Wow, that was a great article, Betty. I had no idea cruise ships had all this dodgy stuff going on behind the scenes. I wouldn’t want to go on another cruise anyways, it was actually kind of boring and having food and booze and gambling 24 hours a day isn’t good for either my compulsive or addictive behaviors. It’s the perfect vacation if you’re a lazy ass who isn’t really interested in other cultures and whose idea of a perfect vacation is eating, drinking and gambling themselves to oblivion. Amazing what you can learn on Cracked. If you're that kind of lazy ass, then that's why Vegas exists. Go fly out there and hit up the casinos. Endless food, booze, and gambling to be found, plus Elvis impersonators and washed-up celebrities. No need to hop on a floating pollution box when the gambling is right here in America. I'd also suggest Atlantic City, but that place has become a ghost town. Courtesy of Orange Hitler, of course.

Those are some creepy photos at the link, Betty. Atlantic City really is a dump, other than the casinos it’s just a derelict ghost town with a lot of slums. Other than the casinos, there isn’t anything else to do or see, the beach isn’t even clean. The local convenience stores sell bus tickets to Atlantic City and it’s nowhere as cool as Vegas, plus there’s casinos in Pennsylvania and Connecticut that are nicer and in areas that aren’t ghost towns.

The local convenience stores sell bus tickets to Atlantic City and it’s nowhere as cool as Vegas, plus there’s casinos in Pennsylvania and Connecticut that are nicer and in areas that aren’t ghost towns. Climate and the advent of air travel hurt Atlantic City and other northern beaches early on. These beaches boomed in the early-mid 20th century when interstate travel was still limited, but once commercial airplanes came along, more people started heading down to beaches where it's warm enough for swimming for longer than two months of the year. Gambling was supposed to be a magic "fix-it" for Atlantic City, but plopping down a bunch of casinos along a single street did zilch for the surrounding area. Tourists had no incentive to do anything besides stay in their hotel rooms and head downstairs to the slots, so surrounding businesses continued to suffer. And, then, there's the fact that Atlantic City pinned so much of their gambling hopes on a spoiled orange jackass who ended up sucking the city dry with his hideously-built and poorly-managed casinos. This building, in particular, stands as a great metaphor for what our country will look like after he leaves the White House.

My friend stayed at the Trump Hotel in Atlantic City years ago and he said it sucked, the room looked cheap and the casino was full of old people and dirty, the food was bad and not cooked right and the whole place looked rundown and neglected. No wonder it went out of business, the only people there were old people by the busload or guys like him who’d won the trip in a raffle. He’d won the trip at our company Christmas raffle, he’s neither a drinker or a gambler😊

Never been to Atlantic City myself. Of course, that's the city that the game Monopoly is based off.
So, Orange Hitler ran AC into the ground, and yet some felt that this was the right guy to run the country!? WTF!?!?
The Boss is from New Jersey, I believe.

All over the place, his hotels have gotten caught with bedbug infestations and filthy, unsafe pools, while rodent infestations run rampant in his restaurants. Mar-a-Lago has had 51 health code violations since 2013! And, why is this? Because, Orange Hitler is a cheapskate. These ugly buildings are thrown up quickly and cheaply, and zero money is spent on cleaning and maintenance. If there's a corner that can be cut, it will be cut. This is why Orange Hitler's track record as a businessman is nothing but wall-to-wall failure. He's running the country the exact same way he ran his casinos. Straight into the ground.

Yeah, a lot of beach towns were devastated along the Jersey Shore. The big roller coaster in Seaside Heights actually got swept out to sea😳. Where I live we were without power for three days and my little brother was driving me nuts since he didn’t have TV or internet or video games, he didn’t understand why. But at least where I live wasn’t flooded, the shore and parts of the city were flooded.

Something that Atlantic City didn't need.

Ugh, those poor people. That’s just like in Hackensack, the county seat of Bergen County where I’ve had a few teaching gigs. The poorer areas near the river are prone to flooding in stormy weather but the wealthier areas in the hills away from the river are safe. I was actually caught in one of those floods when I worked at Jackson School in Hackensack, which is a school in a poor area near the river. I had to take three buses instead of the direct one since the area was flooded, the school had to call the parents to take their kids home earlier because of the flooding. That school was virtually all children of color except for a few white kids with such severe behavioral issues none of the wealthier schools would take them, the school is a lot older and more run down than the schools on the other side of town.

That’s disgusting!🤮 That’s as bad as one of those no-tell motels on the interstate. You might as well stay at one of those since they have the same level of cleanliness instead of Trump’s hotels, it’s cheaper. I have literally seen and stayed in no-tell motels that were cleaner and better-maintained than Orange Hitler's bedbug resorts. He's got all that money, but he doesn't want to spend a dime on upkeep. It's entirely intentional that the poorest neighborhoods are in flood zones. Cities set aside the higher and drier land for wealthier white residents, while poorer black/brown residents were relegated to swampy, low-lying land that's prone to flooding. You see it in cities all throughout the East Coast. Racist city planning literally set things up to be that way.
