This show ran on ABC, from 1993 to 1997 and starred Dean Cain as Clark Kent/Superman and future Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. I enjoyed this take on the Superman legend. The main thrust of the show was the growing relationship between Lois and Clark. Fans saw it slowly develop from friendship to romance. The big surprise was when Clark, at the end of S2, proposed marriage to Lois. Clark: Lois, will you marry me? Lois: Which of you is asking, Clark or Superman? The surprise was that Lois had figured out that Clark Kent and Superman were one and the same. They had become so close that his disguise didn't fool her anymore. Of course, she kept his secret. There were many interesting story lines on this show, including the New Krypton one in which it was revealed that a colony of Kryptonians survived the destruction of their home world. Superman suddenly found himself caught between two worlds, the one had had grown up on (Earth) and the one of his heritage (Krypton). It was a good show, and I really enjoyed it. Of course, in my youth, I was a big Superman fan, so that helped.

Surprised that it hasn't been mentioned yet, but this show and Charmed have one HUGE thing in common... BRAD KERN! He took over as a co-Executive Producer in the show's final season... And, that happened to be the season where most fans felt the show went downhill. Coincidence, I think not.

So that's why things went downhill in the final season! So this makes TWO shows I liked that this clown destroyed. I weep for the fans of the new Beauty And The Beast.

I dug thus up from an old article about Charmed: That explains A LOT about him and his "writing."

I watched this in my teenage youth and had a crush on Dean Cain back in the day though Superman to me will always be Christopher Reeve.

Dean Cain was good as Clark/Superman. Kind of nice that they have him on Supergirl as Kara's human foster father.

Hehe. I was also a big Superman fan and watched this show naturally. Yeah, it was interesting but for me now a long time ago since I last watched it.

This was the last Superman based show that I watched, before Supergirl came along in 2015. I never got into Smallville. And both Teri Hatcher (Lois) and Dean Cain (Clark) have appeared on Supergirl

Since Trinity is a big fan of Superman, and has seen it, they might want to post in this thread. I loved this show too as a child. I can't believe Kern was part of it. another show he ruined near the end. I loved the earlier seasons. Interesting, that if Lois & Clark wasn't cancelled, which means he'd still be part of this show, he'd never have been hired to do Charmed a year later.

Your right about that, Dark Avenger. I had no idea Brad Kern was part of the series. That is an interesting question, had the show not been canceled, he'd never have been part of Charmed which started a year after Lois and Clark ended. I did like this show. As much as the last season sucked, I did like a few episodes. But the earlier ones were so great.

Yeah, the last season wasn't so good. Still, there was some stuff I did like.
The New Krypton arc, for example. Loved how Superman found himself caught between two worlds.

I really loved that arc too. I also didn't mind the episode where Lois was put in charge of the Daily Planet for an episode, and Perry went to a higher position.

Some people think as soon as Lois knew Clark was Superman the tone of the show changed and they didn't like it because what appealed to them about Lois and Clark was Lois not knowing Superman's identity or nearly finding that out but not totally of course.

I kind of liked it. Lois figuring it out on her own, rather than Clark telling her.

And yet you have Sophie kissing Kate Kane 2 weeks ago not guessing she's Batwoman despite Julia Pennyworth pretending to be her sometime before which you'd think Sophie would know having been in a relationship with Kate at Point Rock.
