Yeah, we can quickly adjust. We can only look forward. When this is over, we might think what that was. If only.

I'm just surprised that no dictators have emerged. A crisis like this is just breeding ground for one.
Remember how Hitler got in. He didn't seize power, the German people willingly gave it to him. Germany was in full crisis, and Hitler took advantage of that. He told everyone that, if they followed him, everything would be okay. And they believed him.

Yeah, our democracy is suffering, that's for sure. The politicians here may have the right intentions but they can't explain it easily to the people. Many people are getting frustrated here when there's no perspective ahead. This goes more for local shops and all. *sighs*

The next Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin could be just around the political corner, if this continues.

Yet the party who has such a tendency here (Alternative for Germany) also has no solutions to provide here but they talk and complain a lot!

The tone of this thread right now: Time for me to be moderator. You guys need to cut it with the "new normal" and "next Nazi Germany" talk. This doom and gloom bullshit doesn't do any good. It won't heal the sick or bring back the dead. All it will do is send vulnerable people deeper into depression and drive them a few steps closer towards suicide. Do you really want to see that? Even before COVID hit, suicide rates were at record levels. This kind of talk is DANGEROUS.
Please only share verified, unbiased news in this thread. I don't want to see anymore apocalypse fantasies. Keep it to PMs, not where everyone else can see it.

And I'm a bit afraid to test myself, even it's for free here. I really don't want to know.

My mum's and mine's second vaccines are in April her's the 24th and mine the 28th with further booster shots scheduled for over 70's and vulnerable/care home adults in September for new variants arisen.
Wales is the first of the 4 UK nations today to come out of lockdown with the message stay local around including some tourist attractions which reopened as well.
People certainly took advantage of that which was good for them.
Scotland and England will start releasing lockdown next week with 6 people from 2 households meeting outside, hairdressers being reopened, and pubs allowing to serve alcohol in their gardens before indoor serving resumes May 17th meaning things should be looking up from then hopefully.

My mum just got her first dose on Friday, and already has her next one set for June.
Me and my sister are still waiting for our eligibility email so they can register to get it.
My mum was fine after getting the first dose on Friday. On Saturday she started to get chills. Today on Sunday she feels weak, tired, and hot. We checked her temperature and it is about 36.6, which is normal, a fever would be 38.
I'm keeping an eye on her, as she is just so exhausted and said she feels like 100 years old. Hopefully, these side effects pass in a few days.

Yeah, I’m concerned about the vaccine too. I don’t have any preexisting health issues, but it’s a new vaccine. Hopefully I’ll just feel sleepy for a few days

The way our vaccination plan goes, I might have to wait until autumn, though our government says it could be done quicker next month. Hard to tell here. *sighs*
