This episode was clearly meant to be the S2 premier, at least that's the impression I got, from Nancy's opening narration.
Poor Nancy ends up doing community service in a morgue, of all places. That's where she comes into contact with a body that doesn't seem quite dead. And that body follows her home!
Soon Nancy assembles the Drew Crew and brings them up to speed. Love how most of them are used to this stuff by now.
The initial assumption is that the body is that of a murder victim, who wants his murder solved. However, as it turns out, said body was never human, but rather a creature that preyed on children. Nancy's opening of those boxes last week released it back into the world.
And the creature soon sets its sights on George's two youngest sisters.
However, the Drew Crew manage to find a way to stop the monster. They summon the spirits of the children the monster killed, and said spirits destroy the monster.
Luckily, George's sisters aren't harmed and have no memory of the events.
That poor coroner guy didn't deal with things very well. Of course, the guy saw what seemed to be a dead body get up and walk away, so his breakdown is understandable. Still, at the end, he recovers and helps Nancy come up with a cover story to keep Officialdom away.
And Nancy is going to work for Carson part time as an investigator. Seems the two of them are on the way to patching things up.
And then there is George, who seems to be possessed by Odette. There were clues, such as her singing in French, a language she doesn't even speak.
I see more spooky hijinks for the Drew Crew ahead.
No new episode next week, but the show will be back the following week (March 10).

Ace continues to be a delight. I loved when he and Bess were trying so hard to casually justify examining the haunted corpse (and kudos to the writers and the makeup/special effects people because that thing just got creepier and creepier as the episode went on). I also appreciated that he offered to talk to George when Nick said he was worried about her but didn't want to push her too much. Ace did a good job talking to her about it too. He was empathetic but he kept asking questions so that she would talk to him about it.
I'm interested to see how the relationship between Nancy and Connor develops. They started out understandably antagonistic but now that he's seen what he can't unsee, maybe he will eventually become the Ravi to her Liv. Between her community service at the morgue and working for Drew, now she will have access to all kinds of cases that might not have crossed her path (or might have crossed her path much later).
I was glad that Hannah spelled out exactly why she was furious at Nancy for potentially unleashes God knows what from those boxes, but I was also glad that Nancy made it clear she was trying to figure out exactly what was going on with the creepy corpse because she was trying to protect the town. Hannah's anger is totally justified because Nancy was reckless, but hopefully once Nancy proves that she is going to take responsibility for the consequences of whatever escaped, Hannah will continue to thaw towards her.

The Drew Crew have really gotten used to this stuff happening all the time. Loved the way Ace put on the gloves, like he was in a CSI episode.
Yeah, I agree. Hannah had every right to be angry at Nancy. Yes, Nancy did it to save a friend, but still, as we see, there are consequences.

Consequences for sure. Will be interesting to see where it goes from here. Sucks we have a break.

Least this one won't be so long. One week off, then the Drew Crew is back with us.
