As the old saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
And that was the case with Macy and the powers of the Source that she possessed. Her intentions were, for the most part, good. However the problem was that the arrogance that she got that she could fix everything. She refused to listen to anyone and did what she felt was right, and the consequences be damned.
By doing that, Macy was tampering with Destiny, and there would be prices to pay. She brought Galvin back to life, and thus took away his free will. And the price was that others were dying in his place. Of course, Macy just brushed all that aside, and said that she could fix that too.
Macy made several changes to reality, the biggest in bringing Marisol back. Macy wanted to have the mother she never know. However, Marisol just kept dying, no matter how many times Macy "fixed" things. Destiny was working against her.
Finally, her sisters managed to get through to Macy and found the driving force behind Macy's obsession with "fixing" things, she doesn't want to be alone. She lost the mother she never had the chance to know, and now Galvin was dead. However, Mel, Maggie, and Harry made Macy realize that she wasn't alone, she did have family, all of them. And they made it clear that they would never leave her, no matter what.
In the end (after reality is back to normal), Macy decides to give up the powers of the Source. She knows that means that Galvin is dead again, but she knows that it's the only way. No one being was meant to have such power.
The sisters use a spell to transfer the powers out of Macy and into an amulet that Marisol had given Macy. Said amulet is then divided up into three parts, and hidden in three different parts of the world. As added security, the sisters have Harry wipe their minds of those locations. So now no one will be able to find it.
Parker decides to leave town, until he can sort himself out. And Mel decides to let Niko go one with her life. Since neither of these characters died (unlike Galvin, who is definitely dead), it's possible that one or both could return.
When the sisters and Harry return home from Galvin's funeral they find Chloe and some of the other magical beings that they've met this season waiting for them. Chloe says that, with the Elders gone, the world of magic needs new leaders. And the Vera sisters find themselves "elected" to the job. They just decide to roll with the punches.
In the end, everyone heads into the house. As the episode ends, Macy uses her powers to close the door, a nob to the original series ending its seasons by doing that.
And that's it until next season.
-notice that Mel and Maggie were terrified of this souped up Macy. No doubt they were worried that she could hurt them just be accident.
-nice that the powers didn't make Macy evil. However, they did go to her head. However, her sisters and Harry, in the end, were able to bring her back down to Earth.
-once again the no personal gain thing is taken seriously.
-liked how Galvin realized that something was off.
-once again they brought Marisol back without pulling out the ghost card.
-Galvin is dead, finally. He really was a useless character, wasn't he. Parker is still around though (even though he no longer has a purpose, it seems). Ah well, you can't win them all.
-the ending could have been lifted right out of the original series. No big cliffhanger, just the "close the door" thing. I liked that.
