tvline.com/2019/10/25/charmed-season-2-cast-poppy-drayton-series-regular-video/Well safe to say that Parker and Niko are really not coming back, at least as regulars. Since they have added two new ones to the cast. I think the show is really done with them. I hope the new love interests happens organically, and not forced. What happened to the good old days of a slow burn. So far Maggie/Jordan has that. I sure hope, these new ones are well received. Last season, they promoted Parker's actor right away, without seeing how things play out. I miss the days, a new character starts out as recurring and they slowly build their story up, and if the character is working and the actors have real chemistry, then promote them.

The new show runners knock another great episode out of the ball park.
Loved the bit with Harry and Mel in the astral plane. And Mel figured out the final test.
Once again the issue of using magic for personal gain comes up. Maggie uses a potion to help her get a job, but, as a result, Jordan, the guy she likes, is forced to close his gym, since he didn't get the job, he can no longer keep it open. Maggie used magic for personal gain, and there were consequences as a result.
I like how the sisters actually get broken up when an Innocent dies. It shows that they care. Compare to the Halliwell's "who gives a damn" attitude.
Who is this mysterious Abigael? What's her story? When Macy takes her down, at the end of the episode, she claims that she was poisoned too.
Macy going to San Francisco. Was this a wink to the original series?

I will say I didn't enjoy this episode as much as the first two, but it was still good and I did like it.
I liked that Harry and Mel had their own mission this week, I was worried they'd just shove Harry with Macy for every scene from now on, but I'm glad that's not the case, he may have feelings for Macy but he still takes his job seriously as all three sister's whitelighter.
I'm not so sure what Maggie did counts as personal gain, she needed that job so they could keep using the passes to get into the command center (I still feel weird calling it that lol), because if they can't get in they can't track and rescue the innocent witches, so I feel like she doesn't really deserve any consequences, one guy loses his gym or hundreds of witches lose their lives, its a no-brainer really, and without the elders, who is their to govern personal gain anyway?
I'm not sure I like the idea of this elder book replacing the book of shadows, seems like too much power all at once if you ask me.
They still don't have their powers back which is clearly taking its toll on Macy, I think that's why she was so eager for Abigael to help, since perhaps she thought she could pick up some of the slack whilst Mel and Maggie remain without active powers, though its clear they can still cast spells and use actual magic. I will say I find the idea of their powers being gone a little incomprehensible, the elders magic took them away, the elders who are all dead, and the sisters now have access to all the elders information, spells, research, and they still haven't found a way to get them back?
The marble that they use to get back to the centre is going to get them in trouble at some point, my bet is the assassin will grab one from one of the girls and use it to get into the base.
As for Abigael, she is coincidentally half witch, half demon like Macy, there's no way she's not the overlord is there? Calem said as much as he was dying, "its you".
Though the assassin seems to be after her as well, which I find intriguing, perhaps the assassin then is not affiliated with all the other demons we've seen? He seems to be something separate, with his own agenda, killing witches, it makes sense that he'd be after Abigael since she's half witch. But I'm guessing Abigael only wants him gone so she can go on with her own plans - to be the overlord.

That's why they need to crack the Book Of Elders.
The demons are hardly a united front. As we have seen, there are many rival factions. Perhaps this assassin had his own leader to wants to take over.
Think of these demons as rival Mafia families, each one with a Don who wants to be top dog.

Lots of nods to Classic Charmed. Both sending Macy to San Fransisco, and the title of this episode also comes from Season 2 of Classic Charmed.
Abigael being made a regular right away, interesting, I just hope she won't turn into Cole, Leo and Chris and take attention off the sisters and Charmed Ones. I'd rather she turn out to be bad, than good, because making her good, as I don't want her to become another Billie and someone to solve too many problems. We'll see.
I don't like the book of Elders, still, the worse thing they did was destroy their book of shadows, I just don't like them getting that high level of spells. The book of shadows was good enough. Hopefully, they eventually ditch the command center, when it is no longer needed, I don't like it, it feels too Power Rangers and Superhero base, which just isn't needed.
Them being believed dead to the world is going to bite them eventually. How can Maggie or any of them apply for a job and not have someone know they are alive with background checks. That goes for all of them, they are believed dead, and still using their own names. Not hard to get caught sooner or later. Or is the show planning to have them relocate somewhere else every season? How long until they glamour themselves with fake names.
I am interested to see where the assassin story is going.
I wonder if Abigael is Alastair's daughter? Didn't we already get the news a few months that they were casting her unless they ditched that story? I hope so, then it means Parker stays gone. If she is Parker's sister, then I'm less interested in her story, it just means it all comes back to the Cain's. I hope I'm wrong.

As I said, it reminds me of the Men Of Letters bunker.
Yeah, they're gonna have to address this. I mean faking their deaths. Given their Latino background, they might be mistaken for illegal immigrants and deported!
They seem to have jettisoned everything from the first season, except for the sisters and Harry. Let's hope Abigael has no connection to the despised Cains.

Perhaps the assassin is like Eames from original Charmed going after witches for his own agenda which we'll find out why in due course.
I think in terms of whether Maggie getting the promotion was personal gain or not I see it that she did it to get entry into the command center so they can try and crack the Book Of Elders and know where to find potential witches who need saving and not for her own financial gain which I accept.
Original Charmed's first half season 8 storyline where Piper, Phoebe, and Paige looked different faking their deaths but had the actresses onscreen still fits this storyline better I think because of the natural of it giving better reasons why Mel, Macy, and Maggie would be different on the outside but still played by Sarah, Madeline, and Melonie obviously stopping any chance of exposure from background checks and making demons not know the Charmed Ones are alive also because they'd look and be known different now of course.
Maybe that could've been another safe guard the Elders done activated after the girls went through the portal first episode having new names, looks, and social security numbers already online vocating the need to do it themselves whatnot.
Good that Harry takes being a Whitelighter over his feelings for Macy more important here as it should do obviously.
Hopefully like Leo Abigail's introduced slowly then made a recurring character which was something I enjoyed about original Charmed when it aired.
And nice nod to San Francisco and the previous show with the title episode also.

Of course, when the Elders set this place up, it never occurred to them that they'd all get wiped out. They never planned ahead, did they.
