And, it's another genderbent/racebent reboot, too! Why couldn't this just be a NEW show about a Hawaiian teenage doctor? Why does it need to be a Doogie Howser reboot? Ugh!

The name "Doogie" makes no sense in this context.
In the original show, the name "Doogie" was the title characters (played by Neil Patrick Harris) nickname, because his real name was Douglas.
How in the dead gods of Krypton do you get the name "Doogie" from Lahela!?

Ouch. I know these shows back then, in their era, but it really seems Hollywood has run out of ideas if now so many reboots are in progress. *sighs*

And look how well that worked for Charmed
Hollywood has learned nothing from its mistakes.

Oh my. Male to female, what else should follow here?! And the change of race doesn't help either here, or for other shows. Hollywood seems to becoming a lost case!

They could remove the whole Doogie thing and still have the same show. Why not do that?

Don't ask me! The whole reboot thing is good but for older shows.

I have no issue with them rebooting old shows from decades ago, like Magnum P. I. and Hawaii Five-O.
However, shows made in this century and ended in this decade? No way.

Completely agree with you here. Yep, rebooting the latest shows are so not fun!!

In the case of the older shows, much of the current audience was either not born or too young to watch them. So they'll go into the reboots with a no memories of the original and might appreciate said reboot more.

Yeah, age is showing when you still remember the oldies like "MacGyver" with Richard Dean Anderson, "Hawaii Five-o" with a different Steve McGarrett and "Magnum P.I." with Tom Selleck. lol

Many will not remember these shows. Or at least not have seen them first run.

Yeah, even my memory is not that good to remember all series well. Way too many shows existed and exist.

You probably didn't see the original Hawaii Five-O and Magnum P.I. when they originally aired, Jana.
At that point, the Iron Curtain was still standing.

True, but we could watch the Western programmes, so I remember definitely "Simon & Simon". We had a lot to catch up when the wall came down.
