This I want to see. Who "Morgan Edge" really is.
Clearly "Edge" wants to rule Earth, not protect it.

Like what people have said in the previous episode's thread could Edge actually be General Zod perhaps or someone similar to him then?
It'll be interesting seeing who he turns out to be obviously.

Called it. Edge is trying to create a new Krypton, here on Earth. Trouble it, he wants to remove the native humans to do it.
Edge is actually named Tar-Ro and he is Superman's brother, or rather his half-brother in that they have the same mother Lara. Years before she met Jor-El, Lara was paired with Zeta-Ro early on in a form of an arranged marriage. The couple had a son, Tar-Ro.
Like his half-brother, Tar-Ro was sent to Earth. He landed in Britain, where he was at first hunted, and then capture by the British Military. He eventually escaped, but these experiences left him was a deep hatred of humanity.
It was revealed that Lara also created the means to preserve the minds of Kryptonians in that new Kryptonians. However, it was never meant to be exploited the way that Tar-Ro has been, using it to create his Augments.
One of the minds that was preserved was Lara herself, and Lana Lang volunteers to take Lara's consciousness, so they can get the information they need. Of course, this gives Lara the chance to see the son she sent to Earth grown up, and to interact with Lois. Nice scenes.
They do manage to find a way to restore the Augments to human form, but Clark is badly injured as a result. And Tar-Ro seems to have a Plan B. He and his female assistant (the only remaining Augment, as she did not take part in the final confrontation and was not restored), set off to implement it.
Looks like Kyle is back to normal. Maybe this will make him a better person, at least I hope so.
Guess Lara's mind is back in that Eradicator thing, with all the others.
And Sarah has been brought into the loop, at least part way. I can't blame Jon and Jordan for doing that. Her father was affected.
One little blooper, when they say Clark has no other family. Uh, hello, what about Kara?? Doesn't she count?
An excellent episode.

O Mother, Where Art Thou?
It's really amazing how this show continues to not have pointless melodrama from relationship angst or characters failing to communicate, no mysteries getting drawn out 10 episodes longer than they need to be, no sense that the material is being stretched to fill an episode order.
So last weeks cliff-hanger resolved who Morgan Edge really is. The first main villain that the hero faces being an evil mirror of themselves is something that's a staple in the superhero genre in general. But Clark having a maternal half-brother who was captured and experimented on was certainly not how I expected that to fall. Boo, I’ll admit, I wasn’t nuts on it at all. Morgan Edge being Lara’s child Tar-Ro with another man feels like this show’s first major misstep. It just feels…forced. Personally I’d have gone with a different villain and any one of the theories I came up with last week.
But luckily, the parts that did matter are the wonderful character and family moments, so I didn’t let that ruin the episode, and boy were they good.
It’s so refreshing to see things like Lois and Clark having an argument and handling it like mature adults, I lover that so very much. And the relationship between Jon and Jordan is so real—sometimes they get on each others nerves, but in the end, they always have each others backs. I strive for this writers’ room’s skills.
We learned that Lara (Superman’s birth mother) had also created a means to preserve the minds of Kryptonians in that new Kryptonians. However, not in the way that Tar-Ro has been doing, using it to create his an army to rule and take over earth.
Jonathan confessed to Jordan about the video where the other world Superman killed Lois, but the best part was that no secrets, Lois and Clark found out, and they all had a healthy family conversation. I loved that Lois pointed out to her sons that their Clark, has something that other one doesn’t a family and them three.
We do get more with the Jordan/Sara storyline, but it was barely much other than Jordan being there for her because her dad Kyle is not himself. That they didn’t lie about what happened to him, and Jonathan was the one to calming confess it all. And telling off Sam Lane, to let Sarah see her dad for herself to see he wasn’t himself. And blasting him that unlike him he hates lying to the people he loves.
Jon is tired of lying, and so am I.
Big episode for Lana, and she stepped up in a big way this week, as if she was to blame for everything. I feel like her response to this crisis told us a lot about who she is. She is extremely loyal. Even though she went to work for Edge to get information and help Lois, she now sees what the situation has become, and she really beats herself up for it, but is not feeling sorry for herself, she steps up to make it right. After what goes down with Kyle her husband, there’s no way she’s not going to insist on going through the machine.
I also love Lana and Lois friendship more and more. Their relationship is mature and beautiful. These two women really have each other’s backs. They have so much in common, as they are mothers, they’re married and they both have different types of love for Clark.
Emmanuelle Chriqui who plays Lana was fantastic in the role as Lar-El. I loved seeing Clark interacting with his birth mother. Such a beautiful moment. But what I loved was how when Clark mentioned he had a mother Martha who he loved and raised him, she was so happy and proud to her that she filled what she couldn’t, and loved that she wanted to hear all about his sons.
Lara fixes the machine to help get the Kryptonian out of the human vessels. I was so nervous that the plan wouldn’t work. Clark creating a blast to undo the Kryptonian mind implementation and saving the people of Smallville was also pretty cool and made for a good hero moment. I wonder where does Morgan Edge’s plan go from here, still not nuts on who he is, but with five episodes left, I'm interested to see where it goes, especially how it affects the characters I love.
I'm curious as to how much Lana and the others will remember, if anything, of their time possessed. I’d imagine we’ll find out next episode.
Odds and Ends: *I checked and Kal-El does not have a brother in the comics, in any version. So looks like they are doing something different from the comics. I don’t like it, but again, I have to see where they are going with the arc from here. *Okay sure Edge escaped the facility once he got into sunlight and charged up. But how'd he go to Business School later on? Edge is the head of a huge corporation, he definitely had to learn that somehow. *I got a vibe from that look Lana gave Superman. Felt like there was a hint of recognition that he’s Clark.
Overall thoughts: Another good episode. Not nuts on the Superman has a brother twist being real. But other than that, the family scenes and the characters were great. We finally got to meet Superman’s Mom. Lara scenes with her son were a highlight for me & actually made tear up. We also got to know who Lara was beyond being Jor-El’s wife. That she was a brilliant scientist too. That she tried to make her World a better place. Yet again Jon just continues to have these great character moments, telling Sarah the truth instead of lying to her, standing up to his grandpa. He definitely has the Superman values down.
Grade: A
Moments: 1. Lois telling her boys that their Clark/Superman has something the others don’t, them and a family. 2. Superman and his birth mom Lara catch up. 3. Jonathan standing up to Sam.

So Edge is Superman's brother. Gotta admit I didn't like that twist at all to be quite honest.
I was really expecting a joke about Clark objecting to Lana from being a host to Lara. It must be really weird when your ex becomes your mom.
I liked Jon's moments, especially with his grandfather. The Universe may hate him, but he'll keep his face up, and stand up for what he believes in. He has no powers, but he acts like Superman with his beliefs.
I don't like "I'm your secret, evil half brother!" reveal. I don't know, just reading it out loud sounds silly. The funny thing is that Rebirth Action Comics had a very similar arc with Jor-El. Jor-El was sent to Earth by Dr. Manhattan just as a screw you to Superman, where he was taken by kind strangers only to see them be massacred. He developed a deep mistrust of humanity so he started a cult and sow mistrust in order to kill as many humans as possible and take a special few he saw as good to a utopia, he was also trying to get Clark and Jon (especially Jon) on his side, too. I'm still sad we didn't get to see that plot through.
Actually, I wish Lara and the evil half-brother had met, at least. Felt like a missed opportunity.
Great scenes between the Kent's as always, where Clark tells them about his half-brother. I love how there's no secrets, just healthy family discussions.

So Edge is Clark's half brother called Tar-Ro by Kal-El's mother Lara and Zeta-Ro who were arranged to be married before she met Jor-El and he was sent to Earth when Lara warned Krypton would be destroyed? Plot twist.
We learn that he's there to make a new Krypton which was one of my ideas about why Edge might've been on Earth of course.
I agree with Clark not all humans are evil but how is Edge gonna get Lara back again? By implanting her mind into someone else then? If so can't wait for interaction with Clark and meeting her grandsons naturally.
I'm sorry Jor-El but your son deserved to know he has a half brother.
I'm guessing Lara was a scientist like Jor-El?
Hold on Johnathan what about Clark's cousin Kara on Earth Prime also?
I hope Kyle and the others can be saved even though he's not my favourite character in the series.
And now Martial Law's descended on Smallville.
It's good Sarah the truth even if it's half of it so.
Lana taking in Lara's consciousness to save Kyle and the other Smallville residents was understandable there.
Clark and Lara's scene gave me feels.
Again Jonathan continues being the heart of this show.
So Edge has another way of making Kryptonian's without the Eradicator then?
Although I dislike Edge I do see why he hates humans because he was hunted down by some of them when his pod landed in the British countryside though I disagree with him on us being inferior and that Earth should become another Krypton because the first one was lost.
Whoa everyone is Smallville's now a Kryptonian?
Of course Clark will choose humanity over his own people saving them because that's what makes him a hero.
I'm glad everyone was saved.
I bet Edge is near the fortress.
Man this show keeps getting better and better.
Roll on episode 11 then.

WOW! I didn't see that twist coming with Edge. I thought he didn't mean literal brother. Morgan Edge’s real identity is revealed: Tal-Rho, Clark’s (half-) brother from the same mother, yet different father.
The Eradicator makes it’s debut in the Arrowverse.
Clark finally meets and talks with his biological mother (via his ex-girlfriend). Sweet reunion thought.
Got to admit, Jonathan is wise beyond his years. Being direct with his grandpa Sam and giving advice to Jordan about Sarah after she saw her possessed father. He's amazing. Love him.
Now we know why Edge/Tal has a British accent.

What erks me slightly, about some fans is the comments I've seen on Youtube or Reddit with them stating Jonathan should have powers the same as Jordan because he's half Kryptonian also and I'm like really does that have to be? Yes because of genetics and everything otherwise what's the point in him and I think haven't you got anything better to say about a character than the fact he doesn't have abilities like all the good qualities Jon has in him?
Maybe the reason he hasn't, powers yet is that he's a late bloomer then who might exhibit abilities in the season 1 finale which continues into season 2 or the writers made him the way he is which gets explained why he has no powers some point because Jon's the heart of the family and to show viewers you don't have to be superpowered to be a hero like Superman is.
It's good I don't take any notice of toxic comments then but places like them really need to be hot on what some people say obviously.

Yeah I don't get what people have with this obsession of Jonathan getting powers or why he doesn't.
In fact he's way more interesting as a character because he has no powers.
I'm enjoying the ride of his character. Whatever happens with him and if he gets powers later. I'll just watch it when I see it or if it never happens, so be iy.
Jonathan to me is the heart of the family proving why no powers makes him just as much important to the story and the Kent family than if he did.
I'm more invested in the story and character development. What powers characters have are secondary and the least important to me when I watch a show or movie.

Unless Tar-Ro stole the real Edge's identity.
Not familiar with that story. Mind you, I haven't read DC Comics since the late 1980's.
That's the key word, half.
Perhaps Jon's genetics favours his human half.
