Seems the Angry Bear ate my original thread about this show, so...
Saw the pilot, this series looks promising.
Interesting that all the Kryptonians seemed to be played by British actors. And Adam Strange, an Earthman from our time, is played by a Canadian (although his character is American).
Krypton is under threat from a planet destroying force, Brainiac. Yeah, this is the Brainiac of this show, although he sounds more like Marvel's Galactus.
As I said, this is not part of the Arrowverse. However, it may not be part of the current movie universe either. It seems to tie more into the Christopher Reeve movies, in fact, they used part of the musical score from those movies in the pilot.
So I think I'm gonna stick with this series.

Brainiac here seems a mixture of Galactus and the Borg. "You will be assimilated, uh, collected." The lady, whom Brainiac took over, reminded me of a Borg drone, just without the cybernetics covering her.
Adam doesn't seem to have a problem understanding Kryptonese. Is there a convenient Time Lord and/or TARDIS nearby?
They did a good job of making him stand out, by casting a North American actor, while all the Kryptonians are played by Brits.
Hey, there is a character named Nyssa in this show. But not THAT Nyssa! Isn't there a DC character named Nyssa Ra'Ghul?
Seg should go to the Council and warn them that something bad is coming? If Galactus, uh, Brainiac shows up, they're all doomed, regardless of their social standing.

Me, a few weeks ago...
Well, he certainly is now, Brainiac has taken him over, like he took over Rhom. So now Brainiac has de facto control of Krypton. As I said, what better way to conquer a planet than to pretend to speak for the deity of said planet.
So Nyssa (no, not that Nyssa, Tim, cool down) and her Dad are plotting to overthrow the Voice? Didn't they help him COME to power?
And what about this Black Zero lot? How did they know about Brainiac? And what is it with killing their own people? Wouldn't this be like the Bajoran resistance doing the same? Yeah, they killed their own kind, but only those that collaborated with the Cardassians.
Is Kandor the only city left on Krypton? Many times it's mentioned that "Kandor must be free," and such. No mention is made of any other city. What about Kryptonopolis and the other cities? Do they exist in this continuity?
I wonder how Krypton became the frozen wasteland it is outside Kandor? Was it a natural disaster, or something the Kryptonians did. Perhaps that is why there are seemingly no other cities anymore.

So, the reason the past is changing is not because of Brainiac, but of General Zod being there. Brainiac's attack is part of history, as he intends to take Kandor and add it to his collection (shades of the comics). However, that attack will destabilize Krypton's core, leading to the destruction of the planet, some 200 years hence.
General Zod has travelled back in time to save Krypton. Of course, he tells all this to his future mother, Lyta.
Needless to say, Seg is not too thrilled when he finds out about this. You can see his point, why bother with anything, if you know that it's all for nothing.
Of course, we know that Superman will do countless acts of good, and save countless lives. However, Seg doesn't know this, he has only Adam's word on that. Seg considers that perhaps, the life of one man is not worth an entire world.
Seg and Lyta actually go along with Zod's idea to stop Brainiac. They try to use an ancient weapon, Doomsday. It is hinted that Seg and Lyta's ancestors created Doomsday in the first place, and an ancient catastrophe is mentioned, which resulted in Krypton becoming the frozen wasteland it is now.
So, is Zod being honest in his desire to save Krypton, or is this a scheme to get rid of Superman. If Krypton doesn't blow up, Kal-El is never sent to Earth, after all.
Meanwhile, Nyssa and her dad move forward with their plan to depose the Voice Of Rao. Nyssa's day actually has a good idea, uniting with the other cities into one government. Perhaps then they can start to fix Krypton.
However, what none of then know is that the Voice Of Rao is now under Brainiac's control. A lot of them, including Lyta's mom, Jayna, found that out as the episode ended...

The only Nyssa I know in DC is from Arrow and Ra's' Al Ghaul's daughter.
Argo City where Supergirl came from and where her parents Zor-El and Alura lived was another place on Krypton which Brainiac bottled up so he could already have that one perhaps.

This is the Nyssa that I know, Nyssa of Traken. Yeah, that happened in the post crisis DC Universe: Argo City. I don't know if Supergirl exists in the continuity of this show. They've never mentioned her, only Superman.

Well, Brainiac pretty much rules Krypton now, through the Voice Of Rao. And he's assimilated his own personal army (once again, this reminds me of the Borg).
That Daron-Vex sure is a quisling, isn't he. He was so eager to save his own sorry a** that he was willing to serve Brainiac. He was even willing to throw his own daughter, Nyssa, under a bus.
Of course, this pushes Nyssa fully into Seg's camp. Of course, they all have a common enemy now, Seg, Lyta, Jayna, General Zod, and Nyssa. This alien has moved into and taken over their world.
They do make plans to stop him, however, before they can, Brainiac uses the Kryptonian's own religion against them. He convinces a crowd that he's ascended to a higher plane and offers them immortality. Of course, the poor dupes buy it.
All Seg and Co. can do is look on, knowing that Brainiac is planning to steal Kandor.
Meanwhile, Adam Strange decides that he's going to stop General Zod, so history stays on course. That means allowing Brainiac to take Kandor.
The Justice League gets a mention in this episode (Adam mentions it).

I wonder if the writers might develop a plot twist and have whatever Adam Strange does to try and stop General Zod be the thing which sets him off down the path to who he becomes later on then?

I don't think so. Adam Strange has identified Zod as Superman's greatest enemy. This seems to indicate that the two characters had a history before Zod travelled back to the past.
The big question is whether Zod is really there to save his homeworld, or does he have an agenda of his own.

We got the backstory of General Zod. He revealed to Jayne that he was in the Phantom Zone when Krypton exploded (or will explode). Jayne begins to suspect that Zod had come back in time not only to save Krypton, but to rule it.
They actually managed to get in and shoot Brainiac/the Voice Of Rao. Of course, Brainiac was not so easy to kill. He then took over little Ona, and turned her into a human bomb. He tried to blow up Seg and Co, but Adam Strange saved them. Adam was transported, somewhere. As he said as the episode ended, "What the f...."

So General Zod is the son of Seg and Lyta. Yikes. That would make Jor-El his half-brother.
Is Jor-El going to be the son of Seg and Nyssa?
Lyta chose General Zod over her mother? Of course, the woman was placed in an impossible situation. Still, Jayna was wounded, not killed.
Who was that who rescued Jayna?
Kandor effectively has no leadership anymore. The city is slipping into anarchy.
We got mentions of Kryptonopolis and Argo City. Argo City is where Kara Zor-El AKA Supergirl will be born. However, I don't know if she exists in this continuity.
They finally get an army together to take on Brainiac. However, Brainiac manipulates their minds, so they all shoot each other.
Seg almost dies as well, but Nyssa rescues him.
Brainiac showed his true form, and he has succeeded in lowering the dome around Kandor. Things look bad for our heroes. Of course, this is supposed to happen, so Superman will exist. So I guess this is a good thing?
Seg and Nyssa both head for the hills as this happens.
Var-El is still alive. What??
Where is Adam? We didn't see him this episode.

The season finale just aired. However, Krypton has been picked up for another season (it's currently the highest rated show on Sci-Fi). Yay!
As the episode began, Brainiac began his assault on Kandor, getting ready to bottle the city up and cart it off. Seg and Co. debate on what to do.
The truth about Val-El is revealed. He didn't die, 14 years previously, when he was sentenced to death. Instead he manged to transport himself into the Phantom Zone. Zod releases him. However, Val tells the group that there is no way to stop Brainiac. Any time line in which he is stopped only makes things worse.
It is revealed that Adam Strange is in one of Brainiac's bottled cities, which seems to be a city from Earth.
Nyssa and Lyta head to the city to take action.
Nyssa goes and retrieves her child from the matrix, and learns the truth about herself, thanks to Jax-Ur. She is a clone of the original Nyssa, who was killed in a skimmer crash.
Meanwhile, Lyta organizes a defense against Brainiac. However, the evil android easily destroys all the skimmers sent to fight him.
Seg arrives to help try to evacuate Kandor before it's too late, and meets up with Lyta.
Meanwhile, Zod goes to Brainiac with a proposal. He will hand over Val-El, with all the knowledge Val acquired in the Phantom Zone, if Brainiac will leave Krypton alone. Brainiac accepts.
Zod and Brainiac go to the Fortress Of Solitude to get Val. However, Seg has set a trap. He manages to send Brainiac into the Phantom Zone, which saves Kandor. However, before he is fully sucked in, Brainiac pulls Seg as well. Zod then destroys the controls, so Brainiac can never be freed.
Superman's cape is restored. However, the family sign on it then changes from the House Of El to the House Of Zod, indicated that the future has been changed.
Indeed, a month later, Zod is shown cementing his hold on Krypton (with Lyta at his side). He vows that all will "Kneel before Zod!" A new timeline has been created, in which Zod will take over Krypton, and then turn outward to conquer other planets.
In the bottled Earth city, Adam sees a statue of Zod, indicating that one of the planets that he will conquer is Earth!
Meanwhile, Val is working to restore the Phantom Zone projector, when Jax-Ur and Nyssa arrive.
The episode ends with Doomsday breaking out of his container. As if Krypton doesn't have enough problems!
And that's it until 2019.

Thankfully that I work for Sky, I can also watch this series now. Will give it a shot since Superman was my first superhero, along with Spiderman. Never mind. Try to watch to it and comment then - later.
