The title pretty much says it all. Maggie get a prediction that someone is going to die. And since she has no idea who that someone is, she can't do anything about it. And someone did die, unfortunately, for those hoping it was Abby or Parker, I must dash those hopes.
This episode was originally supposed to be penultimate episode of S2, and it shows. The faction is finally defeated, but at a cost.
The death Maggie predicted was that of Julian. All through the episode, Macy stuck up for him, saying that he was on their side. He proved it by getting himself killed trying to stop his evil Aunt. In fact, Vivienne is the one that kills him, when he tries to talk her out of her scheme.
However, Vivienne is too far gone by now. Whatever he original motives were, they are gone. She has been corrupted beyond all hope. After killing Julian, she uses that magical thingie to go after the Charmed Ones. Breaking into the command center, Vivienne uses black amber to soup herself up even more. At that point, the sisters use the Power Of Three to direct energy beams at Vivienne. At first, Vivienne if delighted, but she failed to realize it's called the Power Of Three for a reason, namely no one being can hold them all. As the sisters watch, Vivienne is literally consumed by all the magic she has absorbed and is destroyed.
For the first time in this incarnation, the Charmed Ones were forced to take a human life. However, they really had no other options, it was literally kill or be killed. As I said, Vivienne was too far gone by now. There just wasn't time for the sisters to find a way to stop her and keep her alive at the same time. Besides, as Harry discovered, all the magical creatures that Vivienne capture had been slaughtered by now. And some of these creatures were sentient beings. This was a crime beyond reproach. Vivienne is now in Hell, where she rightfully belongs, IMO.
On a lighter note, Ruby, the lesbian witch reappeared. Looks like she and Mel might be starting up again.
And Jordan is back, much to Maggie's happiness.
Macy is sad because of Julian's death, but looks like Harry will help her through it.
But wait, there was one episode left, remember. Well, as it turns out, when Vivienne used the black amber, she poisoned all magical beings in the world, witches and demons alike (this was hinted earlier in the episode). Now the race is on to find a cure. I'm guessing the next episode will be devoted to that.
However, we have a two week wait, as, like Batwoman, Charmed is taking next Sunday off, as to not go up against the Super Bowl. Once again, can't blame them.

This episode suffered from what the reboot as a whole has been suffering from in that everything feels too rushed and the end always feel anticlimactic. We jump from her being powerless to having consumed magic from almost every being in the magical community yet she's gone minutes later. The season spends time building up to this point but then throws it all away in forty minutes. And as Tim said, it ends in the sisters taking a human life. It's all very underwhelming.
Peyton List is given more to do than she's had all season yet it's playing Julian and not Nadia. This feels like a waste of her talents and it's a real shame she didn't get given more. I'm worried that the Clarion Potion is suddenly a get out of jail free card and if they don't use it going forward, we'll all be wondering why they don't. Ultimately, it's always a mistake introducing something like this.

And I hope this is dealt with. Yes, Viv was beyond all hope of saving, and had to be stopped. Yet, she was still human, not a demon.
Once things calm down, the sisters should deal with this. Have them debate as to whether they could have been another way.

Vivian's arc really was rushed, I'm honestly surprised her getting the powers and attacking the Charmed Ones wasn't the cliff-hanger. It was such a build-up and very underwhelming. Another issue is Mel. What is with her getting so many love interests, I'm zero invested in her love life, when she's had four love interests in two seasons. I was actually sad they didn't do more with Niko. What they did with Mel erasing Niko's memories was just so stupid, after five episodes, how are we suppose to care about them as a couple and Niko, when we barely got to see them. I liked the love interest she had in early S2, but then she just leaves, and now her new love interest Ruby, I'm not invested in at all. When she's the least interesting from the others.

Yes, at very least you expect that to lead to the big finale showdown. I wonder whether production being delayed changed that as there is no longer a finale and extending the storyline to the mid season finale might have stretched out the story for too long. But you could imagine a world where having killed Julian, Viv might've disappeared for a period of time while she learns to control her powers before a big midseason finale showdown. Completely agree with Mel. Nico and Jada were both interesting characters. But I have no interest in her Season 2 partners. I think the reason Nico and Jada were written out is because in all honesty, they're significantly more interesting than Mel herself.

Could be. Looks like they want to get the S2 stuff out of the way, before moving onto other things for the rest of S3.
