With mum's 74th birthday in a couple of weeks I bought her two presents one being an engraved watch with a message on the back and a newer mobile flip phone that has an outer screen on the front telling you the time and who's ringing before you answer then which the phone she currently has doesn't include of course.
It has big buttons inside and an extra loud ringer which can be used with hearing aids so she won't have to take one of her's off to speak with whoever's on the other end.
Last year we were meant to see a relaxed performance of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in London which got rescheduled for the 5th September this year due to COVID 19 and is going ahead still as of this minute.
My job paid me rather well this month more than I expected for some reason other than working one-day holiday club overtime last month so to celebrate mum's birthday also and the fact she and I love steam train rides I booked a day trip from London to Bournemouth last night on Saturday the 3rd July leaving around 9 am and arriving 12.20 pm with free time to look around town before departing 5.20 to get back into the London 8.30 obviously.
I saved £40 through a deal which can be used on something else. These types of trips sell out quickly hence why I booked last night.
We won't be premium dining but can take food and drink on board the carriage although refreshments will be available to purchase via the trolley going up/down various points.
We've been to Bournemouth a few times before but it's the journey that's counts which will be on a preserved 1960 steam locomotive bells and whistles and all which we'll certainly look forward to.
If we can't go due to COVID 19 then our tickets either will be transferred free of charge to another date or get refunded whatever we decide then.
