This was Harry's episode and he ran with it. Apparently he had a few skeletons in his closet from his human life (like a second family) and this is where his dark half came from. A dark lighter is apparently made by extracting the dark part of one's personality and putting them in bottles. All the other dark lighters died with their white halves, but since Harry survived, being a free agent, his dark lighter survived as well.
I'm reminded of the Classic Trek episode, The Enemy Within, in which a Transporter malfunction split Kirk into a light and dark half. Over the course of the episode, Kirk has to realize that he needs his other half to live. Harry is clearly in the same boat here.
These are very different dark lighters than the ones of the original series.
Meanwhile, Mel and Maggie try to find Macy, and conjure up a magical Cujo! Once again, this is more in Dean and Sam's territory.
And poor Katrina was talking to someone we couldn't see. Apparently, that someone was Marisol, as she texts that to Mel. Mel never told Katrina that. So how could Katrina know who Marisol is.
So, was Marisol peeking in from time to time. How else would she know where Macy kept her journal?

So this episode was deinitely less flashy than the previous ones, I liked Mel and Maggie working together to find Macy.
A very character driven episode, I really enjoyed learning more about the whitelighter/darklighter split. I notice the beings performing the ritual were men, so not elders?
I liked Abigael this episode, she's cetainly a lot more charasmatic than her family, though I would like the writers to tone her down a bit, I don't want her taking over the show like a certain other half-demon did in the original.
The spirit who contacted Kat was apparently Marisol, I don't buy it, if Marisol could appear then why wouldn't she just appear to the sisters? And why would she be torturing poor Kat with vision of worms? I don't think its Marisol, I think it might be the sentinel, trying to break free from the astral plane by using Kat. Also the sentinel seemed to be a keen gardener, so I imagine worms might be his symbol of sorts, something that grows underground, like plants.
So I was right about dark Harry, he does have feelings for Macy, as he shares a psychic connection with good Harry, but I still don't then understand why he attacked her back in episode one. There still needs to be a lot explained, like why he was keeping those magical creatures or why he attacked Abigael. Also a "master" was referenced, someone who let dark Harry out of his bottle, I don't think its Abigael, surely too obvious, could be someone we haven't met yet, could be someone we know, perhaps they'll make it Jordan, now that would be unexpected. But I doubt it.
Honestly the only thing that really annoyed me about this week is that yet again, we go another episode and the sisters STILL don't have their powers back, I know I wanted them to take it slower in regards to power progression but in order for that to happen we need them to have ACTUAL powers okay writers?! Get on with it!

I wonder if the two Harry's will be merged back into one. That is what happened to the two Kirk's in the ST episode I mentioned.

I think that's where this is headed, they won't be able to beat him, so the only way will be to have the two merge back together. Which will effectively give us a completely new Harry, not sure how I feel about this actually.

This might restore his memories of his human life, a life, he's just found out, has secrets.
In just under two seasons, Harry has gotten the kind of character development that Piper's favourite whipping boy could only dream about.

It must be great for Rupert Evans to get to play a lot of different versions of the same character but I will miss "our" Harry, imo he was one of the best things about season one.

Indeed he was.
However, I look forward to seeing what direction they take him. When he finds out about his human past, for example.

What I liked about this episode is even though you had two plots happening they both had the same outcome in terms of what they wanted to achieve which I enjoyed overall then.
My favourite of the two was Harry's story and learning more about his life and second family. Dum, dum, dum. Harry you sly dog there which plot development-wise and character drove wise Leo never got in the original series which the writers here are taking in the right direction not just having Harry there but fleshing him out too.
I hope he and Macy don't get together but by the admission Harry spoke of at the end that could very well happen and if so then I'd want that to be different than Piper and Leo's relationship with Harry being treated equally all the time, it not getting in the way if their magical duties, and Macy not whining on dates how magic gets on the way of what she and Harry have obviously.
A solid episode otherwise then.

Whatever happens with Harry and Macy, I cannot see Macy treating him the way Piper treated Leo.
Let's face it, in the later seasons, poor Leo could do no right. He was always getting yelled at, and God help him if he didn't kowtow to the demands of his slave master, uh, I mean wife. I think it's only because of Wyatt and Chris that he didn't pack up and leave the shrill creature.
On the other hand, Macy truly cares about Harry. She and her sisters stood by him when the Elders turned their back on him. To the Vera sisters, he is a friend, heck, he's practically family.

Considering Harry has no real family nearby him as Carter and his children are in Manchester England then the Vera sisters and Macy are Harry's immediate family in a sense.
So when people die and become a White Lighter then they get new names obviously or rather a new identity seeing how Harry went by James Westwell originally.
That ritual on Harry was creepy. I wonder if he knew or had accepted before what was gonna happen when those people did what they did?

The Harry and Macy plots were the best and it is building well. Macy and Datklighter Harry.
And although the season was off to strong start. I feel like were slowly going back a few steps. The romantic plots are starting to take over again with Mel and Maggie. And again they are dividing the sisters. In the reboot we don't have enough development in the characters yet to start having romance a dominate focus. Like outside of Macy. I feel like Mel and Maggie are off doing their own thing unless the story needs them to be. It is very much central to Harry and Macy. And Abigail is starting to feel like she's turning into Cole or Chris getting toi much spotlight. The sisters don't have their powers back.
Jordan feels like he's just another Galvin. I hope he isn't just and just our Dan and filler until Parker returns. We all know he's coming back with how much story Abigail has as a series regular already.
It feels like outside of the Harry and Macy stories. We're still getting the same old business that we had in S1. Once Parker comes back. I'm dreading it's back to Cain focus with him and Abigail getting focus.
But apart from stuff I dislike this season and my fears. Macy and Darklighter Harry story is the one I'm liking and curious to see where it goes.

Yeah, the Harry and Macy thing was the more interesting plot line.
Guess next episode is where they to to find her.
