Wow, this one was really out there! It's the Cuban Missile Crisis, the world is a gnat's ear away from World War III, yet two complete strangers (Nate and Zari) just waltz into the Oval Office and no one so much as asks them for ID. Riiight! The only character that does ask the right question, is treated like raging warmonger. And what is it with General Warmonger anyway? He seems willing to start a war that would kill countless millions and doesn't have a problem with it. How in the dead gods of Krypton did a guy like that get into such a high position. JFK calls Jackie and tells her to take the kids out of town. Yeah, like that would have saved them. Cuba fires a nuclear missile at D.C., which lands on the White House lawn (killing General Warmonger in the process). Yes, it was a dud (since Mick removed the warhead), but still. Guess Nate talked his new best buddy, JFK, into letting it slide. Surprised Nate didn't take the time to tell his new buddy not to visit Dallas the following year. Or at least have Lee Harvey Oswald taken into custody for the duration of said visit. Or warn Bobby to stay away from the Ambassador Hotel on June 5, 1968.
Sara wasn't in this one. Guess Caity was prepping for the next episode, which she'll direct.
No new episode next Sunday (probably because next weekend is the Memorial Day Holiday in the U.S.), but we're back the following Sunday (June 6th).

This episode reminded me a bit of older episodes, when the gang met a lot of historical figures and bumbled through historical events trying to keep the timeline on track.
Not a bad episode, although I really missed Sara.
I swear, it almost feels like the they really are setting up Ava to realize that she's a bad captain and give the title totally back to Sara and focus on administrative stuff that she is good at. She's really just not good with people, and the leader of the team really needs to be able to go with the flow and make up plans on the fly.
I don't think that Zari and Nate have really had a plot together, and I like that they acknowledged that seeing Zari 2.0 can be hard for Nate, who cant be with OG Zari anymore but does have to see a woman who looks just like her all of the time.

Well, they sure did that here. One wrong step, and World War III starts.

I hope Mick remembers to not trust Kayla now that she's hot. LOL Sara tried to kill her so she's not going to be happy to see her.
The episode had me thinking that the show is setting it up to make everyone realize, especially Ava, that she is not captain material so that when Sara comes back it will really be clear that Sara, just Sara, is the captain. Once Sara comes back she's just going to so easily fall into place as captain and Ava is going to realize, yeah, no, she's not a captain. I could be wrong, but that really does seem to be Ava's Arc this season and I don't think that this would have worked with Sara around. And I think that is why they took Sara out of the equation. So that everyone, viewers included, could 100% see that.

Mick taking charge of the ship at the start was a nice change although I'm sure he didn't mean to drop the team inside the Cuban Missile Crisis.
You should've cloaked the ship.
Spooner saying Gideon made Behrad marijuana candy was funny.
I agree this felt like an older Legends episode with Ava saying they needed to give the missile back to the Russians to protect the timeline.
How come Nate and Zari got into the White House without anyone checking ID as they could've been anybody.
General Warmonger sure seems to want to start a war?
Clearly there was argument about who should lead the mission this week.
Sara wasn't here because Caity Lotz is directing the next episode.
Didn't know Behrad could play guitar and sing unless I forgot about that already?
Telling your family to go away for a couple of days won't save them Jack.
Rory was the leader for this mission I think.
The football fight at the end was funny.
Glad the president listened to Nate who obviously enjoyed himself in the White House.
Of course neither he or Zari couldn't tell Jack what happens next year to him.
Ava and Mick made up thankfully.
So the alien drinks? Okay someone to rival Mick.
Onto next week.
