I will say I'm surprised Lois settled for a small town paper job, as the show keeps reminding us, she's Lois freakin' Lane! Award winning etc, she could probbaly show up at any big newspaper not owned by Edge and get a job if she wanted. I suppose its just convenience really.
I know the show is set mainly in Smallville but I do hope we get to see more of Metropolis.
One thing that is bothering me a bit of the lack of references to Supergirl. I know this show is kind of its own thing, but it is set in the Arrowverse so I find it weird that they have made no mention of Kara yet, aren't the boys curious about who Supergirl is? Since she wears the same kind of costume and does the same thing in saving the world from time to time?

Award winning etc, she could probbaly show up at any big newspaper not owned by Edge and get a job if she wanted. I suppose its just convenience really. That might be it, or making it realistic to current times. Where news is more online/social media than a newspaper these days. That's my fear. The showrunner, wanted the Smallville setting in the first place because he is a country boy who grew up that way.
But Smallville as a setting can only go so far with stories set in a small town. It will g
Smallville made it work with using both Smallville and Metropolis. And depending how long this show lasts, the sons will graduate high school by season 5 or 6, since both are 14. So I don't think they'll keep them living in Smallville the whole series. Lois might return to the Daily Planet one day when Edge is gone.
I wonder if COVID, is why we might not see Metropolis too much as filming in the countryside than a busy city might be easier. I love Metropolis and hope we still get stories here.
I'm sure she'll be mentioned soon enough. Perhaps they want viewers to get to know the new characters in this one, and establish the show first before throwing in mentions of Supergirl and other DC shows. Feel's like the show is tailored to new fans who never saw the other DC shows on CW before.
Once Supergirl is mentioned, you almost have to have her appear. As then fans will keep asking for Supergirl to interact with Clark and his sons. Maybe that's why.

I am sure that she (and other DC characters) will be mentioned later in the season after some character development has been set in stone for the show. Probably only mentions though, no cameos (due to COVID).

Another interesting theory I read online somewhere. Some think that Jor El analyzed Jordan and found no traces of powers. When Jordan used powers, in the barn and at the party, he was always with his brother, and in dangerous situations. So the risk and adrenaline may have a role in it.
Maybe they only have powers, but only together. They need to be close to use them. And some think that a reinvention of the Superman Red/Superman Blue concept may be used. An unpopular story in which superman was separated into 2 entities, a blue, and a red. Both of them had different aspects of Superman's powers and personality. Maybe it works here with the twins, and they already have very different personalities.

Wow, I made it. Caught up here as well. Phew! Right, adjustments have to be made here and it seems that all had settled well. So Jordan gets to know his real Grandpa about his powers, though there might be only temperorary from what I understood. Weird though. Never mind, so Edge is really putting Lois over her edge when she quits the Planet for the Smallville Gazette. Yep, she doesn't like to be re-written. The barbecue at Lana's seem interesting and new friends were made, at least along the kids but the adults are having a harder time here. So, Captain Luthor thinks this Superman will turn into the one he remembered and he knew Capt. Lane. Okay, I've got a headache again.

I saw the extended cut which was 45 minutes long.
Lois and Clark's closeness at the start when they arrived at Martha's house I enjoyed.
Them talking to Jordan about his abilities and their concerns with him going to school reminded of the talk Martha and Johnathan had with Clark in Smallville.
I felt bad for Jordan saying moving into the farmhouse made him feel like a freak.
Captain Luthor was looking for more Kryptonite to stop what Superman did in his world here meaning his version was evil there like Ultraman I assume?
Evil Superman was terrifying. I wonder if we'll see him some point unless he died when Captain Luthor's world did?
Clark and Jordan's bonding at the fortress was nice. Jordon clearly liked flying though it's a shame Johnathan wasn't included. The place looked different from the Supergirl fortress. Not sure what to make of it yet but interested seeing further into it obviously.
Jor-El's AI sounded like Sir Patrick Stewart before we saw him although I know it wasn't him doing the voice.
The history of Krypton's destruction was changed from Supergirl's story no doubt post Crisis being how this show wants to be different from other CW shows which I understand but hope a couple of things link this still to the Arrowverse.
Lois saying we have radio made me smirk.
Typical Johnathan's already bullied on his first day. Sarah's boyfriend needs a telling off. She should dump him.
The brothers bond keeps interesting me. I look forward to more scenes with them.
We meet Morgan Edge who's a creep and knows how to get people persuaded by him. I'm glad Lois left the Daily Planet and now works at the Smallville Gazette although I hope that doesn't stop us from seeing Metropolis as there's only so many stories which can centred around Clark's hometown.
Chrissy Beppo reminded me of Smallville's Chloe who I assume the series was originally goanna have her penned as but with what's happened Allison Mack has forgone that naturally.
It'll be tough on Lois trying to take Edge down without the Planets resources though interesting seeing how her and Chrissy's work relationship turns out.
I understood Sam Lane's misgiving's in what's happened to Lois's life since her knowing Clark's secret and what it could do to the boys now they know but that doesn't mean he had to be straight up mean about it then.
It's clear Captain Luthor played on Sam's concerns about Clark then wanting him to become a villain.
Loved the continuing jokes.
So Jordan's heat vision was a one off thing meaning Johnathan's the one with powers perhaps which happened in the pilot because they were together at the bonfire and Jordan's able to scythe of Kryptonian energy a little bit exerting abilities temporarily? Interesting if that is although I felt bad for him again.
Lois was one of my favourite characters this episode barring the boys from her wanting to out Morgan Edge to her conversations throughout with Clark and her sons.
Sarah's already suspicious about the Kent boys asking questions. I wonder how long it'll be before she finds out the truth and will that be before her mother or father does?
Lana's husband's continuing to be someone I disagree with pinning all his hopes on someone and stomping on anyone who doesn't like Edge. Lana should divorce him. And Clark trying to be a better father and letting Jordan go to school in the end made him more human than Kryptonian.
A good episode al round otherwise then.

Melinda HalliwellYeah most of us thought of Chloe seeing Chrissy. No doubt, that was likely the plan. Hate Lana's husband. Glad you saw the extended cut.
