Still, I did enjoy Delia (Camryn Manheim) and that, at first, she was a skeptic. It took her a while to accept that, yes, Melinda, did see ghosts. Of course, one of said ghosts was Delia's husband.
Her son, Ned, was much more accepting, of course.

I suppose it depended on people's perspectives then and what they believed in and how open-minded they was to Melinda's gift which some were more than others obviously.

Yeah, some people would see Melinda apparently talking into empty air and think "this woman is nuts!"
Others, like Ned, were more open minded to the idea of ghosts and that Melinda could see and talk to them.

Surprisingly she wasn't sent to the nut house then.

No, but she was teased about it. I remember an episode that flashed back to her high school years. Ghosts would come to Melinda then, and her fellow student would make fun of her talking into thin air.

That would certainly be a difficult time for a teenager at a young stage in their life trying to balance school work without being picked on or seem oddly weird talking to thin air. I mean it's not like Melinda could ignore them, is it? And if she tried to they'd just keep coming to her, wouldn't they so there wasn't much she could do there then.

Nope, ignoring the ghosts wasn't an option. Melinda has had to deal with this her whole life.
Of course, it helped that, when she was younger, she had her grandmother to help her.

Yeah, that's better than being alone I suppose.

Of course, Melinda still had to deal with the ghosts. And she couldn't tell most people what she was doing, they would think she was crazy.

I've been rewatching Ghost Whisperer S1. I literally forgot half the episodes. I'm onto disc 3 of S1 on DVD.
But the amount of guest stars on the show is high. The pilot alone has five people I know.
Wentworth Miller as Sgt. Paul Adams (obviously known from Prison Break and Legends of Tomorrow)
Jon Polito Jon Polito as Joe Grimaldi (I've seen him as a character actor on many shows)
June Squibb June Squibb as Melinda's Grandma (Sheldon's grandmother from The Big Bang Theory)
Eddie Jones Eddie Jones as Funeral Ghost (Lois and Clark as Jonathan Kent)
Balthazar Getty Balthazar Getty as Michael (Richard from Charmed)

Wow, that's a lot of guest stars there. But then most TV shows have tons of none central cast members who appear on things I mean the number of people who appeared on Charmed famous or not famous until later was astounding actually.

I knew she looked familiar when I saw her on BBT.

I know Leonard's mother from TBBT is Jim's mother in Season 1 of Ghost Whisperer too. I believe she was recast in S4 when the actress got busy.

That's right. So here are two GW actors who went on to appear on BBT.

Katey Sagal from Sons of Anarchy and Married with Children and Futurama just appeared in an episode I watched last night. This show has such a great track record of guests so far. I'm expecting more. I really love how this show really was great at making Melinda remain the star and the other main characters support. I never felt anybody stole attention off our lead, unlike many shows.
