I agree. The Vera's need to have friends outside the circle.
Exactly. It is so good to see. Yup. Because we all know Kernus wanted it all about their love lives. This is a welcome change.

After the Halliwell's "died", one has to wonder just who all those people were that came to their funeral. They had no friends!
Thankfully, the Vera's seem to actually have friends we, the audience, actually know exist.

Exactly. This is such a great thing the reboot is doing. I won't be surprised if they made Lucy a regular in S2, it might even a huge step in the right direction. Having a regular who isn't a love interest and one that is female. Charmed had Billie, but in the last season.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing Lucy added. And now that Niko is back, keep her.
Just lose Parker.

Exactly!! Let Parker be a one-season main character and written off, the way I wished Cole was on Classic Charmed.
Lucy adds a little humor and is funny, and just what we need.
Lucy, Galvin and Niko each can be the non-magical characters in the series that we need.
I liked the original series when the only magical main characters were the sisters, and the rest were not like Charmed S1. Because they have no powers, it means they can't take over the show.

I fully agree with all of this. The sisters need to have non-magical friends and allies. I don't want a repeat of the old show's mistake of never letting the Halliwells have non-magical friends and giving them super-powered, borderline-immortal boyfriends who eventually take over the show. Classic Charmed became a bore when it stopped being about the sisters and became about Cole (late S3-early S5) and Leo (late S5-S7).

They should be watching the original series and be taking notes on all the mistakes that were made. Best way to avoid repeating the past.
Niko and Galvin come to mind here, and Lucy too. Perhaps Niko and Lucy could be brought in on the secret.

I hated when the show let Cole and Leo take over. If Leo never continued past S2, I think the show would be miles better. Andy and Darryl wouldn't have ever taken over the show, but just support the stars.
I think I would of prefered Leo never making it past S1, and Andy staying. Think how Leo never staying would change the show for the better.
I still think the reboot making Harry (not a love interest) the whitelighter and the Elders witches fixed many things the original did wrong. It keeps the focus on witches, and not let them be ruled by white men in the heavens.

I know a lot of members at the Cafe who agree Leo should've left at the end of Love Hurts and not returned as the sisters Whitelighter due to consequences that would happen because of that so Prue, Piper, and Phoebe were assigned another meaning Andy stayed on and Piper had Dan who allowed her a chance of a normal life then which the reboot doesn't need to do obviously.

Well, at least Harry won't suffer that fate. He is a friend and mentor to the Vera sisters, and that is how it will stay.

When you have a show where the men in their lives become important and the sisterly relationship isn't that takes the whole point of the series that was set up as three sisters who happen to be witches. I also rather the sisters being the only ones with powers. Galvin and Niko work well because they have no powers as the support. Give them non magical friends who can ground the series not make it all about powers and love interests.

We need more non-magicals in the show for perspective, because seeing how they handle magic and demons, without powers themselves is more interesting than seeing more powered people other than the sisters and their whitelighter. It just takes the magic and mystery out of the show, at least the Elders being witches, keeps it more female-centric, unlike Classic Charmed, where they were all in the heavens and white men.

And, when the ever shrinking budget could no longer afford that, they were on that damned bridge. Could that have looked any faker??

Yeah the fake bridge was bad. I hated it.
Least this show won't resort to that. No nees to talk up high. Elders are witches here not from the heavens.

Looks like their willing to learn from the mistakes of the original show.
