I just got my booster, my arm hurts a little but I’ll probably have side effects later tonight or tomorrow. If all goes well, my family can get their boosters

I'm sure any side effects will be minor.

I'll give my doc another call on Monday since my cold is over. Hopefully, I'll get the booster soon as well, finally.

I’m fine except for the soreness on my arm, but I am starting to feel warm. I got the booster at the CVS pharmacy inside our local Target, it’s convenient since it’s close by and we were able to do a little grocery shopping afterwards. It’s below freezing today and I wore a sweater, a hoodie and my winter coat with a wool hat. When they took my temperature, it was slightly high because of all my layers but after a minute my temperature went back to normal. Target is a big box store like Walmart, they offer all the Covid vaccines at their pharmacies and one can shop when you’re done

Where mum and I got our boosters was in a shopping center opposite a football shop then. The place is a pop-up vaccine nerve operated by the NHS in a vacated building which a lot of areas around the UK have. Like other countries, doctor's surgeries, libraries, and pharmacies are also offering jabs that you can either walk or book to go in.
We also went shopping afterward.
Whether the NHS pays rent on the empty buildings they currently occupy I don't know but will vacate those once no longer needed then.
I'm glad you've not had too much of a reaction to your vaccine Vanessa and whatever you did get will subside in a couple of days.
Was it Pzfier or Moderna that you had actually?

My first vaccine was at a local racetrack set up as a vaccination center, Mom got hers at a local university campus and my brother at Target. I got the Moderna, I chose this Target because it was only a ten minute drive and we could do grocery shopping afterwards.

Hearing how Kyle caught COVID but thankfully didn't end up in hospital one of my work colleagues has it a second time but was already booster vaccinated so they should be okay.
Unfortunately, two staff at the home where my sister lives have COVID so mum and I can't see her for the next two weeks which is understandable then. They will notify us when it's safe to have her again.

Yeah, the vaccine doesn't make you immune. However, it does lessen the impact.
Of course, when poor Jean was hit, there was no vaccine yet.

One of my pet peeves although I do see their point slightly I guess is when someone doesn't get jabbed because they think it's a waste of time as the vaccine doesn't prevent COVID which's what they want then. They're not anti-vaxxers but only get injections if they know they prevent you from catching things like Whooping Cough and polio which work ultimately.
Unfortunately, as most people know not all medicines protect you but it's better to have some form of a barrier than not having any at all of course.

Some people just don't know any better.
I mean the facts are there, if they are willing to look them up.

So happy to be back, and COVID-free. Yes, SO glad I am fully vaccinated, as it could have been worse. I was sick for two weeks with a bad throat and headache and very tired, but that's about it. Just drank fluids and rested the entire time until I tested negative. And the anti-vaxxers are just so annoying. They'll think twice when someone they love or themselves is in the hospital or in ICU fighting for their lives. Melinda Halliwell. Sorry to hear about your work colleagues. Luckily being fully vaccinated, they'll likely just experience it like me, it will go away in two weeks, and be back on their feet. Sorry, you can't see your sister anytime soon. But hopefully, you can when it's safe. Hearing how Kyle caught COVID but thankfully didn't end up in hospital one of my work colleagues has it a second time but was already booster vaccinated so they should be okay.

I know. They'll bleat about sticking up for their rights, until one of them winds up in the hospital. If you ask me, those that refuse to get vaccinated, and then get COVID, should be made to pay for their treatments out of their own pockets.

Unfortunately, in the UK that's not an option. Everyone must be allowed free NHS healthcare despite their opinions or not then. Freedom of rights is big thing out there after all.

Our government is also debating about an obligation for vaccination and still many people are protesting against the COVID rules here. The debate is just as long as this virus is on the world.
I also prefer being prepared and get my jab before more or worse happens.
