There was no "Previously On" bit here. None was needed, as this episode was totally independent of what had come before.
This had vibes of Thank You For Not Morphing. In both stories, the sisters long lost father reappeared, was greeted with initial distrust, and the actions of said father inadvertently put the sisters in danger.
However, unlike Victor Bennett, Ray Vera was totally in the dark about magic (he was amazed when Mel and Maggie showed him their magic). And he wasn't seeking them out, rather they just bumped into each other.
Of course, Mel and Maggie are amazed, as they thought their father was dead. Turns out that he was hiding from less than savoury people that he did business with (he's dealing in the black market for archeological stuff). Of course, Mel and Maggie are not too thrilled to see him (Mel suggests dumping him off in Siberia). Can't see I blame them, he had run out on them years before (Mel even called him a loser a few episodes back). They trusted him as far as they could throw him.
It was only as the episode progressed that the ice began to melt. Maggie seemed more willing to give him another chance, but Mel came around in the end.
I wonder if Ray will stick around for a while.
As for the danger, the demon this week had no interest in the sisters or their powers. It was only after that jewel that Ray had taken from Crete. When the jewel was returned, the demon promptly left.
Meanwhile, Macy had to deal with this young millionaire, who wanted to build beneath the Mall, which would have threatened the Command Center. She manages to prevent it, albeit by not using magic (although she was initially going to). Loved how she managed to get rid of that potion.
Looks like this guy is being set up as a love interest for Macy.
And Jordan begins looking into Maggie. In the end, he follows her into the room that lead to the Command Center, only to find an empty room.

Had a feeling Ray wasn't dead, no body means nothing confirmed. At least we finally got to meet another family member, which we all wanted to see.
I gotta admit, I didn't like that he has no idea they were witches. Very wrong for Marsol to keep him in the dark this long even after separating, makes me not think too highly of her. It makes me think Paige Matthews on Classic Charmed has the right idea, she always came clean to the people she loved as soon as possible. Going into a marriage, and even breaking up with lying I don't agree with.
I sure hope, Macy hasn't got a new love interest. *sigh*
Jordan is onto them. I wonder what happens next.
Again this episode proves why not having the Caines appearing is a good thing. No Abagail and Parker and It is so much better.
They sure gotta resolve this them being dead. Anybody can figure out who they are if they do research. No alias names. So easy for them to get caught. The writers got themselves into a mess, they gotta eventually clean up in regards to their manor and identities.
There was no previously on, and this was a nice self-contained episode. Which I'm so glad the show did. I do like it because it lets the show do some character-focused stories than serialized stories every episode.

So in the weeks the shows not aired Mel and Maggie's powers have grown slightly with Maggie anticipating Jordans move the same way Phoebe did Charmed season 7 which in Maggie's case is a good thing helping her out during supernatural fights being a passive power then that I hopes expanded on and not just shown one time obviously including other aspects of premonitions which can be hinted on like sensing where innocents are through visions and getting information from books knowing which page to flip to beforehand saving research time of course.
Recognised the the tech guy Julian from Haven TV series. Hopefully he didn't find the Command Centre though the fact Jordan didn't might be okay then.
It seems the love triangle from original Charmed season 2 will be played out here with him, Macy, and Harry the way he'd be written obviously.
Dad Ray was portrayed a little differently with Mel and Maggie more accepting of him although not knowing his wife and daughters were witches which I think Marisol should've told him whether he accepted that or not actually and his story gave me 'Secrets And Guys' vibes with the relic instead of the Urn.
Did he release the Darklighter unintentionally or was that someone else exactly?
The hitmonster made me think of them like Greek Hydra's who split heads after Hercules beheaded them only this one could revert back unlike them.
So certain magic can uncloak the house then which the sisters might need to look at future wise encase that happens again.
What will Jordan do knowing Maggie died? Will he call her out on it or leave it then after not finding the Command Centre subsequently?

I wonder way Marisol never told Ray? Did she not trust him for some reason? I hope this is explored.
Yeah, I don't miss the Cains either. Their story effectively ended with Season One.

I can understand Marisol not telling Ray about magic, I mean just look at him - he's a crook, willing to sell just about anything, can you imagine if he had gotten his hands on the book of shadows? Considering the kind of person he is, I think Marisol did what she had to do to protect her daughters and her families magic. I do think perhaps the reason Ray left is he found out that Maggie isn't really his daughter, maybe that will come up.
Their powers seem to be growing, though I do miss seeing Mel freeze things so I hope they get those back eventually.

And no love triangles, please.
The Piper/Leo/Dan debacle ruined an otherwise excellent season. Lets' not revisit that.
