Well, that was a great premiere. Probably my favorite Arrowverse Pilot EVER. I might re-watch this again later this week. The opening montage was a great tribute to the love of Clark and Lois, and the overall Superman mythology. I loved it. The cinematic feel is fantastic, and looks like something you'd see in the DC Man of Steel films. Really digging the family dynamic so much. Clark and Lois of course have sons in the comics, but never at the same time, and never in the traditional domestic family sense, so this is quite the story to tell. Jon and Jordan are quite the pair of brothers, constantly at each others throats, but the brotherly bond and love is certainly there. Giving Jordan the superpower story was quite the surprise, considering Jon is the well known son in the comics, but it also works well considering Jordan's mental problems. Speaking of Jordan, I can't help but feel there is more to him then meets the eye. The show seemingly confirms he is Clark and Lois's son, but I do wonder if there could be another explanation aka The Chris Kent theory. Finally, so Captain Luthor is the Big Bad? Interesting, another Crisis aftermath problem. So is he an actual version of Lex from a dead Earth? Shouldn't that mean he and Earth Prime Lex will go through what Beth and Alice went through on Batwoman? All in all, it had its problems, but I'm really looking forward to what comes next. What a great opening episode, and it helps it was 1 hour and 3 mins long, I prefer longer pilots letting the plot breath. We all know how the Charmed reboot suffered with so much content in 42 mins. I loved it.
Poor Clark was not having a good day. He gets fired from his job at the Daily Planet, and then he gets the call that Martha Kent, his human foster mother, has died of a stroke. All those powers he has, and he couldn't save her.
So Clark, Lois, and their two sons, Jonathan and Jordan, head to Smallville to attend Martha's funeral and to sort out her estate. While there, they learn that the town has fallen on hard times, partly due to the machinations of Morgan Edge (who also was the one who pink slipped Clark).
And that as how we got here. Clark and Lois decide that they are going to remain in Smallville and live on the Kent farm, and keep it out of Edge's hands any way they can.
During these events, Jonathan and Jordan find out their father's secret and are, not that I blame them, quite angry.
Clark sees his old friend, Lana Lang, who is herself married and has two daughters. The younger daughter, Sarah, bonds with Jordan.
Jordan then begins to manifest powers. Why it took so long is probably due to the fact that he's half-human.
Looks like Lois is going to do some private snooping into just what Edge is really up to.
And who is this "Captain Luthor". Is he connected to Lex? And, if so, how?
Definitely well worth the wait.

I LOVED IT! I want episode 2 already. I also liked the special after it.
I like the fact it’s shows Clark is human because as great as he is as Superman he realizing that he hasn’t been the best Dad.
I like that it set up Lois having her own story with her own villain Morgan Edge and Superman having his own I just hope a Luthor is just for this season and is he Lex or another Luthor?
Lana's husband was just a jerk.
I was surprised they showed early on one of the boys having powers I just don’t want a situation where one is good and one is evil I definitely don’t want a love triangle with Lana's daughter Sarah even if she does have a boyfriend.
Visually, this pilot was like a movie.
Poor Martha, all those powers and he could not save her. So Lois still works at the Daily Planet but Clark is fired. I'm sure he'll get his job back one day, once Edge is gone.
I like Jordan and Jon's characters. Social anxiety disorder is serious, so hope they go more into that for representation.

Guess she'll telecommute. And it would be nice if she is the one to bring down Edge.

Yup, looks like it and use zoom for staff meetings etc. No doubt, that is her arc this season. I like it. I'm guessing Mellissa's pregnancy, prevented a cameo in the pilot at Martha's funeral or Clark's wedding in the flashbacks. No doubt, she'll pop in later for a cameo.

Lois is an excellent reporter. Whatever skeletons that Morgan Edge is hiding, she'll find them.

Yep, and I love seeing her investigate. Hate to say other DC shows lack showing the characters in their jobs. So I can't wait for Lois' story with investigating and working. I also loved Lois and Clark's 90s show with the investigating and Daily Planet scenes.

Or no point flying Melissa in for a mere quick cameo. Don't worry I'm sure she'll pop up later. I personally think it's better to not show her too soon. Let us get used and grow to love the new ones first before having her appear.

I actually thought this was a really strong pilot.Tyler & Bitsie really sold their version of Lois and Clark in the flashbacks.
It had some really, really strong family moments, which I enjoyed. I loved the cinematography and how they shot their fight sequences as well. They went all out and they delivered.
I guess the only qualm I have is they took the typical CW route (kill the older characters) to off Martha. Personally I'd be fine if she died a little later in S1, but they didn't give us enough time to invest in her character and she's gone already.
Tyler Hoechlin did a fantastic job as Clark for this. I mean, he did a fantastic job in the Arrowverse prior, but this was a very strong introduction to his own led show. Clark was bumbling and charming, but Superman showed an air of confidence and dominance. Bitsie Tulloch also did great with Lois. I really thought she showed the inner strength of Lois very well and how dedicated she was to protecting her family. And the Clark and Lois scenes were very strong.
And they set up the villain and overarching plots for the season fairly well. I liked the character of Sarah, though her parents need more development for me to really enjoy them.
I think the Captain Luther thing, as is Clark and Lois having twin sons are the consequences of Crisis. But we’re getting the story of Clark as seen post crisis, and I assume Lois at well, but the ending of Crisis was sufficiently ambiguous that maybe Lois doesn’t know, just Clark. I expect we’ll be seeing more Crisis consequences as this season goes on.
