Boy, talk about shooting the messenger. I can understand Mel and Maggie being upset at what Macy told them, but did they really need to dump on her that way?
Our villian was interesting. He created the Sirens of Greek myth, but is mad that he got no credit for it!
Galvin once again plays an essential role, rather than just being eye candy.
No Parker in this episode. Yay!
And, once again, the Vera sisters save every single Innocent. I wonder if this is a Take That to the original series, in which later season Innocents were red shirted Ensign Deadmeat characters.
The Mel/Jada storyline continues. And Niko enters the picture and meets Mel. Of course, Niko has no memories of who Mel is. So, it was awkward. Nice that Mel told Jada that Niko was her ex and such. And Mel also told Jada that the Elders sent her to infiltrate the Sarcana, to which Jada says she already knows about that.
No, Harry, don't go. I know you want to find your son, but you're family to the sisters. Heck, they'd probably help you.
And the revelation at the end. Macy finds these love letters between her father and Marisol, and all through the episodes, finds out that they loved each other. Then, at the end, she finds a letter in which they revealed that Macy had died at one point, and Marisol and the father had brought her back from the dead! WTF!!
Well, this might clear up the inconstancy some raised about Marisol being pregnant with Macy a few years earlier than she should be. We don't know how long Macy was dead before she was brought back. And Macy herself has no memories of this.
And now we have a two week hiatus before the next episode. We just got back from Christmas break, CW! WTF are you morons played at!!

I didn't mind the episode though thought Mel and Maggie were a little harsh towards Macy at the start when they could've been slightly more understandable.
The spell Macy cast first was obviously like the truth one Prue originally done.
Was glad Parker wasn't in the episode either.
And we got another Charmed rehashed storyline although differently done.
Would like something not seen yet which'd appeal to me but there you go I suppose.
So the Sacarna could be a colt? I wonder what their beliefs are and whether they're dangerous?
I hope Harry doesn't go because I like him as a character though do understand why he'd want to stop being the sisters whitelighter if he's concentrating on finding his son and not focusing on them and something bad happened.
Imagine if Harry's son was Mel and Maggie's father which would explain Harry and Macy's interaction.
I'm glad the sisters made up before learning more about Macy herself.
Perhaps her baby self was stillborn for e.g. and Marisol distort either struck a deal or resurrected her herself using black magic explaining the darkness in Macy and she was given up to protect her from anything bad happening if she remained or because what happened came with a price or whatever.

If they are, they haven't shown it. I mean they saved a woman from probably being date raped this time.
As I said, this might clear up the discrepancy in Macy's age. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

This was a weird episode. Good to finally start getting some backstory on the sisters' family history instead of more shenanigans with Neo-Cole and Neo-Rex. I wonder what the deal is with Macy's past death/resurrection? (Also, headcanon time -- Macy is autistic. The way she completely flubbed-up the DNA reveal to her sisters and had trouble articulating it to them without completely pissing them off was a classic autistic move. In general, she seems to be very socially-awkward and has trouble dealing with other people and understanding other people's emotions, and it's always refreshing to see female characters portrayed like that on TV.) I love the interesting take this show did with the Siren myth. They could've easily gone the cliched route and had a sexy dominatrix preying on men (like the original Charmed did), but instead, the villain was a well-dressed man who wanted to kill an entire audience of people. As Tim said, it was great that the sisters (and Galvin) managed to save every innocent, including even Effie and the possessed director (who the Halliwells would've likely killed). I wonder how Niko is going to slide back into Mel's life? No love triangles, please. It'll be sad to see Harry go away, but maybe the sisters need to spend a little time on their own without his help. Another thing I liked about this episode is that it had the sisters figuring more things out on their own instead of constantly relying on Harry for help.

Yesterday, I said:
Just found out that next Sunday is the Super Bowl, so I can understand not wanting to go up against that. Don't know the excuse for the Sunday after that, yet.
These two should stay gone for a good while. We already have a good storyline or two (Macy's background, Sarcana, Harry looking for his son) going without them clogging up the works.
How much you wanna bet that the Halliwells would also have dropped the ball on Effie too. Later seasons Innocents had a bullseye target painted on them under the bumbling Halliwells.

At the cafe, a couple of reviews I read said they didn't like Galvin help get the audience members back because that should've been left up to the sisters.
They also think he never should have been clued in or they're secret either meaning the Charmed Ones only vanquish evil, not mortals too.
And finally, the girls should rely less on Harry and sought problems out themselves otherwise things will be too easy all the time which people don't want happening.

Ah yes, the Charmed Cafe. Two and a half years later, and I'm still banned from visiting the place.
Truth be told, I'm warming up more Galvin since he was let in on the secret. He's actually become a using character and not just the load.

When I watched Galvin play the flute I did picture Darryl or Andy from original Charmed and wondered what it would've been like had either of them helped Prue, Piper, Phoebe or Paige with demon vanquishes. Not all the time but occasionally mind.
I'm not really up on him and Macy together. Prefer them as friends at the moment because this year should be about the sisters and getting to learn, know and accept Macy but this episode was probably the best I liked of Galvin as a character then.
I suppose I'm slightly glad he knows the girls secret so least he's in the picture from the start and not lied to same as Andy was.
If people don't want Galvin at vanquishes then perhaps he could help in other ways if Harry wasn't around for example like checking the book for information and texting the girls that or spells etc. Researching at the library or the internet. And talking to victims who've been attacked to gain info also.

And the Vera sisters treat Galvin like a human being, not a flunky. I can't see them stealing his soul, like the Halliwells did to Daryl that one time.

Okay, Galvin is fine as an ally friend in the Darryl role. But as for being romantically involved with Macy, sorry, I still do not see it.
I like Lucy now and hope she sticks around. Let our sisters have friends. Unlike the original series. I'd even be fine if she was made a regular, so they can have a female/ally/friend in the cast, who isn't a love interest and female.
Yeah, I get why some might be upset if Galvin is too involved. I do think they should let that be every so often.
I also hope they do some episodes where all three are together, and not separate the sisters so often into their own storylines.

Still banned, that's harsh. I looked at that site, and apparently, a former admin/staff named Simplypoo is back, and I liked her reviews on the reboot. She is a fan of it, and really is enjoying it. I also see that she and some other members are posting about the reboot now. Looks like people are coming around.

I agree. The Vera's need to have friends outside the circle.

That makes logical sense. I mean why write out the same post twice, when one can just Copy And Paste it.
