ACT 4 - HALLIWELL MANOR - KITCHEN - MID-AFTERNOON
Coop is in the kitchen already preparing dinner for his family. Phoebe enters carrying the camera that once belonged to her eldest sister, Prudence Halliwell. There is a red ribbon wrapped and tied around it.
“Something smells delicious!” Phoebe says, licking her lips.
“Rotisserie chicken, taco salad, mashed potatoes and Grams’ famous blueberry cobbler.” Coop says, looking up at his wife and smiling.
“You know the secret ingredients to it?” Phoebe asks.
“Well, I called Piper and she told me.” Coop says.
At the same time, they both say, “Honey and a splash of rum.”
They both laugh. Phoebe sighs. “What did I do to deserve you?”
“Eight years of demon fighting and you still ask that.” Coop says.
“Now Pip has taken the mantle until the all the kids are ready.” Phoebe says, frowning. “At least he’s got Bev and Eddie, their group of friends and Andy.”
“And most importantly..his family.” Coop says.
“Yeah, his family.” Phoebe smiles. “Pip and the girls are gonna love this dinner.”
The door opens and closes. “Speaking of them.” Coop says.
“And it’s unusually early.” Phoebe says, seriously. She leaves the kitchen, placing the camera beside the phone on her way out. Her sisters and Coop, already knew about the surprise for Pip.
Pip and Bev enter the Manor in a hurry. “Andy!” Pip shouts.
Phoebe enters the foyer to find Pip and Bev calling for their Whitelighter.
“Pip, you’re home extremely early.” Phoebe says. “I take it that there’s a demon?”
“Yep and you’ll never believe the premonition that Pip had.” Bev says.
“Try me.” Phoebe says.
“I’ll show you.” Pip says. “Andy’s been teaching me how to share my premonition with others without the need for them to have the power.”
Phoebe nods. “Would’ve been useful for me, several years ago.”
Pip and Bev raise an eyebrow.
“Long story.” Phoebe says. “Cliffnotes version, however, Piper and I were going to swap powers so I could show her a future where the Avatars brought on Utopia. A future where demons were no more, where evil no longer existed.”
“Avatars?” Bev asks.
“Magical beings outside of time and space. Powerful and wanted Utopia so demons couldn’t exist.” Phoebe explains. “However, a price had to be paid…anyone who caused conflict would be killed and removed from Utopia.”
Pip frowns. “Sounds vaguely familiar.”
“What?” Bev and Phoebe ask.
“I remember a time in my life where I didn’t have to be afraid anymore, where my fears were nothing but an ant compared to everything else.” Pip explains. “I used that memory when I became student president at Hamilton.”
“You remember Utopia?” Phoebe asks, incredulous.
“I said barely, just a feeling of a time that I didn’t have to fear anything anymore.” Pip says.
“That’s weird but also interesting. I’m gonna ask Leo later just because I’m curious now.” Phoebe says. “About this premonition of yours?”
“Right.” Pip says and takes his mother’s hands in his own. He closes his eyes and sends the vision to her. It takes a hot minute but Phoebe finally receives the same vision that Pip did. However, it’s just a normal premonition to her.
We do not see the recollection as we already saw it before.
Pip and Phoebe open their eyes. “You met Steven Tyler?!”
“Lucky.” Bev murmurs. Pip looks at her and she smiles.
“Yes, Mom, I did.” He says turning back to face his mother.
“I used to listen to Aerosmith a lot during my teen years. I also listened to bands like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd..you name it.” Phoebe says. “I was rebellious during my teen years, something I will not tell you about…until you’re my age.”
“You must’ve gave Grandma Patty and Grandpa Victor a hard time.” Pip says.
Phoebe frowns. “No..I gave Grams a hard time.”
“Grams?” Pip asks.
“Your grandma was killed by the Water Demon when I was just a toddler, and your grandpa wasn’t around because he and Grams could never get along.” Phoebe explains. “Grams wanted to raise Prue, Piper and I as witches but Dad wanted us raised as mortal girls; they couldn't agree so he left. When Mom died, he never made an appearance until we became witches.”
“I’m sorry to hear that Mom.” Pip says.
“It’s okay sweetie.” Phoebe says. “So the demon is Laarius, well let’s check the Book and see if we can get some info on him.”
“And the Clefs.” Bev says.
“Right, we’ll see if there’s an entry on them too.”
“Or the amulet they own at least.” Pip adds.
“Right.” Phoebe says and the three witches make their way to the Attic.
BAKER HIGH SCHOOL - MISS HICKOCK’S CLASSROOM - MID-AFTERNOON | LAST PERIOD OF THE DAY
Eddie sits at his desk and looks to his left and is surprised to that Pip and Bev are not at their desks.
He looks over to his right at Ben. “Have you seen Pip and Bev?”
“No, not since lunch today.” Ben says.
Miss Hickock slams a ruler on her desk. “Mr. Hartman, Mr. Kresington, is your conversation so important that you must find it necessary to talk during my lesson on the life lessons in
To Kill A Mockingbird?”
“No ma—“ Eddie tries to say but is interrupted.
“Why don’t we just stop class altogether so you can finish your conversation.” Miss Hickock says.
“We’ll stop talking, Miss Hickock.” Ben says.
“You better or else next time…you’ll find yourself in detention.” Miss Hickock warns.
Some of the kids in the class chuckle. Miss Hickock frowns. “All of you quiet and pay attention, some of you can learn from this.”
The bell rings signaling the end of the day. “We’ll pick back up on this tomorrow.” Miss Hickock says.
Eddie quickly gathers his things and leaves the classroom. He had to find Pip and Bev, they could be in trouble for all he knew.
Bev never missed class unless it was inevitable. Pip wouldn’t either, especially since he’s running for student president and it would hurt his campaign and attendance. What if they were hurt? What if a demon captured them? Or worse..killed them?
Eddies rushes through the mass of students, all trying to get out the doors and get home. He removes his bike from the bike rack. He places his backpack in the crate that he constructed onto the back. He hops on and pedals off, en-route to the Manor.
HALLIWELL MANOR - THE ATTIC - LATE AFTERNOON
Pip and Bev thumb through the Book, while Phoebe watches. She knew she shouldn’t do the research anymore. It was Pip’s, Bev’s and Eddie’s times to do the researching and demon-fighting. She couldn’t be anymore proud than she already was of her son and her son’s friends.
Pip closes the Book, both he and Bev were a bit irritated that the Book didn’t have any information to offer this time. Phoebe remembers the many times when she and her sisters would slam the Book shut out of aggravation of its helpless times.
“How are supposed to fight this demon without any information?” Bev asks.
“Well we do have the information that Mr. Tyler gave me.” Pip says.
“Which is probably why the Book doesn’t have any info on the demon.” Phoebe says. “None of the witches before us has encountered…what’s his name again?” She looks to Pip.
“Laarius.” Pip says.
“Right.” Phoebe says. “This demon was specifically after the Clefs, he had no concern for our family line.”
“So how do vanquish him then?” Bev asks.
“We go to the last Clef.” Pip says. “Fortunately he’s performing at P3 tonight.”
“ANDY!” Bev hollers. “What is taking him so long?”
Blue and white lights appear in the attic and take the form of a man. It’s Andy. “I’m so sorry, a meeting went on longer than usual. It was about some new rules that have been made.”
“Rules?” Pip asks.
“For Whitelighters, mainly pertaining to the newer ones but all Whitelighters had to be there.” Andy explains.
“Okay, well we need to get to P3.” Bev says.
“What’s going on?” Andy says.
“A demon.” Pip says. “A powerful one.”
Eddie enters the attic in a rush. “Thank goodness, I got worried when you didn’t show up for English.”
“Perfect timing, Eddie. We have a demon to vanquish.” Bev says.
“Laarius, he’s after the last Clef.” Pip says. “We need to get to P3.” He grabs one of Andy’s hands. Bev does the same and Eddie grabs one of Bev’s hands.
“Be careful. I’ll be here waiting for your safe return.” Phoebe says.
Pip nods to his mother and the quartet orb out.
P3 - BACK AREA (LOUNGE AREA FOR PERFORMERS) - EARLY EVENING
Blue and white lights fill a space and form the shapes of four people. It’s Pip, Bev, Eddie and Andy. “We need to find the Clef.” Bev says.
“Not gonna be hard.” Pip says. “It’s George Ezra.”
“What?” Bev asks.
Pip points to a poster that has a picture of George Ezra on it.
“Oh.” Bev says. “Let’s find him.”
Eddie looks ahead and sees the blonde-haired singer. “There.” He says, loudly.
George is walking to the backroom and looks up at the quartet. He slowly back up in fear of getting trampled by the four people, who he thinks are crazed fans.
Pip approaches him. “Mr. Ezra, Larrius is after you but we can protect you.”
George inhales. “What are you talking about?” He was going to try and keep his secret.
Bev approaches with Eddie. “Don’t deny the Clef secret from us. We’re witches and we’re gonna protect you.” She says.
“How do you know of the Clefs?” George asks.
“I had a vision where I met Steven Tyler and he told me that the Blessed Ones had to save you.” Pip explains.
“From me?” A voice says. Pip, Bev, Eddie and Andy all turn around to see Laarius standing near a corner. “The Blessed Ones, nice to make an acquaintance.”
“We need to play and sing the tune on his cape to vanquish him.” George says.
“No problem.” Eddie says. He closes his eyes and Laarius’ cape flies off his cloak and into Eddie’s waiting hand.
“NO!” Laarius shouts. “I will not be defeated.” He raises his hands and sends a yellow beam of energy to absorb the life forces of the Blessed Ones and George.
Andy orbs in beside his charges, and grabs onto Pip and Eddie. Bev grabs onto George and then Eddie. Andy orbs them all out of P3.
HALLIWELL MANOR - LIVING ROOM - SAME TIME AS LAST SCENE
Blue and white lights form the shape of five people. When the orbs settle, Pip runs to the piano and sits down.
Eddie closes his eyes and uses his power to hold the cape up so Pip can play the notes.
“We need six people to equal the six Clefs.” George says.
Pip considers the problem..there was only
four stand-ins. “Mom! Coop!”
Phoebe and Coop both come rushing into the living room. “Did you vanquish Laarius?” Phoebe asks.
“No, but we need you to stand in for two Clefs.” Pip says. “Everybody when I play the notes, starting with George and to the right, you’ll each sing the note played.”
“But I’m not a good singer.” Phoebe says.
“Nobody’s gonna judge you, Mom.” Pip says.
Laarius funnels into the conservatory and takes a few steps into the living room.
“No one will stop me, I will end the Clefs and the Blessed Ones.” Laarius says.
“Laarius, shut up! I’m the piano man and I say that we are going to end
you.” Pip says and plays the first note.
George sings the note and green energy dances around Laarius’ feet and ankles.
“No, you stupid b—“ Laarius gets out.
“Language!” Pip says and plays the second note.
Bev sings the note and blue energy flurries around Larrius’ knees.
Laarius sneers and Pip plays the third note, Andy sings it and purple energy encircles Laarius’ waist.
“I hate witches!” Laarius says. Pip plays the fourth note and Eddie sings it. Orange energy wraps itself around Laarius’ abdomen.
Pip plays the fifth note, Phoebe sings. Pip plays the sixth note, Coop sings. Pink energy spins in a circle around Laarius’ shoulders and neck. Red energy floats around Laarius’ head.
Pip plays the notes together and the six stand-ins sing the notes at one time.
This deals the blow and Laarius explodes into nothing. Laarius’ cape ignites in colorful flames and burns up into nothing but ash.
“We did it.” George says. “Laarius is gone for good.” He grins.
“It’s what we do.” Pip says. They all chuckle.
Eddie raises an eyebrow. “So you and Kelly were two of the Clefs..who were the other four?” He asks.
“One was Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.” George says and Eddie gasps.
“Who I met in a vision that Mr. Tyler orchestrated.” Pip says.
“The other three were Michael, Whitney and Amy.” George says.
“Amy?” Bev inquires.
“Winehouse.” George replies.
Bev frown in anger. “Freaking Laarius, how dare he?” She throws her hands up in displeasure.
Pip and Eddie nod with her.
“Anyway, let’s get you back to the P3 so you can perform.” Pip says. “Don’t want Aunt Piper to go into a frenzy because her patrons riot of no performance.”
Phoebe nods. “And she definitely will.” She says, agreeing with Pip. “She did when Pat Benatar cancelled but a Leprechaun’s gold got her back to the stage.” Phoebe looks at the complexed faces. “Later, it’s a semi-long story and it would cut into his performance time.” She says, motioning to George.
The Blessed Ones, mainly Pip, nod. “I wish I could’ve been here to see the eight years of adventures you and the aunts had.” He says, frowning.
“Oh sweetie, I know.” Phoebe says and she embraces Pip. “But now that I think about it, I wouldn’t go back in time and change that decision.”
“Why?” Pip asks.
“Because it gave you a normal childhood, you didn’t have to worry about demon like your cousin Wyatt did at infancy.” Phoebe says. “Believe me when I say that it you’d be glad that you weren’t here…we had it rough.”
Pip looks into his mother’s eyes and can see the sorrow that was locked back, and he nods.
“Okay, let’s get back to P3.” Pip says. The Blessed Ones and George huddle around Andy who orbs them back to the nightclub. Phoebe and Coop watch the orbs leave.
Phoebe wipes some tears away and Coop notices. “What’s wrong, honey? Why are you crying?”
Phoebe exhales. “He’s grown up so fast and then jumped into magic just like Paige had to.”
Coop embraces his wife and looks down into her eyes and smiles. “He’s got his friends with him for support. He’s got Andy for guidance and he’s got his family for comfort.” He caresses his wife’s left cheek in his left hand. “He’s not alone like you, Piper and Prue were when you first became witches.”
Phoebe nods. “I know…I just regret not being there when he was a child.” She frowns. “I know Clay raised him well, I can see it…feel it at that. I just wish that I had, had a hand in it. I missed so much of his life.”
“Well now is the time to make for that lost time, why don’t you take a day or two off from work and spend it with him?” Coop suggests. “I can feel the love you both have for each other…and it’s just floating around..you both need to tether it together and connect; like a mother and son should be.”
Phoebe sobs from his words and nods. She knew he was right and knew she needed to connect with Pip, it was now or never. Who knows what repercussions that would have if they didn’t form a bond between them?
Phoebe lays her head on Coop’s chest and weeps.
P3 - BACK AREA - MID-EVENING
The Blessed Ones, Andy and George all orb in to and can hear the crowd shouting George’s name.
“Mr. Ezra—“ Pip get outs.
George chuckles. “Call me, George..please.”
Pip smiles and nods. “George..in my vision with Mr. Tyler..he told me that you must rebuild the Clefs.”
George looks down. “Did Laarius kill his host?”
Pip raises an eyebrow. “Host? What are you talking about?”
“Well Clefs are selected either by the other active Clefs based on their future. The previous Clefs before me were all legendary and influential.” George explains.
“You are selected if you’re destined for greatness and success..makes sense the other Clefs were legendary and influential.” Eddie says.
“And were destined for greatness and success.” Bev adds in.
“Clefs are made up of energy and in the beginning the first Clefs had to find each other, and then united a force of power for good. Most times each Clef selects a new host for their energy to inhabit and sometimes..the other Clefs have to find a host if one Clef dies unexpectedly.” George continues.
The Blessed Ones and Andy nod.
“The host’s spirit moves on to the afterlife while the energy moves to the next Clef.” George says.
“Which means you’ll have to choose new hosts for the previous Clefs.” Pip says.
“Correct. When Laarius got Michael, Whitney and Amy, he took out half of the power we had. Steven went into hiding and Kelly quit the force, hoping that it would make Laarius leave her alone. I had just been activated before Michael was taken. Patrick was my former.”
“Patrick?” Eddie asks.
“Swayze.” George answers.
“Damn, Laarius!” Pip says in aggravation of Laarius’ actions.
“So, no new Clefs had been decided for the currents.” George finishes explaining.
“Well, you won’t have any trouble now that Laarius is gone.” Bev says, smiling.
George grins. “Thank you so much for helping.”
“We have Steven Tyler to thank without his contact to Pip, we would’ve had no idea of the situation.” Andy says.
George nods. “I better get out there.”
“Good luck!” Pip says.
“Thanks again, you saved the force of the Clefs. We are forever in your debt…if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact us.” George says.
“Us?” Pip asks.
“I already have in mind who’s next in line.” George says.
Pip nods and George runs out onto the stage. The crowd goes wild and cheers at him.
“I’m gonna go let the Elders know of the win.” Andy says.
The Blessed Ones nod at their Whitelighter and Andy orbs out.
P3 - TEEN SECTION
Pip, Bev and Eddie make their way to the teen section. Bev sees Vic sitting at a table by himself. “Pip, look.” Pip looks where Bev points and sees his former date sitting alone. “Go, you deserve it.”
Eddie turns to Pip. “Pip, I had a realization earlier on my way to class. I’d rather you be happy than lose you as a friend.”
Pip smiles. “Thanks Eddie.”
Eddie nods. “I may not like it but I won’t stand in your way, so go and claim your man.” He smiles.
Pip nods and hugs both of his friends. He hurries over to the table where Vic is sitting.
“Hey tall, blonde and handsome.” Pip says. “Would you like to dance?”
Vic looks up at Pip. “Pip..I don’t know..what about your friends?”
“Eddie gave me his blessing and to be honest..I could care less about what my friends think about who I date. If they don’t trust in my decisions..that’s on them.” Pip says.
Vic smiles and stands up. Pip offers him a hand and he takes it. They walk to the dance floor and take in the moment.
George is on stage and singing his song "
Over The Creek".
Vic and Pip smile to each other and begin dancing together.
Bev and Eddie sit with Bill and Ben, they smile for their friend.
Vic and Pip continue dancing together.
The camera on Vic and Pip, fades to black as it zooms out and up to the ceiling of the club.
