Quite a big reveal here. In this incarnation of Charmed, the Sources is not someone, it's something. It's the Source of all magic, and is not good or evil in of itself, rather it depends on who has control of it.
Fiona is after it because she has literally gone mad. She wants to destroy all magic on both sides, because she feels, and one can agree with her on that point, that she has been used again and again. She wiped out the Sarcana (except Jada) and perhaps the Elders are also on her list (and I wouldn't shed a tear if Fiona finished them off too, before the Vera sisters dispatch her back to Tartarus).
Ah, Tessa, we hardly knew you. But, at got Harry back. Harry is now independent from the Elders (after what they did to him). Of course, we knew he wouldn't leave the Vera's.
Neo-Rex sends Charity to Tartarus to spring his other son, Hunter, the shape shifter. Hunter then kills Parker's human mother, takes her form, and injects the unsuspecting Parker with demon blood. Hunter makes it look like Parker did it, and Parker believes it. Hunter then takes on Maggie's shape, and "breaks up" with him, further isolating him. Having no where else to go, Parker goes back to Neo-Rex and agrees to become the Source's vessel, as Neo-Rex had planned.
Distracted by Fiona, the Vera sisters don't find this out until it's too late.
Meanwhile, looks like Niko is determined to stay. Loved the scene where, after giving her the protection ring, Mel freezes the bar that they're in. Niko then tells Mel that, two years before, she had a nervous breakdown. Mel realizes that this happened because of her changing time, and so the consequences of that ill-thought decision are still present.
Galvin is leaving to take a job with Doctors Without Borders. Fine, Galvin, just leave already, will you.

So the Source in this Charmed could be their version of the Hollow perhaps?

From what the episode said, the Source is where all magic comes from. It in of itself is neutral, but it can be controlled by someone from either camp.
Better than the whiny half-faced loser from the original series.

I liked this episode. It was fun!
Galvin continues to add nothing, and hope he does leave forever.
I'm sure Niko is going to learn Mel put that spell on her, that will most likely be part of the end of season drama or something they'll start now to play into S2.
Figures Parker's mother dies, and that he goes to the dark side, and I'm curious about the Source mythology, I gotta say it is better than Classic Charmed. Because at least, the Source needs a vessel to enter the world, and not show up as that stupid half-faced demon.
So Harry is now no longer working for the Elders and is a free agent. Can you blame him, they are worse than Classic Charmed sentencing him to death, and grow old and die, Leo only was made mortal but didn't age to what he should be. At least he is okay now.
Harry is proving to be treated so much better than how the sisters treated Leo. I really do see a brotherly/sisterly relationship here. The best part is he isn't with one of the sisters. So him being their mentor is fine with me, even if I still have issues with how whitelighters work.
I think they are going to kill someone off by the end of the season. Someone will become the Andy of S1. I think one of the sisters will lose someone close to them entering S2.

I agree. Harry had nothing to do with what Charity did. He has every right to tell the Elders what they can go do with themselves.
Yep, the Vera sister see Harry as a trusted friend and mentor, and stood by him when he needed them.

I'm so proud of them for doing this, and see him as a close friend and or brother/father figure. I can see with the fans, Harry is in number 1 spot for most popular supporting cast member. I think Niko is neutral, because they need to give her more story, which might happen in S2. It is just Galvin and Parker we need to see gone. I hate that Galvin is the guy Macy lost her virginity with, that story really made me upset. Because, I was hoping she'd be a virgin for much longer, and because they had zero chemistry. Oh well, this is the CW where nobody is a virgin for long. Her being in her late 20s, was a shock in itself for a CW show.

I agree. Unlike the Halliwell sisters, who constantly walked all over Leo.
I agree. Keep Harry and Niko, but lose Parker and Galvin.

Yeah Harry's my number 1 supporting character in this show then Niko/Jada and Galvin/Parker last though the fact Parker absorbed the Source's powers makes me wonder if the sisters will either kill him in the finale if that's what the CW's plan is or contain him like I suggested and we get a new villain next year then each year afterward like the DC shows do and not someone who remains constant?

I would rather he sacrificed himself, taking Neo-Rex and Hunter with him.

Which would be a redeeming feature if he was written off.

I'm....not happy with the direction the show is going in, there were parts of this episode I liked a lot, really enjoying Niko interacting with Mel, not sure how long that will last because I presume at some point Mel will tell her about the spell.
Galvin is going, thank God, guess they are listening to us.
I like this interpretation of The Source, more of a neutral power than good or evil, my guess is Maggie will use her powers to get through to Parker once he has the power in him and he will take down Alastair, which is my main problem, whoever plays Parker is not a strong enough actor to pull this off, which leads to my next point. We aren't even the whole way through the season yet and we're already getting The Source and the origins of all magic? Anyone else think this is just going way too fast?
Which reminds me. It was said Fiona could be as strong as the entire power of three? What?! How?! Makes no sense. How can one witch be stronger than the collective power of the charmed ones?
I was sad to see Tessa go, she actually was a good whitelighter, I was looking forward to seeing both her and Harry compete to be the girls' whitelighter.
Personally I don't think Parker deserves saving, he left his poor mother bleeding on the floor without even calling an ambulance or anything, then he can't see that Hunter isn't Maggie, then he just gives up and goes back to his evil dad. Where's your will power my dude? You should want to be human for yourself, to become a better person, not give up just because you thought your "girlfriend" dumped you.

Sure the beck beats old whiny half-face!
You're not alone in this, Adam. In fact, this thread addresses that very issue.
Which is odd considering that the Charmed Ones were able to drive her off that very same episode.
Parker is just a weak character over all. The sooner the show gets rid of him, the better, IMO.

That is a good question. And I'm wondering if they'll do a new villain every season, but truth be told the reboot rushes and has so many plots going at once, that, I would not be surprised if the Source is wrapped up at the end of S2. I hope not, they really need to pace themselves. Maybe, he'll be defeated in S2, but reappear towards the end of the series. Personally having the sisters battle the Source in the second season, is crazy and too soon. Because they'll run into the same problems Classic Charmed faced after S4. But then again, as we all say, this reboot might only last longer than 3 or 4 seasons.

You know, if someone tuned in to the season halfway through, they'd be totally lost. That is the mistake of rushing things.
On the other hand, someone coming into Season One of the original series, at that same point, would have a much easier time getting caught up.
