We live on the other side of the state and Atlantic City is a four drive. Plus the city itself is a dump outside the casinos and there’s little else to do except gamble, the last time we went our family couldn’t get into the casinos because our brother was underage, we had nothing else to do so we drove back to Wildwood. We’re not big fans of going to the Jersey shore, it’s only fun if you go to gamble in Atlantic City or stay at a hotel on the beach.

Still, next time you're there, visit Lucy.
She survived Sandy, after all.

Awesome, good riddance to bad rubbish. My friend stated there and said it sucked so bad, it was dirty, the food sucked and wasn’t cooked properly and the only other guests were old people. Hopefully the city will build apartments there or another group will build a better casino, good riddance

Oh yeah, it had cost him anyway, though he'd never admit it! Good riddance then - and no more fees for the big baby!!

Check out these photos that were taken inside his other Atlantic City casino, the Taj Mahal. It only closed in 2016, but the decor was dingy and very outdated, and there was extensive mold/water damage everywhere. You can tell that it had to have been a filthy, sleazy pit when it was open. Night and day difference with what the building looks like now as the Hard Rock Casino.

Those pictures are so gross, Betty. Holiday Inn looks better than that, or hell, Motel 6. That's exactly what my friend said about Trump's hotel, it looked really run down and cheap. He'd gone there with his girlfriend and the room looked dingy and the bedding didn't look very clean so they ended buying new bedding from Target and the food was so bad they had to eat outside the hotel even though the food inside was free, they actually spend more money than they expected. Imagine going with your partner to a hotel that's supposed to have free food and having to buy bedding and eat out because the hotel sucks so bad, I knew I'd never stay at any Trump hotel after hearing that

This was shot in the casino before it closed in 2014. The 80s music playing overhead was fitting, because it doesn't look like that place had seen an ounce of renovation since 1984! Also loved how the guy talked about how the staff had to get buckets out every time it rained because the roof was leaking so badly. The mold had to be horrible in there. And, this is what the average room looked like there. VERY cheap and dated looking, complete with old ass CRT TVs! I can just smell the mold and mildew in that room.

Mold and mildew CAN KILL YOU!
Wonder how much bribe money Orange was paying the health inspectors to give the place a passing grade.

I wonder how many bad reviews Trustpilot had of the Trump Plaza online then?

Good question. And yikes! Trump just wants to earn money and not give it out, obviously. No wonder this place looks out of time.

That video was gross, Trump’s hotel looks worse than some no-tell motel 🤮 For that price, one at least expects the hotel room to be clean and modern, not moldy and leaky. There’s a sleazy no-tell motel in our town just a few blocks away from our building and I imagine it looks like that, but I expect mold and leaks in such a place. A big fancy hotel shouldn’t be that gross, no wonder it went out of business

If most hotels were in that condition, they would be closed down before you could say "boo!"
The only reason this didn't happen here is that Orange no doubt bribed them. Not the first time he's used bribes to get out of trouble.

Weirdly relevant now, as many think Dustin Diamond's fatal lung cancer came from mold in hotel rooms. That stuff isn't any joke. Look at some of the images of the Plaza abandoned, and you can see fog on the windows. A clear and obvious sign of very high moisture levels inside the building. That place was a giant mold farm. A big fancy hotel shouldn’t be that gross, no wonder it went out of business Tell me about it. 🤮 I've seen several roadside motels that were cleaner and better-maintained than Orange's money pits. I hope the demolition of this moldy albatross signals the start of a shift away from gambling for AC. Casinos didn't do anything but hollow out the city. Tourists would only go to the casinos, and their money would stay in the casinos. It's not a sustainable business model, especially now that AC isn't the only East Coast town with legal gambling anymore. One reason AC originally started declining in the latter half of the 20th century was because of cheaper and more accessible air travel driving more people to take their beach vacations in Florida and the Caribbean. But, this isn't really the case anymore. Air travel started declining in the 00s thanks to 9/11 and environmental concerns, and COVID drove a massive dagger through it. With long-distance travel on the downswing, it could mean increased interest in AC and other NJ beaches.
