doesn't exist!

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe the audacity with that comment. This is supposed to be a game, not a porno. As in regards to the anime, does anyone even still watch it? I was on Neflix a few days ago and watched the first few episodes of the original Indigo League series and it felt so refreshing.

I was on Neflix a few days ago and watched the first few episodes of the original Indigo League series and it felt so refreshing. It seems like even most of the people who were still following the show tuned out after XY. SM's ratings have been horrid, and for obvious reasons. Nobody wants to watch Pokemon as a mediocre slapstick comedy with ugly animation, and it doesn't even do much with the characters and plots from the games, which is really bad when we're talking about games as story-heavy as U/SM. They really need to pull the plug on this dead horse and move on. ................................. Well, there was a VERY interesting leak today: Fans have been trying to get a hold of this demo for YEARS, and I never thought it would ever turn up. Amazing to see all of those old unused Pokemon designs, many of which were actually repurposed into official Pokemon much later on.

Yeah it was really cool to see, I noticed an early design for I think Leafeon, amazing how in advance they create these.
And it seems I was right aboubt game freak, they stated that they are in fact, splitting the franchise in half, by focusing on casual players with the Let's Go series and concentrating on the core series for more hardcore fans who want more of a challenge and post-game content, this makes me VERY hopeful. I know they're coming after X/Y and S/M, but at least they've acknowledged the problem and are taking steps to counter it, by keeping the casual stuff out of the core series, they could make the games very good again.

Yeah it was really cool to see, I noticed an early design for I think Leafeon, amazing how in advance they create these. Qwilfish also had an evolution that suspiciously resembles an early design of Whiscash, even right down to the lightning bolt on its forehead. Also, check out this " anchored shark" design. Remove the anchor, and you have Sharpedo. It even looked like it evolved from a piranha-based Pokemon, ala. Carvanha. Now, this find is just heartbreaking. Yes, everyone's favorite useless leek duck WAS going to get an evolution. Poor thing got robbed. And it seems I was right aboubt game freak, they stated that they are in fact, splitting the franchise in half, by focusing on casual players with the Let's Go series and concentrating on the core series for more hardcore fans who want more of a challenge and post-game content, this makes me VERY hopeful. This has both good and bad implications. It's good if it means less handholding, more exploration, and a wider, richer postgame, but it could also easily mean doubling down on the competitive-centrism of recent gens, aka. barebones Story Mode with an aggressively linear region, no postgame beyond the obligatory Battle Tower clone, new overpowered battle gimmicks, and mechanical improvements that revolve around breeding/stats/Natures and creating new "perfect" Pokemon. XY and U/SM already have zero replayability if you're not into the "metagame," and it looks like GF's solution to this issue is not making the main games more replayable, but instead just creating a new alternate branch of the main series with a chopped-down Pokemon roster and watered-down Go mechanics.

I suppose we will just have to wait and see, but in my eyes its at least half a step in the right direction. I can't see how things could get any worse than the US/UM era. I find the early designs fascinating, if you ascribe to the multiverse theory you could say that some world out there had these designs finalized and made into actual Pokemon which made it into the actual games I'd sure like to see it, though I imagine some fan out there right now is furiously working to fan-make a game including all of these designs.
