Is this about the "new" law in Texas? I read partly about it, yet why do the Republicans make such a law? It's a woman's body and she only has to decide what to do with!!

Because, with a few exceptions, the Republican party is controlled by a bunch of old white men who see things as they were in the 1950's. To them, women are, and always will be, second class citizens.

Shut up, Rose. No one wants to hear you're crazy views anymore.
You don't even live in the U.S. anymore. Why should you even care.

I wish she'd just embrace being a conservative wingnut and stop pretending to be some sort of "progressive" or "feminist." She's literally spitting out straight-up GOP talking points about Hillary. And, she obviously has no problem with Texas' draconian abortion law. And, I'm tired of people making excuses for her because of mental illness. Most mentally ill people don't fall down the rabbit hole of political extremism and conspiracy theories.

LOL, she's literally out for everybody. Every few weeks, its another person she has it out for, I'm just sick of her, and still continues to go at Alyssa Milano at every chance. I just ran into a recent story about her saying Oprah Is βAs Fake As They Come". Rose, it's you who is fake.

I know about her attacks on Alyssa. Thankfully, Alyssa, being a much better person, just wished Rose well and moved on.

Well, obviously this whole #MeToo Campaign has she missed, or ignored. Hard to say with her nowadays. She makes herself alone.

We talk a lot about the consequences of the 2016 election and the lasting damage that was done by not voting for the Email Lady, but that was not the only modern presidential election that ended up having grave implications and consequences. We need to talk about 2000. And, today is especially a good day to do it, as the horrors that occurred 20 years ago might not have even happened had "boring" Al Gore been in the White House, instead. There had been repeated warnings of a terrorist attack throughout spring-summer 2001, and Dubya ignored every single one of them. And, the disaster that occurred last month in Afghanistan? Yup, also Dubya's fault. He charged into the country without any game plan (while diverting resources and attention to an even more useless war in Iraq), and the end result was 20 years of "nation-building" that the Taliban was able to undo in the matter of just a few weeks. We didn't even catch Bin Laden until almost a decade later, when we had a different (and far more competent) president in the White House. And, more alarmingly, there's the way that the 2000 election was "decided" in the first place, with a conservative-majority Supreme Court stopping the ballot recount and handing the election to Dubya. That, alone, had grave consequences for democracy, helping to pave the way for the "stop the steal" shenanigans of 2020.

I remember the mess of 2000. Nothing like that had ever happened before (or since).
Still, if Gore had won, where would we be now?

Too many people didn't realize how good we had it under Clinton. For the first time since (at least) the early 60s, we weren't at war and had a booming economy. Like him or not, he had gone a long way towards undoing the damage done by 24 years of almost-nonstop GOP rule (1969-1993), and Gore would've continued that progress. But, I guess one too many people got bored of things being good and wanted to "shake things up."π They bought Nader's snake oil about "both sides are the same" and refused to come out for Gore, allowing the election to be close enough for Dubya and the Supreme Court to steal.

This is something we never find out now. Though this election of 2000 had its own drama, and the whole American election system is in need of changing, I think. Well, it seems that still nothing was learned from past mistakes by now.

The system was created in 1787 and reflects a world that no longer exists.
Of course, it needs to change, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Yeah, so do I. Well, the USA once stood for progress but the country is more divided than ever before. Or the "split" has more deepened since the Civil War. It's really time that the USA makes some new progress regarding this but therefore the country needs to open up.
