This is a long one, so I decided to make a thread, rather than stick it in the Shoutbox. All further updates will be here.
Latest from Jean's sister:
So sorry Tim, I sent an update your way. But it didn't go through it seems. I found it in the draft folder, my apologies.
UPDATE from LAST SUNDAY:
I FINALLY SPOKE TO MY SISTER OVER THE PHONE. That was the happiest I've been in two months just to talk to her. I only spoke to her for about four minutes, but she was confused and out of it and stumbled a little bit. We did get a laugh in or she tried to tell me that she liked the jello she was given to eat, but it wasn't as nice as the one she likes at home. She still didn't sound well to me, and hopefully, now I can call her daily for updates.
Doctors and Nurses warned u that recovery can also involve periods of confusion, impaired thinking, hallucinations, anxiety, and depression. And warned us that long-term side effects are possible.
They have checked her fever and it is
She might be able to leave the ICU ward in a week and go to a rehabilitation hospital which I'm told has an entire unit for COVID-19 patients.
UPDATE TODAY:
I got to speak to Jean another two times this week (still feels foggy, a bit out of it, and repeats sentences). Although doctors think it will take a few months or more for recovery. They are concerned that her being on the ventilator for that long might cause other complications (keep praying). They said patients may also experience mental health issues, such as PTSD [post-traumatic stress disorder]. Nonetheless, ventilators are be life-saving and, many of those who’ve survived severe cases of COVID-19 would be unlikely to have made it without one.
Jean is still being monitored *although she still hasn't tested negative for the virus just yet). She might FINALLY be able to leave ICU and relocate to a COVID ward in a rehabilitation centre soon. I sure am praying and hoping.

Let's all pray that the worst is over.
