Nancy finished her second season, and it was a good one.
Poor Nancy was not doing well, as we got started. The wraith was slowly killing her. And the Drew Crew, plus Carson and Ryan, were determined to save her.
Through research, they find out that the wraith was created by Temperance Hudson, some 200 years before (man, is Ryan the only decent one of that lot). And that is why it attached itself to Nancy, it recognized her as blood.
Tracking down an indirect descendant of Temperance, the Drew Crew get to work in saving Nancy. Nancy goes on what could only be called a vision quest, in which she confronts the pain and suffering of her past. Only by embracing that, can Nancy overcome the wraith. And it works. Nancy is restored, flaws and all.
She tells Carson and Ryan that she intends to assume control of the Hudson company and make reparations to all those the Everett hurt. And Carson and Ryan are on board. In fact, since Ryan is now cut off, he has been invited to crash at the Drew household (and isn't Bess still living there too).
Speaking of Bess, she gets some good stuff. Loved the bits where she and George (or should I say Odette) post as a lesbian couple, wanting to get married. You can tell that, had circumstances been different, Bess and Odette would have gotten together.
Odette decides to submerge herself totally into George, leaving George to live her life. They had a nice scene where Odette says good-bye to Bess, and they shared a kiss. Poor Bess, this is the second love interest that she's lost.
George then proposes to Ned, and he accepts.
Yay! All is well.
But wait, that descendant turns out to be Temperance Hudson herself, somehow still alive. She had been banished from Horseshoe Bay for seven generations, and now that ban has lapsed and she is free to re-enter. And it looks like she is going to be paying Nancy a visit. What her intentions are, we don't know yet.
And that's where we end.
Can't wait until this show comes back.

Enjoyed how almost every main character played a part in everything and the final resolution being Nancy basically going through her own mind kind of, and facing her darkness head on: complete with each member of the Drew Crew representing a part of her that helped guide her to what she needed to do. And even though she did take out the wraith, she didn't allow those other personas to go with it, because as painful as they can be at times, they are a part of her and help shape her into becoming the woman she is now. Pretty satisfying, I think.
Looks like George is still on borrowed time (for now), but Odette is pretty much going to lock herself away for good, so that George won't miss out on the time she has left.
And George also gave Bess permission to kiss Odette in her body. Aww! I thought they did a pretty seamless job with the scene and having it alternate between Bess kissing George/Leah Lewis and Odette/Anja Savcic at the same time. But George's first action going forward? Proposing to Nick!
Definitely looks like they're setting Nancy/Ace up for a potential romance, although there is naturally a current obstacle with him still wanting to "prioritize" his relationship with Amanda.
Ryan gives up his rights as Nancy's dad in order to protect Carson from being arrested, but he's still more or less family because he's crashing with the Drews! Yep, Nancy really has two dads now! And they're already off on the right foot by bonding over television and Carson teaching Ryan the proper way to wash dishes!
Finally, we got ourselves a potential new villain in the form of Temperance Hudson: a 7th generation ancestor of Nancy who, thanks to some crazy magic stuff, is out and about, and on her way to Horseshoe Bay. Should be fun!
And thus ends a pretty great season.
Grade: A
I actually liked the first season well enough, but I honestly think this not only improved leaps and bounds from that, but it might be one of my favorite seasons of television out of the 2020-2021 line-up.
Certainly the best from The CW second to Superman and Lois.
I thought the writing was actually pretty strong for this kind of show: especially with the characterization. And, of course, the entire ensemble really stepped it up
Season Grade: A

Hope they find a way to save George. She is basically raising her younger sisters and they need her.
Poor Odette was born in the wrong century, wasn't she. Being gay got her killed. Too bad they can't put her in the body of a brain dead woman, a la Ruby. She and Bess could then have something.
Ryan, along with Nancy, can show Horseshoe Bay that not all the Hudson's are horrible people.
And get more of her backstory. Plus just how she's still around at age 200!
