One of the good things of this Charmed is how they've handled their villains. They're not all mustache twitching, Mwa-ha-ha caricatures from circa 1950. Rather some of them are genuinely sympathetic characters. Darklighter Helen is one such character. She did not choose to be what she was, rather it was forced on her by outside parties and she had no say in the matter at all.
Helen lived in a time where women were treated more like property than human beings. At sixteen, she was forced to marry a man she didn't love (and he was more then twice her age), she had to give up her true love because of that. If that wasn't bad enough, along come the Elders who literally rip her into two beings. The poor woman went through three hundred years of living hell. Is it any wonder that, when the chance comes, she ends it in the only way possible. By stabbing herself, both Helen's are granted the peace that has been so long denied. Noticed that, after they merged, Helen vanished, and everyone looks upward. Perhaps, in the Spirit World, Helen will at last be united with her true love.
What the Elders did was outright criminal. I don't miss this lot at all.
As a result of this, Harry realizes that his Darklighter is still alive. I'm guessing that, in the end, they'll be merged back together (without Harry having to kill himself, of course).
Once again, the Vera sisters show compassion and mercy. Maggie refused to kill Darklighter Helen, knowing that there has to be another way. When Helen dies, it is at her own hands, not those of the Vera sisters (who tried to save her).
Now, place Piper in that same situation. She would have just blown Darklighter Helen to kingdom come, before going on to bitch about not having a normal life and/or sniping at Leo about something. Caring and compassion were simply beyond her abilities.
In the end, the Vera sisters realize how lucky they are to be living in a time when they can make choices, and not have then made for them. Mel decides to go see that female bartender that was flirting with her at the start of the episode.
Oh, and Abigael and Parker were in the episode, but enough about them (except for Macy not giving Parker's note to Maggie, because she doesn't want to drag Maggie back into that mess again).

I'm just gonna say it, Macy is a big dummy.
How could shel trust Abigael with a spell like that? I knew right from the off she was after her powers, it was obvious. And why would her demonic powers be suppressing her witch ones? They co-existed just fine throughout season one, weird line of thinking there. But she seemed desperate. It was nice to get more of P3 this week regardless.
I have a suspicion that Macy will not get her powers back until she confesses her love to Harry or something (vomits), so at this rate probably not until the end of the season!
I did think she did the right thing keeping that letter away from Maggie, Jordan is a great guy and Parker is just no good for her, best she move on, I know she'll find out at some point and there will be drama but I hope she understands Macy's point of view.
A lot more hinting and foreshadowing in this episode that the Harry's will most likely merge, though its been a while since we've seen his darklighter.
I realize we haven't actually seen Mel really running her shop since she was given it, I wonder why?
Sad to see Helen go like that but with the tragic life she's had she seemed at peace with everything, ready to move on.
A good episode imo, nice to see the sisters working together more and selflessly helping innocents.

I agree. Macy knows a bad relationship when she sees one, and Parker will only drag Maggie down.
Maybe she'll finally hook up with her true love. Nice if that happened.

Okay, this was better, we got more sisterly scenes, which I loved.
Of course, we had the Cain's but we all know how we all feel about them. Moving on.
Macy did what is best, Parker is no good for Maggie. Even, if we all know, we'll get drama about it later.
Okay yes, the sisters have love interests. Mel was flirting with someone, but this isn't like Charmed S4-S8, they are not jumping into bed with new people all the time like PhoeME.
Macy trusting Abigail, LOL, I knew this wouldn't work.
Sad about Helen though.
I enjoyed this one more than last week.

I will review once I've watched the episode then add my thoughts on this afterwards.

Abigael has actually gone up in my estimations since she revealed she likes to spend her spare time torturing Parker.

I will say this episode renewed my faith in the reboot slightly and was miles better than last week in terms of storyline and sisterly moments which I enjoyed watching.
The scene with Mel, Macy and Maggie trying to perform the P03 spell with the triquetra and candles was good reminding me of a classic Charmed P03 spell Prue, Piper's, and Phoebe would've done minus the Latin words of course.
This weeks villain was better than last weeks and not totally dark like later how OG Charmed used to write there's season 5 onward.
Viewers understood Helen's story and why her dark self acted the way she did which in a time where women couldn't choose their own husbands being married under adult age or even vote it wasn't hard thinking what her reaction would be.
Nice Maggie saw that and didn't kill Helen outright at the cemetery showcasing maturity from her that I liked even though good Helen did so later on so dark Helen didn't end Macy.
Hopefully, Helen fought peace with Daniel in the afterlife then.
Didn't care Parker or Abigael being here whom I knew wasn't trustworthy from the start stealing Macy's fire to make her stronger for whatever reason she did which I'm sure we'll find out why in due course but am glad Macy did not give Maggie Parker's letter because she's moving on as she should do after what happened though I do suspect Maggie will be angry later on about the letter when she finds out obviously.
If next weeks episode follows suit with more sisterly moments and a good villain then season 2 maybe redeemable still.

And then what the Elders did to her. It showed that Darklighter Helen wigged out at the mere mention of them.
The Elder of Classic Charmed were dicks, but the bunch here were outright corrupt and power mad. I feel no sympathy for them being wiped out (except for Marisol). Hope they're all roasting in Hell (once again, except Marisol).
Yep, the Vera sisters are capable of showing compassion and mercy towards the villain their fighting, once they get the full story.
If Darklighter Helen had gone up against the later seasons Halliwell sisters, she could expect no such mercy, those creature were simply not capable of it (just ask Phoebe's old high school friend, Rick).
No doubt Maggie will be angry when she finds out. However, IMO, Macy did the right thing.
