The Macy/Galvin story. Seriously. I love you? What where did that come from? How did they get to love already? Seriously, hated this story. But this is the CW, nobody can stay a virgin for so long, and that was such a good thing they did for a character when all the CW shows have kids having sex as teens. LOVED How much the sisters were together. Finally, I was complaining they get little scenes. And the past episodes had too many episodes where they split them all up with plots. This felt very much like a Classic Charmed episode. I liked it, apart from the ending with Macy/Galvin.

I'm unsure how I feel about the episode. I think the very obvious not-so-subtle metaphor for female oppression under patriarchal rule specifically white men was a little too on the nose. It kind of bought me out of the episode. But I hope some people got something out of it.
The hijinks with the pixie were pretty fun, I especailly liked seeing Harry under the thrall of the dust, that was funny.
However this episode did something I wasn't too keen on and that was a big emphasis on the relationships the sisters have seeming to take precendence over the stories. I will say Parker was more likeable this time, maybe the cute puppy helped. I think the issue I have is Galvin, he isn't a bad guy, but with the introduction of his grandma and him needing to do some kind of trial? I feel they are shoe-horning him in to give him something to do. When it would have been so simple for Macy to just go find the guy and get the spell she needed herself.
I did enjoy seeing more sister moments, like when they were setting up the trap and each splitting up to tackle each problem at the end, a good division of strengths there.
But what on earth was that ending? Two masked randoms get out a van and shoot Jada and Mel doesn't think to freeze them as soon as she sees them? Bizarre.
I will say it was cool to see another facet of Maggie's powers this episode, she can break the effects of mind control or maybe more specifically pixie dust? If its just the dust then presumably she can use it to break other kinds of control.

They should have dropped that whole "white male" thing. I know that this version of Charmed is more progressive that than originals series, but they went a little too far the other way this time, IMO.
This was almost a stand alone episode, aside from the ongoing demon blood issue that is.
Loved the whole toothbrush thing with Mel and Jada. And the issue of Jada's parents, whom she had issues with. She now wants Mel to meet them. The old "meet the parents" thing. Yikes!
I too loved Harry under Chloe's influence (London Bridge Is Falling Down). Cracked me up.
So, in this Charmed, magical beings live in the human world and even have jobs to make ends meet (Chloe mentions working in a cupcake shop). I like this angle.
At first it seemed that Chloe was the villain, but it turned out that the villain was human, Zach.
Once again, every Innocent was saved. The only person who died did so before the sisters became involved. The guy that got hit by the car is, according to Harry, expected to pull through.
Poor Chloe was devastated when the sisters gave her heart back to her. Of course, the sisters told her it wasn't her fault and advised for the pixies to keep from being exploited like this again.
I wondered what they would do with Zach. I mean they couldn't turn him over to the police, as, technically, he didn't kill anyone, and they most certainly couldn't tell the cops that a pixie did it! Mel's solution, casting that spell that causes Zach to turn himself into the cops and confess to the murder was the only real solution. Zach may not have actually done the deed, but he made it happen, and that is just as indictable.
Chloe and Zach are lucky it was the Vera sisters they were facing. The later seasons Halliwell's (who had set themselves up as judge, jury, and executioner) would have certainly showed no mercy to either of them.
Oh joy, Maggie and Parker are together again. Well, at least Maggie is upfront with her sisters about this.
And that ending. Looks like Jada was set up, but by whom?

And we had the necromancer who worked....somewhere, I don't remember but she had a normal job.
I did see one thing in this episode that worried me slightly, the way Mel dealt with Zach, now don't get me wrong, he was clearly a scumbag who deserved what was coming to him....but she used her magic to punish the guilty. It seems small now....but so was using telekinesis to flick a bit of dog poop onto Nataniel Pratt's shoe.

I don't think Jada is going to stick around. I have a feeling she might be a bad influence on Mel. After all she has and her friends have Charity's sister and what are they doing with her.

Yeah, that was a problem. Zach was a criminal, and was responsible for one murder and one attempted murder. However, as I said, the sisters couldn't turn him over to the cops, there was no evidence to directly connect him to the crimes, and they certainly couldn't mention the pixie. He would have walked.
On the other hand, they couldn't allow Zach to get off scott free, after what he'd done.
Mel's solution was the best one they could come up with. I mean, the Halliwell sisters probably would have summarily executed him, like they did Phoebe's old high school friend, Rick.
